Step 3: Implement

your paper document

Traditional Format
LinkedIn Utilize Introductions to network with 2nd and 3rd
level connections
Search for a company and send resume directly to someone in that department
Use 3rd party applications to connect other social media accounts to your profile
See who’s viewed your profile and start a conversation

LinkedIn: Sample
In order to show up in LinkedIn search results:
•Log in often
•Update your activity (can be done through 3rd party applications)
•Complete your profile

Traditional Format
Visual CV
Similar to LinkedIn BUT… You can embed documents and videos You can create separate profiles for different jobs You can track who views your CV
However… Not as many employers or friends may be on this site,
so it diminishes your network and limits reach

Visual CV
Multimedia embedded into profile
More personable than LinkedIn’s “Summary” section, “About Me” suggests casual greeting
Timeline Format

By: Mandi Lindner http://getsocialgethired.wordpress.com
Timeline Format

Add details to each moment, explaining significance and place in your history
Creates stylish, eye-catching presentation of your resume
Embed and/or share Capzle across social media
By: Mandi Lindner http://getsocialgethired.wordpress.com
Capzles: Sample
Users can scroll through the timeline, click on a moment, and open up a details pane that provides more information about the experience
Users can share Capzle across social media. Viewers can rate and comment on presentation
By: Mandi Lindner http://getsocialgethired.wordpress.com
Timeline Format
TimeRime
Another free option for building a resume timeline
Capability to connect to database for mass uploading of events
Final presentation not as customizable or eye-catching, but still quite professional
By: Mandi Lindner http://getsocialgethired.wordpress.com
TimeRime: Navigation
Adding moments one at a time is time consuming, but for computer-savvy users, the software can mass import data from an external data source. Minor editing and formating would still be required.
