• Just passed his test – how does he feel?• In what way might he be nervous?• How might he gain confidence?• If he were to set goals for himself to

improve his driving, what might they be?• In what way do his parents still have

influence?• Should he decide to make rules such as

never speeding or drinking whilst driving?

What if?

• What could change for this young person?• If there are friends in the back of the car• If the friends have not put on seat belts• If a friend says ‘turn the music up’!• If someone says ‘go on, floor it’• If a police car appears in the rear mirror• If their is a contract with his parents to

drive solo for the first six months

• She must get a job to help pay for the car

• Her best friends take the bus, - seems like a cheaper option?

• In what way might she decide to eco-drive and save energy when driving?

• How might speed cameras help her to stay safe as a driver?

• If she offers to give a lift to new friends

• If she is tired after a week of late nights

• If a passenger in the back is drinking

• If her mobile is signalling a new message

• If there is an agreement with parents to only drive in daylight
