INTRODUCTION TO TARGET AUDIENCE

AGE

The age range of our target audience will be between 16-25. This is because the majority of people we asked who are interested in the Indie/folk genre were of this age. We will not concentrate on attracting people under the age of 16 as from the research, I found they tend not to be familiar with the Indie/Folk genre. This allows us to have the opportunity to feature controversial or unsettling issues within our narrative e.g. drug abuse & self-harm. Consequently, this would be effective with attracting the more older age range of our audience who may be more mature and find interest in such serious and sensitive issues. Therefore the typical member of our target audience would be aged 18-19.
