Create a Writer ProfileCreating a great writer profile is another key to success at Constant-
Content. Your profile influences the opinions of potential customers, so
selling your qualifications and abilities here is essential. Key points to
include on your profile are:
• Education• Relevant work history
• Interesting life experiences
• Categories or industries you
focus on• Types of content you can
produce• A professional photo
In addition to representing you to customers, writer profiles power
Constant-Content's Writer Search feature. When a customer searches for
a specific term or name, the search feature returns a list of writer profiles
containing that search term.
Check out our guide to writing a great writer profile here:
Make sure that customers can find you and learn about your unique skills
by writing your profile right away!
What to Write About
Constant-Content sells most of its articles from our catalogue. Submitting
articles to us means that when customers come looking, you can make
the sale. We’ve found that articles listed for sale in the catalogue have an
87 percent chance of selling at some point.

Choosing a topic that will sell is an important decision. We recommend
the following:
• Explorethebest-sellingcategoriesstatisticsfoundonyour

• Payattentiontotherecentdocumentsalesandsearchtopics

All of these topic selection methods offer you a great opportunity to sell
your work.
Article Requests
After becoming comfortable with our guidelines and the submission
process, you have another option available: submitting articles to “public
requests.” Requests are calls for specific articles from our customers. By
submitting an article to a request, your approved article will be forwarded
to the client for review and your chances of making a sale will increase.

Clients have a three-day period to exclusively examine articles submitted
to their request. If a customer doesn’t buy a requested article after this
period, we then list the article for sale in our catalogue so that other
customers have the opportunity to buy it.
Whether the client who made the request buys your article or someone
else buys it, you win!
General Submissions or Public Requests – Which Way to Go?
Many Constant-Content writers focus only on writing for public requests,
which can be very rewarding. However, focusing only on public requests
means you could be missing out on the biggest potential of Constant-
Content – a full 81% of our sales come from the catalogue.
Private Requests
Many clients opt to work exclusively with a select group of writers whose
styles they like. As you begin selling your articles through the catalogue
or through public requests, or when a client finds your profile through the
writer search feature, your body of work will make an impression. A client
may decide that your work and writing style is perfect for a given project
and send you a “private request” for an article.
Private requests use the same format as public requests, but you will
be the only writer invited to work on the job. Successfully fulfilling private
requests is a great way to build repeat business through Constant-
Content.
Suggestion: If you receive a Private Request, be sure to send a note to
the customer to let them know you’re working on the project and be sure
to update them as you progress.

Writer PoolsConstant-Content also offers requests for specialized types of content
including:
• Blog posts
• Ebook writing
• Press releases
• SEO content
• Product reviews
• Copy editing
• Copy writing
• Regional writing
• Foreign language writing
These high value requests are directed to the top writers on the site.
These writers can then claim a project to work on exclusively – similar to
a private request.
Known as "writer pool requests," these requests are only available to
writers belonging to the related writer pool. To join a writer pool, you must
have at least 10 articles accepted by the Constant-Content editors, at
a 60 percent approval rate. After meeting that mark, you can go to the
Writer Pool Settings page and click on Apply for the pools that you're
interested in. From there, fill out a brief application and submit a writing
sample. The Constant-Content editorial team will then consider you for
inclusion in that pool.

Once you're accepted into a writer pool, you will be notified every time
a new opportunity is posted. If you're interested, visit the Requested
Content page and click on Claim the Request – and then start writing!
Each writer may claim one project at a time, ensuring that everyone in the
pool has the opportunity to claim assignments. By claiming a project, you
agree to complete it to the client's specifications.
Constant-Content Strategy
Constant-Content is unlike most other article marketplaces. Learning
how to be successful from the outset is the key to getting your articles
accepted and sold. We’ve put together some pointers to help you find
your way to success:

With that in mind, we asked a few of our top writers to share their tips with you:
J.A. Young:
• Accurate research is just as important as good writing. Provide solid
information and a well-researched article and you are likely to generate
repeat customers.
• Love your local library. At any given time, I have roughly 20 books out to
complement my internet research. Right now I have 33 books from the
library piled next to my desk on subjects I plan to tackle in the next two
weeks.
• Find a grammar guide that works for you. I use a few online sources that
are quick and handy to get to while I’m writing.
• Write steady. Once CC approves a piece, I try not to worry about whether
it will sell tomorrow or next year. Some will sell right away and some
won’t. However, by generating steady content, I’ve found that some really
will sell right away and the rest usually do sell at some point down the
road.
Celeste Stewart:
Keep submitting articles. You’ll get into a groove and you’ll find that review
times don’t matter as much. You might try submitting one article a day, three
a week, or a couple articles on your day off. It doesn’t matter so much what
your particular schedule is so long as you stick to it and keep submitting
articles. After all, you can’t sell them if they don’t exist.
Bonnie Conrad (bconrad):
This is the strategy I used when I first started here, and I have continued it
ever since.
1. Watch the recently sold board to see which categories are hot at the
moment. Write at least two or three articles on those subjects. Try to make
each article as unique as possible, taking a different slant on the same topic.

2. Respond to every public request that interests you. If you feel the price is
too low, submit an article anyway and price it fairly. Many buyers are willing
to pay more for quality writing.
3. Write as many articles as you want for a public request, even if the request
calls for only one or two articles. Many buyers end up buying more articles
than the request indicates.
4. Don’t stress over unsold articles. These pieces are your inventory, and
they can make you money down the line.
5. Set a quota for the number of articles you want to write each day, and stick
to that quota as strictly as possible.
6. Watch your own sales to get a feel for which topics you do best with. Write a
replacement article on a similar subject each time an article sells.
Anonymous:It’s important to diversify the writer’s portfolio. You might develop a niche
like business articles, but it’s better to write different types of titles of varying
lengths and styles to earn a steady income here.
Word Gypsy:While success is defined differently by many individuals, success on Constant
Content is typically defined as the sale of an article (or perhaps several
articles). I’ve found each of the following tips to be quite helpful in garnering
those sales:
• Write on as many topics as possible as frequently as possible. The more
you write, the more you can sell.
• Choose a topic that you know little about and read up on it. Then, write
about it.
• Brainstorm new topics when you are too tired to actually compose
anything of merit.
• Vary your pricing strategy. You need to realize that customers have
different price points, and you can only attract sales from each of these
customers if you offer a range of prices.

• Proofread all of your work at least twice. It’s easy to miss an error. Plus,
rereading your material can trigger new ideas.
• Stay focused and productive to reap the benefits of article selling.
• Instead of writing an article that will sell tomorrow, consider the possibility of
writing articles that will simply sell in the future. It takes some of the stress
away, allowing you to avoid the disappointment that comes when the article
doesn’t sell immediately.
• Remember that your success is personally defined by you. Never allow
someone else’s success to diminish your own. Everyone here started at the
same place – with zero articles approved by the editor.
Dr. Kristie:
Check the “recently sold content” daily to get an idea of which topics sell best.
This will also spark ideas for new articles.
Don’t sell yourself short by setting your prices too low. If you underprice your
articles, customers will question the quality of your work. When you set your
prices, factor in the 35% commission that goes to Constant Content. Price your
articles accordingly.
We’re excited that you’ve registered for our site and we understand that you
may be overwhelmed at first. We’re here to help you succeed. If you have any
questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Letter from the editors
Dear New Writer,
Constant Content’s editing team welcomes you! You’ve entered the ranks of
writers who write what they’re passionate about, set their own prices, and
make money while they sleep. Sounds like magic, doesn’t it? It isn’t magic. It’s
a collaborative effort between you, the writer, and us, the editors. By working
together, we can create the best environment for you to sell your work.
It’s no secret that Constant Content is interested only in high-quality writing.
How can you make sure your articles meet our quality standards? Keep
these tips in mind when you submit your articles:
Proofread, proofread, proofread. We love error-free documents and
customers love them, too. They save everyone time and create greater
potential for income (wouldn't you rather spend time writing a new article
than revising one you've already completed?). If you aren't sure about a
certain aspect of writing, we can help you find authoritative sources with
clear explanations about that issue.
Wait before clicking “submit.” When you write an article, set it aside
overnight (or, if the article is not time sensitive, a few days). Then take a
look at it with fresh eyes. You're guaranteed to spot errors you would have
missed otherwise. You may even help yourself avoid the delay of getting a
notification that asks for revisions.
Follow our guidelines. All publications have requirements for submission,
and we're no different. Save yourself the effort of creating a document that
we can't consider because it isn't what we're looking for.
A Little About the Editing Team
Constant Content's editing team is made up human beings. No machines
or programs check your articles. Each one of us has an educational

background in creative writing, English, or journalism, and all of us have
professional editing experience. We're as interested in improving our own
ability to communicate effectively and spot an article's weak spots as we
are in helping you to create the best content you possibly can.
We review articles as quickly as possible. We don't like making you wait
to have your article reviewed (really!). However, please know review times
vary and may be longer or shorter depending upon a variety of factors,
including volume of submissions and editors' individual work schedules.
Constant Content's Editors Say . . .
“We look forward to reading your articles. Not only do we enjoy editing, but
we are also enthusiastic about learning from their articles' subject matter.
Additionally, the editing process helps writers and editors alike sharpen
their skills. It's a mutually beneficial relationship.”
“Editors aren't out to get a writer or make them feel bad. We want writers to
sell their article as quickly as possible and get as much money for them as
they can. That's why we're here.”
“Multiple submissions are sometimes necessary. If you think that your
article merits publication, don't get discouraged when it is rejected
numerous times. Editors often reject after identifying major mistakes within
the first few paragraphs and leave major line-editing and proofreading for
the author. If your article is as good as you think it , it will find a home here
eventually.”
We look forward to working with you!
The Constant Content Editing Team
