What are they?

Tineola bissellialla being their official name are also known as the common clothes moth. They are a type of fungus moth.The female mothlay 30-200larvaewhich sick to surfaces with a glue like substance. Thesehatch 4-10 days laterinto near-microscopic white caterpillars.

The Larvae

Theyimmediately begin to feed.The larvae is seen as aserious pestin houses as they feed on clothing, carpets and other household fabrics such as curtains and bed sheets. Unlike many moths that are attracted to light, this breedprefer low lightsettings.

Moth spray. You can buy these from most super markets and this will help you on your way to removing them.

Especially the corners of the room as they love the dark areas. They love to eat all types of fabrics. It is crucial that youclean all fabricsyou believe they be feasting on. This can include clothing, towels, curtains, bed lining, carpets and fabric furniture.

Tryfreeze thefabrics. Put the item into a plastic bag, put it into your freezer, leave it there for 2-3 days. Take it out the freezer and then allow it to get to room temperature. Then again insert it back into the freezer for another two days. This will help to ensure that the pests will not survive the freeze.
