This segment of the Awana

program offers an opportunity to

easily integrate Awana with the

lesson themes taught in Sunday

school each week.

It’s fun. It’s high-energy. It’s Game

Time! In fact, one of the things kids

will most remember about their

Awana days is the fun they had

playing games, doing crafts and

engaging with different activities. At

Awana, we realize not every church

has a gym or an Olympic-sized

activity center. The Awana staff will

work with your leaders to create

games and activities to fit your church’s vision — and your building.

While Awana ministries are adaptable and flexible to fit the size of your church’s volunteer force, building and budget, most Awana ministries have some things in common.

The program usually runs for one-and-a-half to two hours and involves a rotation through three segments:

Small Group Time allows kids to

break into age-specific groups where they dive into biblical

truth with their leaders, discuss

the meaning and application

of Scripture, and share verses

they’ve memorized. Small Group

Time establishes a foundation

for understanding the Bible and

growing in community with other

Christians that will last a lifetime.

Awana is for all children and churches, no matter

the size of your congregation or building. If there

aren’t enough precious Cubbies and Sparks to run

separate programs, combine them into one! Or, if your Cubbies program is thriving but you have only

a handful of Sparks enrolled, fold them into T&T.

Whether you’re interested in combining due to the

Large Group Time

The What and Why books (find them at awana.org/shop)

provide lessons ideal for combined ages. Choose worship

songs that are appropriate for all age groups, or use this

time to hand out awards to all age levels.

Activity Time

Group kids around the Game Circle based on ability

or height. Or skip the circle altogether and try smaller

activities, table games or crafts. Awana game books

(on page 18) suggest fun activities you can do in small

spaces and different situations.

Small Group Time

Form groups based on age and handbook level, or

combine ages to share prayers requests. Listen to

children recite their verses individually; you can ask

important questions personalized to their level of

understanding regardless of what book the student is

on. Other kids can strengthen their memorization while

you listen, but involve the older kids as Awana leaders-

in-training and recruit them to be listeners, as well!

You can return any item within 60

days in salable condition, in original

packaging, provided the product was

purchased from Awana by the customer

to be credited. If any items do not meet

criteria for crediting, the item becomes

the property of Awana and will not be

all shipping costs on returns.
