The Met’s online streaming service, Met Opera on Demand, is now available as an app on the popular Samsung Smart TV platform. Customers who already have a Samsung Smart TV can enjoy unlimited access to the Met Opera on Demand catalog of more than 550 full-length performances—including more than 85 stunning HD videos from the award-winning Live in HD series of cinema transmissions—in just a few easy steps: 1. Subscribe to Met Opera on Demand on the Met website 2. Download the free Met Opera on Demand app to your Samsung Smart TV 3. Log in to the Met Opera on Demand Samsung Smart TV app

The following pages contain detailed illustrations of each step. This brief guide assumes you already have a Samsung Smart TV, and that it is already

Step 1: Subscribe to Met Opera on Demand on the Met website

(If you already have a Met Opera on Demand subscription, proceed to Step 2.) Visit http://www.metopera.org/season/on-demand/learn-more/#subscribe in any web browser to load up the page illustrated below and select any available subscription option.

Note: if you previously purchased a Free 7-Day Trial for Met Opera on Demand you may not be eligible to purchase another one.

Step 2: Download the Met Opera on Demand app to your Samsung Smart TV

Click the “Smart Hub” button on your Samsung remote control, and then select “Samsung Apps” on your TV…

…In the “Samsung Apps” section, navigate to “Categories” and then select “Videos”

…Within “Videos” change the Sort in the upper right to “Title A to Z” and then scroll horizontally to the right to find Met Opera on Demand under “M”

NOTE: Met Opera on Demand will only appear here if it is available on your specific Samsung Smart TV model. At this time, the app is available for all 2012-2014 models and most but not all 2015 models. Visit www.metopera.org/samsunghelp for more information.

Step 2: Download the Met Opera on Demand app to your Samsung Smart TV

Click the “Download” button, and once the download is complete you will see an “Open” button.

Step 3: Log in to the Met Opera on Demand Samsung Smart TV App

The following slides illustrate two options for logging into the Met Opera on Demand Samsung Smart TV app, using the “Log In” selection below in the first screen that appears after downloading the app on your Samsung Smart TV and opening it.

The first login option pairs an Activation Code on your Samsung Smart TV with the entry of your username and password on the Met website, using another device such as your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Go to www.metopera.org/activate on the Met website, on another device, and log in with your username and password on the screen below…

…then enter the 7-digit Activation Code displayed on your Samsung Smart TV into the follow-up login screen below on the Met website.

Step 3: Log in to the Met Opera on Demand Samsung Smart TV app – Option 1

Once you have logged in with your username and password, and entered a valid Samsung activation code, the page will refresh as below indicating that your registration was successful. Within 30 seconds, your Samsung TV screen will automatically refresh—completing the login process and loading the Met Opera on Demand app home screen. Please note: you only need to complete this initial login process once, as the Samsung Smart TV app will securely store your login afterwards.

Step 3: Log in to the Met Opera on Demand Samsung Smart TV – Option 2

Users may also enter their Met Opera on Demand username and password directly on their Samsung Smart TV, via the screen below (select “Sign in with username and password” on the screen with the Activation Code), by entering each individual letter or number using the keypad with the Samsung remote control.

After successfully logging in to the Met Opera on Demand Samsung Smart TV app, the screen below will load for access to everything available. Select a featured opera from this home screen, or search through the other screens (HD Videos, All Operas, Composers, Search, etc.) For additional help, visit www.metopera.org/samsunghelp.
