GIA YEE’S BIOGRAPHY

Gia Yee is a passionate creative and United States based singer, songwriter and

entrepreneur, who entered the music business in with a series of reggae-rooted songs. Her

original music has a unique pop reggae, reggae fusion mix, with a smooth, soulful, and

evocative vibe that crosses over into many music genres.

Gia Yee grew up in an interracial household, as she was born to a father who is Jamaican

Chinese and a mother of African descent. Though born in Washington D.C., Gia spent most

of my childhood and life growing up in the suburbs of Detroit. Second born of four siblings,

Gia Yee was heavily influenced by her parent’s strong work ethic, humble core and their

diversity.

Music was a significant part of her formative years, as pretty much every waking hour

within Gia Yee’s childhood home was filled with someone either playing or listening to

music. Gia and most of her family members played some type of instrument, and if

someone wasn’t playing upon an instrument, then a variety of either Smooth Jazz, R & B,

Reggae, Pop, Classical, or Classic Rock would be permeating the airwaves from their home

stereo sound system. Music was Gia Yee’s household background noise and their culturally

diverse background seemed to influence our eclectic mix of genres.

Though surrounded with music, the thought of becoming a music artist never entered Gia

Yee’s mind until much later in life. Her strong belief that truly ‘anything can happen’, and

that ‘it’s never too late to follow your heart’, lead Gia to her latest pursuit, in which she

ultimately found her voice through writing and producing her own music.

Gia Yee’s aim is to share her musical production works and inspire others from all walks of

life, and from all parts of the world with uplifting, and evocative music and productions.

Gia’s hope is that her music may be widely received and that it may resonate with its

listeners in a healing, thought provoking, and empowering way.
