WHO ARE WE

The WBU, acting on behalf of the Marshal ‘s Office of Lower Silesia, creates spatial development plans, studies, analyses, concepts and participates in international projects related to issues connected with regional spatial development

Location of Lower Silesia with two neighbours along the borders(Czech Republic and Germany) is the reason why cross‐border cooperation is important especially in spatial planning.

Directive of the Marshal of the Lower Silesia Voivodeship (8th of September 2008)on the Tasks of the Marshal Office Departments and other selfgoverment bodies of the Voivodeship related to:‐ running, updating and authoring voivodeship databases making up Lower Silesian Spatial Information System (DSIP)‐ standard of spatial data transferring (graphical and descriptive)

Organises information on data bases collected by various units of the Marshal Office and Systematises databases according to the regulations of the Inspire Directive

KOREG 2007 „Coordination of regional spatial planning Euroregion Neisse”•Funding from the Community Initiative INTERREG III A Presentation of planning documents on interactive web map; initiative of local authorities from the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland•Different technical solutions ‐ Problems with integration

Aim to test functionality of such a service as:•Tool for local authorities aiding local policy making,•Source of information for local communities,•Source of information on locations for investors

• In all of the presented examples, a lot of work has been done to overcome problems connected with lack of standards regarding e.g. collecting, transferring and accessingdata

• Inspire Directive is essential for spatial development studies, especially withcrossborder cooperation

• New Spatial Information Infrastructure Act in Poland is hope for implementing standards and regulations of creating and using SDI

• New project is aimed to support all of these tasks
