Kabaddi is one of the most popular sports in India, played mainly among people in villages. It is regarded as a team-contact sport as
a recreational form of combat training. Two teams occupy opposite halves of a small field and take turns sending a raider into the
other half, in order to win points by tagging/wrestling members of the opposing team; the rider then tries to return to his own half
while holding his breath and chanting "Kabaddi, Kabaddi, Kabaddi" during the whole raid. India has taken part in four Asian Games in
Kabaddi and won gold in all of them.
Maims Organized an inter college Kabaddi tournament on 8-9th October 2015 on behalf of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha
University. It was organized for the first time by GGSIPU and MAIMS got this opportunity to conduct it in its premises. It was
inaugurated by Ved Prakash Sharma, who is International Kabaddi coach of India and the secretary Haryana Kabaddi Association.
Eight teams of boys and four teams of girls participated in this tournament. Winner team of boys and girls was from MAIT and
runner up team was from MAIMS of both girls and boys.
