    This document will explains about Oracle Apps login, Choosing Responsibility,Choosing Function / Opening Form, Switch Responsibility, Query Form and eyboardShortcuts! This chapter would tell a user about the basics o" login to the OracleApplications instance! #t would also demonstrate the basics o" wor$ing with OracleApplications! To understand the complete "unctionality o" a particular responsibilityplease re"ers to the respecti%e &ser 'uide!

    Oracle Applications Login

    (e"ore you connect to Oracle Applications you must $now the &R) o" the OracleApplications ser%er you want to connect to! Clic$ing on the &R) would lead you tothe Oracle Applications )ogin *age as shown in "igure + below!

    Choosing Responsibility

    To connect to the Oracle Applications, you must ha%e an Oracle Apps login #created by the System Administrator o" the Oracle Applications instance!

    -nter the appropriate )ogin # and password and clic$ login! #" the login is success"ulit will lead you to the responsibility page as shown in "igure . below! This page willshow all the responsibilities that ha%e been assigned to your )ogin # by the System

    Administrator!

    Choosing Function / Opening Form

    Once you clic$ on a responsibility, it will show you the menus and "unctionsassociated with the responsibility! Clic$ on the Sys Admin, ision Ser%ices 0&SA1responsibility! The page will loo$ li$e as shown in the "igure 2 below!

    -ach "unction under a menu opens a "orm when clic$ed upon! The "orms are basicallyan inter"ace between you and the applications "or %arious "unctionalities! These"orms are run on Oracle 3initiator! Once you clic$ on a "unction, the 4initiator isin%o$ed and it then opens the respecti%e "orm! #" you are login "or the "irst time,Oracle Applications automatically downloads and installs the 4initiator "or you! #t,there"ore, ta$es a longer time to open the "orm "or the "irst time! Once the 4initiatoris installed, it opens an intermediate window 0"igure 51 be"ore the "orm is opened!*lease do not close this window as it will close the Oracle Applications session! 6ait

    till the "orm window opens up automatically! The intermediate page would go to thebac$ground!

    Clic$ on the e"ine lin$ under the Concurrent7 *rogram 8enu! This will open the "ormto de"ine the Concurrent *rogram in Oracle Applications! The "orm is shown in theFigure 9 below!

    $itch Responsibility

    The details about using the abo%e "orm are gi%en in the document on Concurrent*rograms! To switch to another responsibility, you can either go to the page whichwas shown in the "igure 2 abo%e and clic$ on the re:uired responsibility and "ollowthe step 5 and step 9 or you can clic$ on File tab and choose Switch Responsibility asshown in "igure ; below!

    Query Form

    The e"ine shown in the "igure abo%e is used to create )ogin #ds "or the Oracle

    Applications users by the System Administrator! The same "orm can also be used to:uery the existing usersB data! To %iew 0:uery1 the existing data go to iew=>Query(y -xample=>-nter to enter the :uery criteria as shown in the "igure + below!

    Once you clic$ on -nter as shown in the "orm abo%e, the e"ine "orm switched modeto :uery mode and the color o" the "ields changes to ()&-! -nter a %alue in a "ield inthe "orm abo%e "or which you want to :uery the data!

    To "etch the results matching the entered criteria, you need to run the :uery! Thiscan be done by clic$ing on iew=>Query (y -xample=>Run as shown in the "igure +.below!

    The data would be displayed in "ollowing "ashion as shown in the "igure +2 below!The "orm shows a lot o" details about the username entered in the :uery! All theresponsibilities attached to the user name are shown in the "orm!

    The same process can be used to :uery data on any "orm in Oracle Applications! oucan also use the $eyboard shortcuts "or entering and running the :uery! Forexample, F++ $ey puts the "orm in the :uery mode and Ctrl G F++ runs the :uery!ou can get the list o" the complete $ey board shortcuts by clic$ing on Help=>eyboard Help as shown in the "igure +5 below
