Thiscoursewillhelpyougetbetterphotosfromyourcamera.Youwilllearnhowtouseallthefeaturesofyourcameratogetbetterfamilyandvacationpictures,aswellasgreatpicturesofthesubjectsyouliketoshoot.Someofthetopicscoveredinclude:

• Studiolighting Buyingguides
Twofieldtripsareplannedsoyouhaveanopportunitytophotographwiththeinstructors.Thecourseendswithaviewingandcommentaryoneachstudent’swork.Thiscourseisintendedfornovicetointermediatephotographerswithacamerathathasadjustableshutterspeedsandf-stops.

Coursefeesmustbepaidinfullbythefirstclass.Partialpaymentscannotbeaccepted.Registration in Photoshop Editing and Fundamentals includes a four month membership in the Cleveland Photographic Society.Refundsforwithdrawalwillbehonorediftheyarerequestedbynotifyingtheschooldirectorduringthefirstweekofclass.Awithdrawalfeeof$10.00willbedeductedfromtherefund.Therefundingprocessusuallytakesthreetofourweeks.ClevelandPhotographicSocietyisanotforprofitcorporationandthepurposeoftheseclassesistoincreasetheunderstanding,interestandenjoymentofphotography.
The Cleveland Photographic SocietyCPShasbeenincontinuousoperationsinceitsfoundingin1887.Theorganizationcurrentlyhasmorethan400membersandisoneofthefewphotoclubsanywheretohaveitsownpermanentclubroom.ThemissionofCPSistopromoteandadvancetheunderstanding,passionandjoyofphotographybyprovidingopportunitiesforeducation,skilldevelopment,picture-taking,competition,critiqueandfellowship.
WeinviteyoutovisitusonanyFridaynight,whenthereisascheduledmeeting,tofindoutwhatourprogramsandcompetitionsarelike.Themeetingsareopentoallguestsandthereisnochargetoattend.WearelocatedontheCityofBroadviewHeightscampus.(Fordirections,seemapsbelow.)Clubroomopensby7:00PM.
OurFundamentalsandPhotoshopElementsEditingstudentsreceiveafree,fourmonthmembership.Clubmembersandstudentsmaycompeteinthephotocompetitions.Thereareseveralcategoriesofphoto
printcompetitions,eachisheldonadifferentFridayevening:Nature,People,Pictorial,andCreative.TherearealsoProjectionCompetitionsfordigitalimages.Occasionally,additionalphotosharingeventsarescheduledforspecialsubjectcategoriessuchasPhotojournalism,Architecture,Humorandothers.Studentsareencouragedtoattendmeetings.Seeingphotosincompetitionsandhearingthejudges’critiquescanbeanimportantadditiontothephotographiceducation.
CPSalsosponsorsmanyothereventsformemberssuchasguestspeakers,specialexhibits,workshops,socialactivities,andmanyfieldtripstoprovideideas,opportunities,andinspiration.
Duesforindividualmembersare$54peryear.Juniormemberships(under18)areavailableat$36.Forcouplesitis$81peryear.Familymembershipis$117peryear.Distancememberships,forthosewholivemorethan100milesaway,are$36.
