Getting Started Again

The next thing to do is consolidate your dream and make sure it is realistic (as boring and deflating as that may be) with the space you have. The second thing to do is measure the space you plan to decorate and take a straight-on digital photo of your space. Divide your space measurements by 12 to get the scale you need to use this catalogue and for planning. Also scale your photo to match. This can all be done manually or digitally. You can now adjust your layouts and plans using the 12:1 scale in our catalogues. Include all windows, doors, furniture and other obstructions.

Once you have prepared your layout space, you can use our downloaded brochures and catalogues to start laying out your own unique wall or ceiling mural or, room enhancing decorations. Think of it as a cut and paste game. You can work digitally with the catalogues if you have a suitable computer application. Simply print, copy and paste or drag and drop the applique images that appeal to you. Please remember, your scale must remain 12:1 for the catalogue images to be the most help to you and do not lose the appropriate catalogue numbers. See next page.

Catalogue Numbers: A Life Saving Read

This catalogue number expresses the image name, the image designation, the image position, the image version, no image variation, it is not a flopped (A) variant, and the size in metric.

VineATopSummerA000x000

In this second catalogue number, we see that we have Vine A, in the centre position of the whole vine, of the fall version, a night variation which is a flopped (B) variant and it’s size in metric.

VineACenFalNigB000x000

In this third catalogue number we see that it is Vine B, from the bottom position, a summer version, of the evening variation, not flopped and it’s size in metric. In the catalogue, the second line (in red) gives you the imperial (inches) measurements and price for that item.

You will love what you receive but if, for some reason, you have changed your mind you can adapt what you have for a new purpose or give them to someone. If you need to paint your wall, now is the time. Your mind’s eye sees a cyan background colour that everything else will sit on so carefully choose a hue and value that matches your vision. There aar many painting options to choose from and each has it’s strong and weak points that you should investigate and practice. Here aar some samples; brush, sponge, daub and smudging that can create wonderfully subtle cloud, vegetation or water textures. They aar used only to paint around the applique however so do not use these techniques under where the applique will go because of that texture. Try not to touch or pile up your paint against the applique as it may effect the adhesive. Spray under painting will give you a wonderful mist, fog or cloud effect and can be used under the applique. After curing that is. Careful masking of the applique may allow for tweaking after instillation. Blending the techniques can give you the best of both.

Let’s move on with a trial mounting where you planned your original creation. Since our applique can be remounted on appropriately prepared surfaces, try holding it in place. If you aar feeling more confident now, you can do a small highlight painting, let it dry and cure. Since it is smaller than your original plan, it will simply blend into the larger highlight you planned.

You will find yourself confident enough at this point to just hold up your applique rather than mount it. That is a good choice and once made, you can now order the remainder of your applique.
