Getting to know your Eastside HOG Board: 20 Questions with Rich Moothart. 1) Rich, give us some personal information about yourself: What president was in office when you were born? Dwight D. Eisenhower Where were you born/raised Born In Hayward, CA. Moved to Fremont, CA until age 9. Then raised in Longview, WA. I’ve never grown up. How would friends in high school describe you? Loner/Friendly Where do or did you work? I was in law enforcement for most of my adult life 20 years in the cops, 10 years with investigating Insurance Fraud and now I’m a Criminal Investigator for DSHS (Welfare Fraud). Family: 2 daughters, one grand daughter 2) Give us your Favorites Movie: All the Indiana Jones movies, The Cowboys with John Wayne, Chevy Chases Christmas Vacation. Bike Movie: Wild Hogs and Easy Rider are tied but liked for different reasons. Book: Without Remorse Vacation Spot: Las Vegas and the Cascade Mountain Range Actor: John Wayne Food Dish: I love all food: Hamburgers, Sushi, Veggies, (Are malt beverages considered food?) Athlete: No one in particular. I admire gymnast more than anyone… a pure form of athletics. Sport: Baseball, if I had to watch a sport on TV. Musician: Jimmy Buffett Songs: A Pirate looks at 40 Son of a sailor He went to Paris TV Show: My Name is Earl, Home Improvement and Get Smart TV Bike Show: Orange County Choppers Day of the week: Friday, I have it off and most people don’t. 3) If you could have a life mulligan (do over) what would it be ? Treat some people a whole lot better. 20Q With Rich Moothart 4) What model was your first Harley 2000 Road King, Classic. 5) Why Harley and not another motorcycle brand. They are just flat ass cool! The chrome, the T-shirts, the pipes, and some of the best people on earth ride them… just look at who is in our HOG Group. I consider everyone in the group a friend. I wouldn’t have as many friends if I didn’t buy the Harley and join up with HOG. 6) Of all the rides you've taken, which one stands out the most and why? The ride to Sturgis with Dave and Larry. 15 days with no schedule or planned destination. Total Freedom to go where and when we wanted. 7) What one ride do you want to take before you lower your kick stand for the last time? The Florida Keys 8) What ride do you look forward to every year and why? I have a group of guys that I ride with. We often start out with a destination but rarely make it there. Sort of a cross between the Wild Hogs and the Wild Bunch. 9) What Harley model would you buy next and why? Road King Standard. I love the look of the bike: original Harley. It makes a wonderful cruiser for those long trips. I would like the hard bags so I can secure my camera and other things. 10) Who's the most famous person you've met? Met a few: Guarded Jimmy Carter, Howard Schultz, Tommy Thompson, John Walsh, and Janine Turner to name a few. Hopefully, one day, I’ll meet Jesus on good terms. 11) Who's the one person you would like to meet & why? The Pope. Since I was raised Catholic, I would really like to know why the church stays so old fashioned (no female priest, no birth control, etc.) 12) Who do you admire the most and why? The medical staff at Children’s Hospital and those in the Burn Unit at Harbor View. It rips me apart when I see children in pain. I think those people who work with the sick kids and people painfully disfigured are true hero’s.

1) Rich, give us some personal information about yourself:      What president was in office when you were born?

I consider everyone in the group a friend. I wouldn’t have as many friends if I didn’t buy the Harley and join up with HOG.

Hiking, riding my Harley, and being able to enjoy the company of my children and their children. (Sitting on my deck smoking a Cigar and sipping a 15 year old single malt scotch with Karen wouldn’t be too bad either).

14) Besides riding motorcycles, what are your other hobbies?Backpacking, hiking, running, snowshoeing, XC skiing, and flirting with the female HOG members.

15) What don't most people know about you? My partners and I won an Emmy for a 3 hour television production we made.(The Emmy sits in our producers office).

16) What gets you fired up (angry)? Stupid drivers… all those folks behind me and those in front of me.

17) What relaxes you (puts you at ease)? When Karen.... better not go there. 18) If you could, what non-living person would you like to have a conversation with and why?Benjamin Franklin… I would love to hear what he has to say about the United States in its present state.

19) What's your biggest mistake?I was told to keep my answers short… no room to list them.

20) If you could, what one message would you like to communicate to the world?My motto is, “Don’t Whine, Deal with it.”Don’t complain if you haven’t tried to change it.
