Some of the themes she will address are how best to establish effective community partner- ships and the impact that service learning can have on student’s civic engagement. Dr. Arenas has been director of the Office of Service Learning and Community Based Research since 2005. Prior to this appointment, she worked in the UW System Administration and was the author of the UW System’s Plan 2008: Educational Excellence through Race/Ethnic Diversity.
