GET OUT ON THE ROAD
Happy New Year and greetings as I begin this year as President.Since joining our Club in 2010, I have had the pleasure of meetingmost of you but for those that I haven’t, I look forward to doing so.
I became interested in Model “A”s at a very early age. When I was 11years old I bought my first Model “A” from my uncle for $40 bucks. Itwas a baby blue 1928 “Special coupe” with a blue and white stripedtop, the deck lid had been removed and a makeshift wooden pickup
bed stuck out the back in it’s place. I thought it was the greatest car ever and drove it around the SanFernando Valley (with my dad, of course) for a couple of years. Thus began my love for the Model “A”.
Last year Harry wanted us to “advance the spark” so this year let's engage the clutch, put it in gear, andget out on the road. It is my goal, with the help of our Board of Directors, to encourage more of you tojoin in on Club events by creating some fun and interesting tours that are close to home and easy to getto. I also want to offer assistance to anyone needing help with their cars. Please contact me and I willmake sure that you get the help you need no matter how big or small the problem. I want to try to getmore of our cars road worthy. I’m sure you didn’t join our Club just to let your precious Model “A” just sitin the garage. There’s help out there, just ask for it.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank all the new members that joined last year for theirparticipation. Let us all welcome our newest member Vic Cohen that joined at our January Meeting. Vicowns a beautiful ’29 Tudor that is certainly a stand out. Please say hi when you see him.
A thanks to those of you that participated in our memorial run on January 25th. It reminds us of thosethat no longer tour with us; we miss them all.
I want to invite all of you to our February meeting on the 19th. Be sure to drive your Model ”A”!
See you then. Clark

First off, let me sayTHANK YOU to theboard of 2014 for all theirhard work. PresidentHarry never missed abeat, even during tax
season. And Chuck Millerfor putting together some
wonderful trips. I believe that this is thefirst time in my being a member of the clubthat Chuck is NOT on the board in somecapacity or another. And THANK YOU, in advance to the board for2015. Clark will make a fine president, if hismembership role is any indication. Julia, returning as secretary will be forced once againto pay attention during the meetings, and Staninches ever closer to his dream to take deliveryof a Porsche at the factory in Germany. MikeSriro must live at his computer, standing at theready to launch another email to themembership, then a correction, then a follow-up.What’s really heartening is the participation oftwo new members: Harvey Jacobs as tourdirector and Stewart Levin assuming theposition of membership chairman. Bothare avid tourers and both are relatively new in the club, withStewart and his wife Catherinejoining early last year. Thanks, guys, for stepping up. Welooking forward to workingwith all of you.

Minutes from the General MeetingJanuary 15, 2015
Julia Mildenberger, Secretary
The first meeting of the New Year started at 7:30 p.m. at Galpin Ford in Van Nuys.
Our new president Clark Pomeroy thanks Harry for his previous service to the club and announces that Jim Rummel will remain our Master Sgt .@Arms and Carol Mosher will remain our Historian. Harry announced that we won first place for the car clubs in the Christmas parade.
Members sometimes wonder why we are paying the ACC dues. They are always looking out for the interests of our cars. Right now they are opposingand fighting the adding of ethanol to gasoline which would be detrimental to our cars.
Our club charity cake is out tonight but we have not selected a charity as yet. The board will review possible charitiesand we will have a decision by the next meeting.
Stewart Levin is our new membership director. He introduces Vic Cohen who is a guest and is planning on joining ourclub. Vic has had his Model A for about a month and a half. Stew is aiming to have the new rosters out by the end of February.Robin Pomeroy won tonight’s members only drawing.
My Stuff Bags sent a nice thank you letter to the club for the donations we make to them. Betty reminded members to continue to collectthe small toiletry items that they have at hotels since we also donate those along with the blankets we make. Betty will continue to collectthose items from members.
Stan Monheit our Treasurer reviews our finances and has sheets with our financial details for interested members.
The ladies only gift was donated by Julia Mildenberger and won by Diana Lohr.
Ron Mosher is our Tech & Safety director and Ron brought several small parts and discussed their use – I believe these were Key Ways.
Ron & Carol Mosher brought a wonderful birthday cake in celebration of Jo and Keith Smith’s birthdays. Jo turned 90 in December and Keith turned90 in February. They actually met at club meetings fell in love and have been married 16 years.
Jon Bury is our Vice President and he is in charge of the club clothing-hats, jackets, tee shirts. He is researching getting our club jackets in the Kellygreen that has been our club color. He is also trying to figure out how to have items available to members without waiting for extended periods of time for people to order.
Harvey Jacobs is our Tour/Activities director this year. Harvey handed out schedules for the tours that are already in the planning stage for this year. Harvey would like anymembers that have ideas for tours to please let him know.
Julia Mildenberger is the continuing secretary for this year and will have board meeting minutes from that month’s board meeting available to any interested members.
Betty Salverson will continue to be our fashion director and will try to have a seminar on purses in the near future.
Carol Mosher has no historian report tonight.
Jim Lank would like to have all articles for the newsletter as soon as possible after the general meeting so he can get the newsletter out to members no later than the 1st of themonth.
Jim Rummel lets us know that there are 47 people and 8 Model A cars at tonight’s meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.

Bob’s Big Boy Brunch January 17, 2015
Who’d have thought that such a simple trip as a meal at Bob’swould be so popular. Come on over and find out for yourself!
To the left we see Alan Bennett informing Steve Kurtz that there is something wrong, something terribly wrong: the steering mechanism that was in this location in Alan’s A400he got from Argentina, seems to be missing.
Sideways tour"On December 29-30 of last year, Bob & Suzi Brown, Steve & Sondra Kurtz, and JohnBury toured in their Model As up to the Solvang area on a year-end wine tasting tour. The
cars performed beautifully (except for Bob almostrunning out of gas). with no break-downs or evenminor adjustments. Oh, sorry...Steve burned out aheadlight bulb on the way back. Babcock Winery,Foley Winery, Koehler Winery, and the Byron tastingroom in Los Olivos were visited by the troop, beingcareful to leave enough time after tasting so as not tocrash our treasures on the way back to the hotel. Everyone can't wait to do it againsoon!!"
Installation banquet January 4, 2015“Mangiare!” We didn’t have to be asked twice as 50+ members and friends gathered at MAGGIANO’S Little
Italy in Woodland Hills to celebrate a new board, another year and each other. The Bill of Faire includedStuffed mushrooms / Bruschetta / Ceaser salad /Tilapia/ Marsala Chicken Parmesan and Tiramisu or Spumonifor desert. We were entertained by Bob who even hadan accompanist for the first hour and a half. Twentyone gala goers were garbed in era fashions (but poorBetty S. was sick and unable to come.) Well fed, weapplauded our new board and at 3:00 we were headinghome. Julia, once again GREAT JOB!
Memorial Run, January 26, 2015 Meeting at Denny’s in WH, nine Model Asand 2 modern cars headed for Calabassas and thegracious hospitality of Susie and Alan Bennett. BothBennett's, recovering from severe colds, had a spread ofcoffee, donuts and lovely Calabassas weather for us.About 10:00 AM, we departed for a circuitous journeyover through Box Canyon into Simi and to TheJunkyard for lunch. The trip was wonderfully put
together by Mike Culp. Thanks, Mike
