DEDICATION

Over the past few years, I've followed my dreams into many subjects to learn how to achieve my goal of being successful and to teach others how to be successful as well. I credit Mr. Napoleon Hill and his book, Think and Grow Rich. I would like to thank a great friend who has chosen to remain anonymous; I could not have developed the unique way of approaching life without him.

I also want to thank my mother, (whom I call ammi - mom). She is not a very educated woman, but she knows a lot about life. She created an environment, whether intentionally or uninten-tionally, that made me think differently about life. Sometimes with anger, sometimes with frustra-tion and sometimes with love; no matter what I did in my life, my mother has always been there to support me. She encouraged me to "Go for it!" She made me ready to face all the dangers of life. Since a young age I have been involved in teaching and guiding students towards success-ful careers. I began my teaching career when I was 18, and since then, have cultivated my blessing for teaching. It was then that I discovered my unique ability as a trainer, teacher and motivator. I discovered a burning desire to help people solve the immediate problems at hand in their lives. Under my mother’s loving environment I became the man I am today. She provided a nurturing environment which gave me the knowledge that I did not have so that I could pass it on to others.

After marrying my lovely wife Uzma, she quickly became my best supporter and business part-ner. We have gone through our share of hardships to get to where we are now. She is a very spiritual person and her spirituality has played a key role in my progress and success. She has taught me to develop a deep faith in God and has inspired me to do great things in life. Living with her made me strong and humble. I pray that He gives me the power and strength to provide people with the wisdom and words that will guide them in a successful journey.

I hereby dedicate this book to Uzma, the love of my life, who has always been there for me.

MEET SALEEM SHEIKH

Hi, my name is Saleem Sheikh. Over the next few days, you'll be reading my book and learning the art of finding a great job. My commitment is to give you the best of what I know, personally and professionally. My book will be your guide to information that has the power to transform how you view yourself, your job and your life. I know this information is true because I have traveled the same path you are on now standing on. I lived similar business challenges and made similar life-changing decisions. Please note that I am not a professional writer. Writers go deep in thought, taking out pearls of wisdom and knowledge and placing them in front of you in the form of

words. I am writing to teach you what life has taught me. My message is about the issue of find-ing employment, based on facts and common sense. I will be explaining my thoughts to improve your job search.

When I look back at my life-long journey, I realize my transformation was easier because of my passion for learning first, and teaching second. During my high school times I started as a pri-vate tutor who taught physics, chemistry and mathematics. I continued teaching until I com-pleted my higher education at NED University of Engineering and Technology, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Since then, I have cultivated my blessing for teaching. It was then that I discovered my unique ability as a trainer, teacher and motivator. I discovered a burning desire in me to help people solve their most urgent problems. During my undergraduate schooling, in addition to teaching and guiding my juniors in their careers, I was involved in various small business partnerships, and various lucrative investment certificates. After a year of working for FIAT Tractors, I joined Manhattan College of New York for a Master's Degree in Engineering, but transferred later to Pittsburg State University, where I was awarded a Presidential Scholarship and graduated with an MBA (Master’s Degree in Business Adminis-tration).

Upon graduation from Pittsburg State University, I joined various companies and explored my future career, but then I realized my motivation towards business and started a computer manu-facturing and distribution business. I owned and managed multiple locations and distribution centers.

Then, in 1997 I started US computers Inc. which later started an educational subdivision (US Technical Institute), a private and postsecondary education center in Fullerton, CA. The Insti-tute was created to educate people who are looking to enhance their careers. We offered sev-eral courses including, but not limited to, MCSE, A+ certification, Cisco certifications, and com-puter assembly. My goal to provide meaningful training to people in large numbers was never accomplished, until I created a special course to help people with disabilities find employment. We ran successful classroom training sessions for our job placement program where we trained disabled students who had been unemployed for a year or more. I helped develop this program for a federal government agency, and was supposed to run it parallel to the EDD program. Dur-ing the duration of our program, we were able to help more than 80% of our students find em-ployment. Despite the success of this program, it was not made mandatory for all of the agen-cy’s clients due to budget restrictions and government red tape. It was only after realizing that the skills and systems we had developed for disabled people could work for anyone that I de-cided to write this book. As a professional, I have seen thousands of résumés and cover letters of people from all walks of life applying for employment. I discovered that most people know they need a job, but they do not know how to effectively and systematically find one. Schools and universities teach their students how to be scholars, but most schools neglect to teach the skills needed to successfully search for and find employment. I will teach you a systematic ap-proach for job search.

I am grateful that you have chosen to purchase my book. Courageously examine who you are now, where you are in your life today, and imagine what it would be like to do something differ-ent to realize your life's potential and dreams. Based on my experience, I am uniquely qualified to guide you, and it is my pleasure to illuminate the alternative pathways for you to achieve your vision of success. Over the past few years, I've followed my dreams into every subject to learn how to achieve my goal of being successful and to teach others how to be successful, as well.

On the professional level, I have developed various plans for solving the unemployment and the housing market dilemma. I have provided my humble solutions to President Obama and Gover-nor Arnold Schwarzenegger for their implementation and use. I have also designed a solution to help auto manufacturers sell their automobiles by revitalizing and restructuring their marketing systems. Three newspapers have printed my proposals, one of which has dedicated a full page to my proposal for solving the housing market dilemma. I hope that you will take the time to in-

7

troduce yourself to me by sending a personal information sheet to me by email or fax. Unlike other writers, I would like to know my audience and receive their feedback.

Warmest regards and best of luck in your job search.

THE GOAL OF THIS BOOK

This book is written to be read more than once. Prior to learning about the skills and tools I have provided, you have been looking for a job like everyone else. My intention is to change the way you seek employment and to perceive the job search.

This book is written carefully to be read from beginning to end, concepts that are introduced in one chapter recur in other chapters, with their meaning and significance by the reader already assimilated with the prior knowledge. The chapters are designed to build around one another in such a way that every word is to be read, every idea is to be considered, and every concept is to be understood and absorbed. Are you serious about getting employed? Are you really serious about finding the job of your dreams? Are you really? Ok, we will see!!!

If you quit reading this book half way because this is not like a traditional book, or if you start skipping sentences, paragraphs or pages, then you should know that you are not at all into look-ing for an ideal dream job. All you are looking for is something to keep you busy so that it looks like you are looking for job. You may be one of those individuals who think that hard work can make you rich. If you really think that people get rich by merely hard work, then forget it. Hard work can merely get you a 9-5 job, but you will never be able to achieve your dream. By the way, do you have a DREAM? YES, I mean DREAM! If not, then you need to dream first. Close this book, close your eyes and just imagine…… Imagine, imagine your dreamimagine your dreamimagine your dreamimagine your dream. I know it is not so easy; life has taken us so far from imagination that we have almost lost the skill to imagine. The world, television and the radio do not even talk about it, but trust me, Dreams do exist and they do affect us.

So, here is what I am going to advise you: every day, before you go to sleep, read this portion of my book once, keep a note pad near you and try to imagine what you really want to be. Forget what you can be, and just think about what you want to be. Develop a burning desire of what comes to mind. Every day, repeat the same thing and within one week you will know one main thing that makes your mind glow with lightening. You will be happy and filled with joy; when you wake up you will be worry free, soft, gentile and full of energy. Once you find exactly what drives you and keeps you happy, then you can stop and think about it. Is that what you have been looking for in a job? If not, then could it be the reason that you are not happy?

Wouldn’t it be devastating toWouldn’t it be devastating toWouldn’t it be devastating toWouldn’t it be devastating to climbclimbclimbclimb more than halfmore than halfmore than halfmore than half----waywaywayway up a mountain,up a mountain,up a mountain,up a mountain, and then realizeand then realizeand then realizeand then realize it's theit's theit's theit's the wrong mountain?wrong mountain?wrong mountain?wrong mountain?

After reading this book, you will have to take some action. You will have to change your view of yourself, your capabilities, your abilities, your environment, your future, and the way you act, talk, feel, behave and perceive employment. You need to modify your thinking about life and employment. If you follow my guidance, there are endless opportunities for your success.

I assume that you have been searching for job so far and have been unsuccessful, which is why you chose to buy my book. Part of the process I am about to teach you will require you to change. I am sure that after reading my book, you will need to change your job-search methods.

There is a saying, “If you continue to do what you have been doing in the past, you will continue getting the same results that you have been getting up to now.” Innovations, advances in tech-nology and science, and new products are all required to change the old way of doing things. So I ask you not to be afraid of change, but to change the way you perceive the job/employment search while reading this book. Let’s assume for a moment that what is mentioned in this book can get you to achieve your dream and employment goals. In order to get new and exciting re-sults, we need to use new and exciting techniques. This book will provide you with systematic instructions on how to get employed. I feel that people worry too much about the future. We use so much energy in worrying about the future, and end up doing little or nothing about it. Instead, we can use the same energy to create our future.

OUR BOOK

I want you to keep a pen or a highlighter with you while you are reading this book, and feel free to underline or highlight anything that appeals to you. That way, you can come back and read it again. Since no one is smart enough to remember everything, and this book will make you think a little differently, a little smartly and a little more honestly, you may have to read it again, maybe even twice or thrice, or maybe not. And yes, you will be writing this book with me, you will be doing some exercises which will make this book yours and mine; thus, our book. I wrote a part of it, and you will write the other part of this book. After you are done, I assure you that you will never find another unique book like this one that is written by you and me.

Some of the concepts in this book may be unique and unexpected. I know that and I have pur-posely put information in places where you might get shocked and not understand why it's placed there. However, I am sure that when you read the book a second or third time you will understand. Someone said that “a person who does not read is no better than a person who can’t

read”. Similarly, “a person, who knows but does not apply the knowledge to be successful, is no better

than the person who knows nothing.” I am going to provide you with all the skills and knowledge, and then you will know what you need to do; all you got to do is practice and apply the know-ledge. Otherwise, you are no better than anyone else. So, after spending money to buy this book, you should get the benefits, too. Fair enough? I am going to give you the recipe’s secret ingredients. I will even provide you with the pressure cooker. I will also tell you how long you need to simmer it at low fire and how long you need to cook it at high fire, and all you have to do is follow directions. At the end, eat the meal and enjoy it!! I think you should be able to handle that, am I right? So let’s see, if you can follow my directions.

THE POWER OF YOUR MIND

You have a very important part of your body, which is located between your ears. Your mind has a capacity to store data and facts a lot more efficiently than a dozen computers. If we at-tempt to create a computer that can do the work of a human mind, it would cost billions of dol-lars, it would take the space of several rooms, and it would take a huge amount of power to op-erate. Moreover, after all that, it will not be able to have the creative powers that God gave you. You may be surprised or shocked to discover a well known physiological fact that our mind and thought play a very important role in our lives. Many specialists believe that anything that we achieve in our lives first start in our thoughts. Then, our subconscious mind works on it and we eventually achieve it. Look around you, look at the chair you are sitting on, look at the room you're in, look at the house you live in, look at the cup you drink your water from. Everything you have around you was at one time someone’s thought; someone thought of the idea of mak-ing these things and then they were brought into existence. Whether it is your own subcons-cious and thoughts or someone else’s, the bottom line is that we have thousands of things around us that are actual materializations of some ones thoughts and wishes.

WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT?

If I were to ask you what kind of work are you looking for, don’t just tell me that you need and want a job; a job is very vague answer. You must have a clear pattern in your mind. Ask your-

12

self where you are headed, and what your exact goal is. Have you visualized what kind of job you really want, not only for today or tomorrow, but for the next twenty or thirty years, as well? You need to begin preparing yourself for a career that will serve you for a long period of time. I want you to promise me that after reading this book (once or maybe twice) you will do your best to know exactly what job you are looking for. I promise you that I will help you achieve and attain the job of your dreams, a job that you qualify for, and a job that will bring you happiness.

IMAGINE

I am now instructing you to take all negative feelings out of your life. Imagine that there is a job waiting for you. That job that's waiting for you is the perfect job that you have been looking for all along and all you need to do is find it. Trust me, you will soon make up your mind to go to work and it will be a matter of few minutes, sometimes hours, before your mind starts producing ideas to help you find that job. Some of you who are reading this book may not have to read it twice, and will know exactly where the job is and how to get it. A few of you will get results even before finishing the entire book. The most effective way of bringing the subconscious mind into practical play is through making mental pictures. Use your imagination to form the perfect image of the job you are looking for. Imagine the exact job, imagine what you would be doing at the job, and the situation as you would like it to exist in physical form. You can call it visualization.

Just imagining something is not enough; you have to go one step further. You have to imagine that you already have the job. Once you follow my directions and imagine the job that you are looking for, you will be working. Also, please note that you need to imagine that you are actually working. If you do it right and get your subconscious to work on it, you will be surprised; your mind, on its own, will manifest the job for you. You must wait patiently while your subconscious assimilates the elements of your problem and let it find the correct solution for you. You must have patience and absolute faith; the subconscious mind will not take the trouble to work for those who do not believe in it. Remember, Imagination is much more powerful than will power.

THE POWER OF PICTURES

Take a look around you, around your home; do you see pictures that are cheerful, happy, suc-cessful? Take a good look around you. You need to surround yourself with items and pictures that show success. See if you have any pictures which show depression, sadness, and defeat. Get rid of those pictures immediately. Take them off your walls and put them in your garbage.

13

Replace them with cheerful, happy, and successful pictures. All successful people have pictures in their home that show positive images.

OPTIONS

After you finish reading this book you will have two options:

• Option 1Option 1Option 1Option 1 -- You do nothing. You read the book and I’ll give you the information you need. If you are not ready to take action, you can continue doing what you have been doing for the last several weeks. Unfortunately, I know some people will do this and I cannot change everyone. I am sorry that you bought my book. This option will cause you to waste valuable time and information.

• Option 2Option 2Option 2Option 2 -- You choose to follow the instructions in this book. You believe that what I have written is true and you start a new way of living your life because you believe in yourself and know that you will get your dream job soon.

THE IMAGE OF SUCCESS

Let’s imagine that you are already a successful person. Why do we have to be successful to start imagining success, can’t we start imagining that we are already successful? Let’s begin doing things that successful people do. I will give you techniques that most successful people have used consistently. From now on, you are going to act, live, and behave like a successful person because you are going to believe in yourself. Yes, believe that you are successful and employed. Believing is a very important and critical part of success.

You may say that you are not employed, but in order to be employed, you need to believe that you are already employed. Your subconscious will do the magic. While you are looking for a job, you should start imagining that you are successful. If you cannot believe that you are employed yet, then at least believe that you will be employed within the next week or month. Start giving orders to your subconscious mind that you will have a job within a week. Don’t question me and be doubtful; you have nothing to lose, so just do it. Believe you are employed. Set a specific date in your mind to be hired, and start working towards that target. You’ll need to incorporate the techniques of success into your life starting today. The simple task of finding a job can be treated like a game, along with rules and secrets. Are there secrets that you can learn? Abso-lutely! Let’s get started with the fundamental skills of finding a job.

14

THE END

This book is a unique book and is therefore started uniquely also. This book is about you, your family, your job, and your future. I believe that this book will be the end of your incorrect as-sumption that you are not employed because you lack formal education, that you cannot find a job because of your lack of experience, that your are having a hard time getting employed be-cause of your lack of transportation, that the economy is bad, or that the entire world is against you. This book will bring an end to your negative thoughts and you will now start thinking with positive thoughts that will dramatically change and improve your life.

This book will be the end of all of your negative thinking. This book is the end of defeat and be-ing defeated. This book can put an end to your tendency to give in to negative people and to be influenced by their negativity. This book will give you all you need to achieve your dream job. That job that you have been dreaming of all your life. A job that will provide for your financial needs and that will give you a sense of accomplishment, pride, and satisfaction.

This is the end of your negative thinking and after you end this book you will start a new begin-ning of a new and happy life. Of course, you will be employed soon, as you finish reading this book.

CHAPTER 1 – PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Personal Development is the practice of self-improvement. It is a proactive choice to engage in activities that serve to help you become a better person and live a more fulfilling life. Personal development has made a difference in my life and I wanted to share this with you, because my experience tells me that people who practice personal development tend to be healthier, hap-pier, and wealthier. Although this book is not about personal development, I urge you to seek a source of personal development that will give you the spiritual fortitude to help you navigate the difficult process of searching for employment. Make no mistake, looking for a job is not an easy process. Looking for a job is a full-time job. Its hard work, and requires dedication and attention to the smallest detail. You cannot find a job by glancing at the wanted ads published in your lo-cal paper every morning. As you will learn in this book, implementing all of the techniques sug-gested in this book will most likely take most of your time. Much like working at your full-time at your job does now.

HOW TO BEGIN YOUR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Start by changing the people who surround you. Join a club such as: The Rotary International, The United States Junior Chamber (Jaycees), or The Toastmasters International. The point here is to encourage you to be around successful people. Begin your personal development by joining elite clubs that won’t cost you a fortune in membership dues. Clubs such as:

• The smile and compliment clubThe smile and compliment clubThe smile and compliment clubThe smile and compliment club - Start smiling. Also, compliment other peoples’ smiles and smile whenever you have an opportunity to do so. Smile and think success, do not think failure, and make extreme efforts to put only positive thoughts into your mind. Do not let negative self-depriving thoughts come into your mind.

• Professional organizationsProfessional organizationsProfessional organizationsProfessional organizations - Join at least one professional organization group in your lo-cal area of specialty; this will provide you stimulation in your preferred field. Also join one

24

group outside your occupational interest, this will broaden your thinking and will allow you to see the bigger picture; after all networking is the best way to find a job.

• SelfSelfSelfSelf----confidenceconfidenceconfidenceconfidence clubclubclubclub - Before you can sell your abilities to someone else it is important to sell them to yourself. Look into yourself and see if you would hire you. Place yourself in the shoes of the interviewer and see how he would look at you. What would he see in you, what does he think is so special about you?

• ConfidenceConfidenceConfidenceConfidence - This is probably something you lack at this time; it might be because of your current situation of being unemployed, or your need for finding a better job. Or, it may be the media’s endless bombardment, telling us that there are no jobs in the market right now.

DETERMINE WHAT YOUR SALARY WILL BE 5 YEARS FROM NOW

Someone once said that “your salary five years from now will be the average of people who sur-round you”. Can you see what kinds of people surround you now? So, if you are you good in simple arithmetic, can you average out the salary of your five closest friends? Is this what you want to be making five years from now? If not, then change the friends you associate yourself with. I am not telling you to lose your friends, I am telling you to make new friends who are suc-cessful so their positive energy will rub off on you. Do not surround yourself with negative people. Choose people who are optimistic and enthusiastic about life. Choose people who will help to build a good self image, one that is worthy of true confidence.

A JOB OR A CAREER

By the way, are you looking for a job, or do you want a career? Do you know the difference be-tween the two? A job is a paid position requiring the employee to have specific attributes and

entry level skills which enable a person to perform tasks in an organ-ization either part-time or full-time for a short or long duration, and usually paying entry level wages. A career, or trade, is the sequence and variety of occupations (paid and unpaid) in the same field, which one undertakes throughout a lifetime. A career usually requires higher skills and higher education for which the employee com-mands a higher earning potential. In other words, a career is a life-long journey which requires dedication, serous thought, preparation

25

and higher studies to obtain higher level skills. A career may provide for you a series of higher paying jobs that will provide a sense of satisfaction, pride, and achievement for you. A well planned career is the ultimate source of prosperity, freedom, and financial security. Working in a successful career is the direct source of financial rewards such as a home, an automobile, a vacation, or travel. A successful career will give you the unique feeling of achievement and suc-cess.

Most people want a great career that they can look forward to working in. Unfortunately, too many adults settle for less by taking the first job thrown at them. There was a survey conducted that asked people why they go to work and most people responded by saying, “Because every-one else does.” Too many of us do not know what our dreams are in reality. Not knowing our goal means that we cannot achieve it. I want to help guide you in setting your own goals and building the desire to achieve each of them. I will provide you with resources that will create a pathway for you to reach your goal. I hope that after reading my book, you will believe in your-self and your capabilities.

At times, there is a higher cost for us to do things that have a higher value to our lives than what we initially see. There is always a reason behind a reason. If we dig deep within, we will find the reason for doing something that is more appealing and more convincing, and sometimes it can be so strong that it will keep us working for hours and hours to find an exact solution. I had a reason to write this book, other than to just make some money. For several days during the last few months, while writing my book, I was up all night, and still had enough energy to go to work the next morning because my reasons went beyond money.

My reason was to help people and to do good for others. That was my motivation, which kept me up all night long, several times, several days, even without any kind of caffeinated or energy drink. My body new that I was up for a mission and it did not give me any aches or pain for the nights that I was up late.

The reason that I'm writing all this is to ask you to read the next 3 questions. I'm going to ask and answer those questions instantaneously without any delay and in small, to the point an-swers. This will make you realize the exact details, the stronger or more motivational reasons for you which will keep you guided and under control to find a job and not give up until you get one.

26

WHY DO YOU NEED A JOB? A WHY STRATEGY!

I’m trying to help you realize a bigger cause for your job that will keep motivating you to the

point until you are employed. Let me give you an example, before I ask you the 3 questions.

Let’s imagine, hypothetically, that you were my student, and I’m your teacher, and I ask you

these questions. Let’s all imagine the answers that I provide below are correct.

Q 1. Why do you need a job? A 1: To make money. Q 2. Why do you need money? A 2: To be secure. Q 3. Why do you need security? A 3: To help my family live a good life. Q 4. Why do you want to help your family live a good life? A 4: I was poor, growing up, and I don’t want my kids to suffer the same. Q 5. Why don’t you want your family to go through the same? A 5: I love my family and I want to see them healthy and happy. Q 6. Why do you want to see them healthy and happy? A 6: That’s my life mission. I want to do things that will make my family comfortable. Q 7. Why do you want your family to be comfortable? ................

As you can see from the above series of questions, a normal person will be able to go deep in-

side to find the cause for any problem; a reason that is much more appealing to his/her noble

cause and is more sentimental and sensitive enough that it can keep him/her up all night, just to

find a solution.

Normally, when you are at question number 5, 6 or 7 above, people will answer them very sen-

sitively. Somebody may even cry because it’s so personal to them that they don’t want to re-

spond.

Now, if you realize that you need a job because of your love for your familyyour love for your familyyour love for your familyyour love for your family, or because you

want to make your family comformake your family comformake your family comformake your family comfortabletabletabletable and if you constantly keep that in mind, you will be highly

27

energetic, more motivated to work hard and to get employed, rather than just thinking that you

need a job for money.

Now, you need to keep remembering and reminding yourself that you need a job because you

love your family, or because you want to make your family comfortable. Trust me; this will be a

much stronger dose of caffeine to keep you up all night, searching for a job online. This would

not happen if you think that you are looking for a job just for money. Let me give you a recent

example that I experienced: A lousy movie, but the summary of the movie is below

A person wanted to be a movie star. He did his best efforts that he could, but was some how

losing the opportunity to be a star, every single time. He thought that he was doing his best.

However, he would always stumble somewhere during the process of trying to be a star. Every

single time, something would come up or something would happen, and he would lose his op-

portunity. It was so bad that at one time he became homeless and started sleeping in his car.

He had no money to feed himself; just to survive, and to earn a little bit of money, he started

teaching dance classes to kids.

His girlfriend had faith in him and wanted him to be successful, but she could not figure out how

to help him. One day, he tried to respond to a question that he was asked during the rehearsal

test: why do you want to be a movie star? He, himself, could not figure out, but he realized and

remembered his childhood when his dying mother wanted and wished for him to become a su-

per star. This flash of memory changed him forever. Now, he could answer the question honest-

ly, deep from his heart. He told the world that he wants to be a star because his mom wanted

him to be a star. The next performance that he did for his dance competition was so good that

he beat every single competitor, including the well known music groups, and he became the

STAR. Suddenly, success became attracted to him. He accomplished whatever he wanted to

achieve. People who were ridiculing him that he cannot be a star started to wish him good luck.

Then, the day came that he went to the theatre to watch his own movie where he was acting as

the hero; he was a star. He became what his mother had wished for, and it meant the most to

him.

28

He, too, had dreamed of becoming a star, but that was only because a star made a lot of mon-

ey. However, when he started to create a burning desire within himself to become a star be-

cause he wanted to fulfill his mom’s dream, he changed the outcome. Money was not a concern

to him anymore. What was important was his mother looking down at him from Heaven and

making sure that he is successful.

I am also sure that money is not the reason to get a job and to spend time and effort to read my

book. So, let’s try to find a reason behind the reason deep inside you to see why in the world

are you looking for a job and still not getting one.

Let’s start with a Q & A (Question and Answer), see example on Page 26.

Q 1. Why do you need a job?

A 1. I need a job because I need (write a concise answer)

Please fill out the above answers and email them to me at [email protected].

I hope that Answers 5, 6, & 7 are cable of keeping you up all night and keeping you motivated

so that you get a job within 7 days after reading this book and applying all the strategies men-

tioned. Also, don’t forget to download the free Resource Guide which has more than one-

thousand websites for a job search, categorized for you.

Now, I would like you to understand what happened above. I helped you find a reason that isn’t

always visible, merely because we don’t know or we don’t explore ourselves; thus, we conti-

nuously fail to achieve our goals. There’s only one person and one person only who can help

you achieve every single dream that you can ever have. That person is YOU. You need to be

motivated, trained, energetic, and sincere with yourself in order to achieve every dream that you

are capable of. You need to be your #1 supporter! I once read a book, and I don’t remember

where, but I remember 2 small stories from it.

Story 1: There was a person who was known to be a very good salesman. He would sell any-

thing and everything and he would sell it in high volume. No one was able to beat him. Some-

one asked him, “What is the secret to your success?” His answer was very simple and I would

like to share it with you.

30

He said that most salespeople take the job and try to sell the product to their customers, not

realizing that in order for them to sell something to someone else, they have to first sell it to

themselves. He said that when he takes an assignment, he would spend time to try to sell the

product to himself, and if he was not convinced, he would reject the assignment. However, once

he was able to sell the product to himself, then he was ready to go out into the world and sell it

to anyone and everyone without having a doubt in his mind because he knew the product; he

knew the quality; he knew the benefit; he knew inside and out the item that he wanted to sell.

There’s nothing in the world that can stop him. He was known to sell anything and everything

that he believed in from socks to high-level insurance, annuity, multi-unit housing, whatever it

took; as long as he can sell it to himself, he can sell it to anyone. He said that if every salesper-

son first tried to sell it to himself, then tried to sell it to others, the outcome would be dramatically

different.

Now, you need to ask a friend to do a mock interview (Chapter 10) with you, complete simple

questions that are mentioned in this book, and record yourself. Then for a moment, change

shoes and become the employer. Now, watch your own video and answer one simple question:

If you were the employer interviewing yourself, would you hire you? If the answer is “no,” what

can you do to change and improve so that you will sell yourself to yourself?

Now, let me tell you another short story.

Story 2: A new insurance salesman goes in to meet the wealthy businessman, Mr. Smith

(please excuse me for making up a name, but I don’t remember the exact one). He asked Mr.

Smith for help and requested names of some of his friends to whom he can sell insurance to.

Since he was a new salesman with a lot of failures, he needed some help. Mr. Smith went in-

side to his office and came back with names, phone numbers, and addresses of about 5-7

people, and gave them to the salesman, while wishing him good luck. The salesman left with

confidence that would be able to sell insurance to a few people. Within 2 days, the salesman

went back to Mr. Smith’s office with a smile on his face and told the secretary that he was suc-

cessful in selling insurance to every single person that Mr. Smith referred. Now, he was back to

get a new list of 7 people so that he can sell more. He was very thankful and appreciative of Mr.

31

Smith and thanked his secretary, who was also very happy and congratulated him. Mr. Smith

then came out from his office and congratulated him, as well. The salesman then slowly and

politely asked for another list. Mr. Smith said that it was not a problem and looked at his secre-

tary, who took out the telephone book and started writing 7 random names, with their addresses

and phone numbers. The salesman was looking at it and he said that he did not want a random

list, but a list of people who Mr. Smith could recommend, and already knew so that it would be

easier for him to sell insurance. Mr. Smith gave the salesman some astonishing news. He said,

“Do you know that the list I gave you 2 days ago was also created randomly from the telephone

book?" I had no clue who those people are. Do you also know that the only reason why you

were able to successfully sell the insurance to every single one of them was because of the fact

that you thought it would be easy and you had confidence that you would be able to sell to

them, and you thought that those people would be easy on you, because they know me. But

trust me, I did not know them at all. They might know me because I am famous, for which I have

no clue of, but the only reason you got the business was because of your confidence and belief

in yourself that you would get it. Now, I would suggest that you keep the same confidence alive

and to take this new list and make sure that you sell insurance to every single person on this list

and the next time you need a new list of 7 people that I know, you can go to your own telephone

book and make another list. You do not have to come to me. The place you need to go to is to

reach inside your mind and heart and find confidence that you can do it. Trust me, you will do it.”

I don’t remember the name of the salesperson, but I do remember that he became an expert in

selling insurance; a top notch salesman. The key was that he had confidence that he can sell.

You are reading the book to sell yourself to your prospective employer. Create and develop that

confidence, trust yourself, and your faith will make you successful. Don’t listen to Fox, CNN, or

any newspaper that talks about the unemployment rate skyrocketing and feeding the viewers

discouraging messages, with all the negatives about the economy. Turn the television off! Open

your mind, open your eyes, dig within yourself, and bring your confidence back.

I want to hear from you. I want to know that you got employed. Pick up your telephone book,

make a list of 7 employers, pretend that I referred them to you. When you talk to them, tell them

32

that Saleem Sheikh referred them to you. It will not hurt. Be confident. Go and talk to them. Ap-

ply for their job offer. Tell your prospective employer about all the qualities that you possess and

the skills that you will bring them. Make him/her realize that he/she needs you more than you

need him/her. Be successful in selling yourself to yourself first, and then go sell yourself to any-

one you can think of. Trust me, there’s nothing that can stop you. Disappointment, defeat, sad-

ness, and all that negativity will be history.

After you achieve all of your dreams, make sure not to keep it a secret. Tell your friends, your

family, and even your employer at a later time, what made you get employed. Spread the word

and help others gain confidence in themselves. Confidence is one of the main keys to success.

WHAT'S THE NEXT STEP? A PROACTIVE APPROACH!

Unlike the previous heading, Why Do You Need a Job? A WHY Strategy! (which helps you dig

within yourself to find a deeper motive), this strategy will help you do something similar, but

maybe in reverse fashion. Let me give you an example.

My garage is dirty, and I know that I need to clean it. I have several boxes in my garage, filled

with clothes and other objects, which need to be donated and given it to David, but it’s taking

me too much time to clear up the mess. Whenever I pass by, I tell myself that I need to clean

the garage, and at the same time I delay it, but I don’t realize that I am delaying it because of

some reason that is beyond my control. The fact of the matter is that I don’t have David’s phone

number. David is the husband of Jennifer, whose phone number I also don’t have. My wife

knows Lisa, who is Jennifer’s friend. Most likely, my wife has Lisa’s phone number, who has

Jennifer’s phone number, who will be able to talk to her husband, David, to tell him to pick up

the boxes from my garage. The problem is that when I pass by my garage, every single day, the

only thing I see is that my garage is a mess, and I need to clean it. Whereas, the fact of the mat-

ter is that when I see this mess, I should think in my mind that I need to talk to my wife and get

Lisa’s phone number. However, I never get to that point. Even if I realize that I need to talk to

David to pick up the boxes, I still don’t realize that in order to talk to him, I need to talk to Jenni-

fer, and to talk to Jennifer, I need to talk to Lisa, and to talk to Lisa I need to talk to my wife. It’s

so easy; the primary step can be taken at the dinner table, in the office, at lunch, or whenever I

33

want. I will ask my wife for Lisa’s phone number, which is very simple to do. However, since it is

a fourth step down the task list, I don’t realize it. Days and months have passed, and I have not

yet asked my wife a simple question, “What is Lisa’s phone number?”

Trust me, there’s no problem between me and my wife; we talk all day long for hours at a time,

but we always forget to talk about Lisa. We have even talked about cleaning the garage several

times during the last several months, but we still did not realize the fact that all we need is to

take the next step. What I’m telling you now is that you know the fact that you need a job. You

also know the fact that there are jobs out there. I have also provided you with a list of over a

thousand websites, categorized by nature in type of job in each industry. All you need to do is to

find 1 job that you are qualified for, customize your résumé and cover letter for it, apply for it,

follow up, and prove to the employer that you are the one that he/she is looking for. There’s

nothing in the world that can stop you from doing so. No one controls you but you and God. Ask

Him to help you achieve your goal. If God wants to give you what you strive for, what you be-

lieve that you qualify for, He will bless you with more than what you ask for. Also, when you do

get more than what you are asking for, please make sure to do something back for the commu-

nity. Share what you learned, and help me achieve my goal. I need your help to multiply, and

quadruple my efforts. Help your friends, your family, and anybody who you know needs help in

getting employed. Let’s make this world a better place for you, and for me, and for the entire

human race. People are dying. If you care enough for the living, make a little space, make a bet-

ter place – Michael Jackson’s song, “Heal the World.”

I hope that all of you who are reading this book have seen Michael Jackson’s concert Live in

Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour, if you have not seen this video, it will soon be available on my

website for you to purchase. I specifically liked 2 songs: “Heal the World” and “Man in the Mir-

ror.” When Michael Jackson was singing “Man in the Mirror,” about 12 people fainted with joy

and grief, many others were in tears, crying, and everyone else was screaming. Whenever I

watch this song, I feel like crying, and sometimes tears come to my eyes, but when they don’t, I

am crying deep inside. I want you to watch it, and cry with me. Also in the video, there was a

man on a wheel chair, who was lifted along with his wheelchair by hundreds of people to show

34

his appreciation for the song. Michael Jackson did his best, he even hit himself badly, fell on the

floor, begged the people to do whatever it takes to change the world, and the change starts from

you, the man in the mirror. The person you see in the mirror is you. Look at your eyes, deep in-

side, while you’re standing in front of the mirror, tell yourself that you are going to change. Once

each one of you does, the world will be a better place. I want to be the one to sparkle this inspi-

ration inside you. Also, “Man in the Mirror” is special to me because at the end of the song, Mi-

chael Jackson uses a small rocket lift device to fly over the audience and to come close to them

and then he disappears. My wife, Uzma, designed the special project for the small rocket lift de-

vice back in Pakistan for her Bachelor’s Degree project. I’m sure that this propeller was a prac-

tical application of what she learned during her Bachelor’s Degree, but this reminds me of the

time when I was helping her do research for her project, and waiting for her project to be com-

pleted so she can come and join me here in the United States. That was the only thing left that

was keeping us apart from getting married. That may be the reason why I fell in love with this

song, or maybe the lyrics of the song are so good, but who knows? See for yourself and keep

the lyrics in front of you while you watch the video (the entire lyrics are included in Appendix G

of this book). I will give you a special part of it here.

SELF-CONFIDENCE

In guiding you through the job search process I will be asking you to do one of the hardest and most difficult things you may have done in your life. I will be asking you to have a high degree of confidence in yourself because in order for you to find a job I am going to become a salesman who will sell a very unique product in the market – Yourself. You are the product we are going to market. Self-confidence is your perception of yourself and it has an enormous impact on how others perceive you. Although many of the factors affecting self-confidence are beyond your control, there are a number of things you can consciously do to build self-confidence. Please use the following suggested strategies to reach the levels of self-confidence that you will need in order for you to reach your highest potential possible.

• Dress SharpDress SharpDress SharpDress Sharp - Use this to your advantage by taking care of your personal appearance. In most cases, significant improvements can be made by bathing and shaving frequently, wearing clean clothes, and being cognizant of the latest styles. Dress the way your em-ployer would want you to dress. Do this every morning as you begin your job search. This will help to put you in a working mood.

• Walk FasterWalk FasterWalk FasterWalk Faster - People with confidence walk quickly, so increase your self-confidence by walking 25% faster. This will make you look and feel more important and it will also in-crease your self-confidence.

• Keep a Good PostureKeep a Good PostureKeep a Good PostureKeep a Good Posture – People with a good posture feel more confident. So, from now please stand up straight, keep your head up, and make eye contact. You will make a positive impression on others and will instantly feel more alert and empowered.

• Your Personal CommercialYour Personal CommercialYour Personal CommercialYour Personal Commercial - Write a 30-60 second commercial that highlights your strengths and goals. Then, recite it in front of the mirror aloud (or inside your head if you prefer) whenever you need a confidence boost. Also, record it if possible, and play it as often as you can. Before you know it, it will become second nature to you, and you will be able to sell your product at any given moment.

36

• Be Be Be Be GratefulGratefulGratefulGrateful - Set aside time every day to mentally list everything you have to be grateful for in your life. The best time to do this may be at the end of your day, when you are get-ting ready to go to sleep. Take a few minutes and think of past achievements, skills, education, relationships, your health, and all of the positive things in your life.

• Praise People Around YouPraise People Around YouPraise People Around YouPraise People Around You - Get in the habit of praising people around you. Your friends, your relatives, and people you come in contact with during your daily activities should be complimented for their positive contribution to your life. By recognizing and praising the best in other people, you indirectly bring out the best in yourself and increase your self-confidence.

• Make Yourself More VisibleMake Yourself More VisibleMake Yourself More VisibleMake Yourself More Visible – Whether you find yourself in a classroom environment, in the office, or in public assemblies sit in the front row. This practice will help you to boost your self-confidence. You will also be more visible to the important people talking from the front of the room.

• Be heardBe heardBe heardBe heard – Make an effort to speak up at least once during every group discussion, you may find yourself in (classroom discussions, meetings, and discussions with your friends and relatives). This practice will help you become a better public speaker, more confi-dent in your own thoughts, and will prepare you to answer questions from your future employers during the interview.

• Physical FitnessPhysical FitnessPhysical FitnessPhysical Fitness - Having the discipline to work out not only makes you feel better, but it also creates positive momentum that you can build on during the rest of the day. Physi-cal fitness has a positive effect on self-confidence because it improves your physical ap-pearance, it gives you energy, and it makes you feel more confident about yourself, your appearance, and your image. Become more confident, stay physically fit, and work out every day.

• Help OthersHelp OthersHelp OthersHelp Others – There will always be other people around us that need our help. Seek out opportunities to help those less fortunate. Set a few hours during the week to do charity work as a volunteer in your local community. Feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, vis-it the elderly, buy groceries for someone in need, babysit for a mother, become a volun-teer at red cross, spend some time with illiterate people, teach them, offer free training for the skill you might have to your local church, mosque or synagogue, help school kids

37

cross the road when school is over, be a big brother for an orphan, or take a fatherless child to a park. I am sure you can find several other ideas along this line. The opportuni-ties for us to make a positive contribution to the world and to help others in the process are all around us. Focusing on others’ needs will increase your self-confidence and will allow you to contribute with maximum efficiency. The more you contribute to the world the more you’ll be rewarded with personal success and recognition. I like one of Michael Jackson’s (The King of Pop) songs which relates to helping the world around us; it is a very famous song, I really like what it says, and I would like to share it with you. Here it is:

• Stop wasting your timeStop wasting your timeStop wasting your timeStop wasting your time - Everything that goes into your mind has an effect on you. Your mind records each and every little thing you see, so in order to keep your mind fresh and positive you need to avoid pornography, after seeing these types of movies you are sex-ually stimulated, but deep inside you will see yourself as being less respected. So, this is not the time to lower your self-respect. You must avoid any possibility and instance that will lower your self-respect. As you may agree, it is impossible to see mankind at its worst and not feel that your own feeling has diminished. Most X rated films are adver-tised to be adult films but in reality they are for immature and insecure audiences. I am sure that you are not one of them, and if you were, you are going to change yourself NOW.

Adultery, trial marriages, wife swapping, and at the end of the episode you still do not know what is going to happen tomorrow. Tomorrow someone in your favorite soap opera show will be in trouble, headed for trouble or getting out of trouble. If you keep on looking at negative things in life you will easily associate them to your normal life and after some time you will start thinking nega-tives and “what if’s”, just like they do in the soaps. By the way, stop reading your daily horoscope. Reading the horoscope can be harmful to you because it takes away your ability to take action. Do not read your horoscope, even if for fun. It is not only a waste of your time, but it will make you believe in things which do not exist. The bible says the ho-roscope is Satan’s, so when you read the daily horoscope, you are reading Satan’s Daily NEWS. Stop reading the horoscope, period.

They look in the mirror and they order themselves to achieve their goals. People even tell themselves in the mirror to fix their sickness and surprisingly enough they heal without any medicine. Many people get confused and discouraged be-cause they let other people confuse them and they listen to anyone they can, except for themselves. They believe all the gossip, rumors, and news media and they forget to use their own fine judgment.

HOW TO DEVELOP SELF-CONFIDENCE

Let’s stop and think for a moment. Have you ever planned a vacation? First, you got the idea to go on a trip, and then you decided when and where you wanted to go. Shortly, you began to visualize yourself in the mountains or by the beach, or in a new city. Then, in a few days your vacation turned out just as planned. Do you know what happened? You first visualized it, then you believed in it, and finally it was materialized. If your mind can manifest a visit to the beach, it is easy to believe that your mind can manifest a job. Once you believe, God will create path-ways and your subconscious mind will come up with the means to get employed. Yes, my book will help you too, but I am insignificant if God does not want you to and/or if you do not take ap-propriate action you will not get a job. Trust me. Nothing can go against God’s will.

HOW TO DEVELOP A STRONG BELIEF SYSTEM

Stand in front of a full length mirror, if you do not have a full size mirror then a reasonably sized mirror which shows you from the waist up will be fine.

Look into your eyes. Stand erect, bring your heals together, pull in your stomach, keep your chest out, and raise your head up. Stand at attention as the army would say. Now breathe deep-ly, and look deeply into your eyes. Tell yourself “I am going to get job as a _________________________________within the next 30 days.” (Fill in the blank, if you are going to be a salesperson you should say, “I am going to get a job as a salesperson within one month”.)

Believe in yourself, you can apply everything taught in this book within 30 days; try not to change it to 60 or 90 days. Make this a ritual, practice doing this at least twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. You will notice that within a few days you will have developed a deep sense of confidence. Believe that you are going to be successful, and that no one in this world can stop you. Keep this practice secret if possible; if you tell people, you put yourself at risk of being made fun of for being different, and your confidence may be shattered. Confidence is not innate. Let us dispose of these fallacies and distractions and first try to gain confidence through our own practice and thoughts; let us try to sell you to yourself.

Stand in front of the mirror and take the following steps. (For the sake of wording I am going to use my name, Saleem, you can replace it with your name). Repeat this in front of a mirror and once without a mirror on a daily basis. You may have friends and family who might make fun of

40

you for doing this, so it is advised to do it in solitude. Remember, it does not matter what other people think of you; if they care about your well-being they should help you improve your self-image. Confidence is not innate, let’s dispose of these fallacies and distractions and first try to gain confidence through our own practice and thoughts, let’s try to sell you to yourself…

Stand in front of the mirror and take the following steps. (For the sake of wording I am going to

use my name, Saleem, you can replace it with your name).

SELF-CONFIDENCE IS THE KEY

Self-confidence is the key to success in any new venture. A lack of confidence can be traced to a mismanaged memory. Your brain is like a bank; everyday you deposit valuable information into your mind bank; these mental deposits grow and become your memory. When you settle down and think about a problem you can easily trace the source of the problem. Your memory bank will automatically answer and supply pieces of information relating to the situation at hand. Your memory then is a basic supplier of new thoughts. Try to deposit only positive thoughts. Let’s face it; everyone encounters plenty of unpleasant, embarrassing situations. Unsuccessful and successful people deal with situations in directly opposite ways. Unsuccessful people take things to heart. They dwell on unpleasant situations and they do not take away their mind from

Saleem, you have happiness, progress and prosperity. (So talk happiness, Talk Progress, Talk Prosperity).

You have a lot of skills, Saleem, a lot of job skills. So put your skills to work. Saleem, you are enthu-siastic, let your enthusiasm show. You look good Saleem, and you feel good. Stay good and keep feeling good. Saleem, you were a great man yesterday and you are a great man today and you are going to be an even greater man tomorrow. Saleem, go forward and achieve all of your goals!!

Good Luck Saleem, follow your dream, make it come true, and take action now!!!

them. Confident and successful people, however, don’t give negative things too much thought. Successful people specialize in placing positive thoughts into their memory bank.

YOUR COMMITMENT TO A BETTER FUTURE

This book is all about changing your mindset. Are you willing to do whatever it takes to improve your chances of being employed? Changing your mindset takes a commitment. Make a contract with yourself to focus every day on doing whatever it takes to make a permanent, positive change in how you conduct your job search and your life. Instead of asking self-defeating ques-tions about how long it takes to get employed and why the economy is not getting better or how many résumés you have to send before someone actually calls you for an interview, focus on what you must do to become more hirable. Reading this book will give you guidance on how to implement systems, strategies and techniques. The first step, however, must come from within. Making a commitment to change is paramount to your success. Here is a contract that you can make with yourself. Read the words carefully and visualize how your life will change when you make a total commitment to yourself and follow through to do whatever it takes to make your dreams come true.

Please take a few minutes and read the contract on the following page. Be sure to understand it. Once you understand it, be sure to make it a part of your daily life. Only by making this type of serious commitment to your future career will you be able to truly become successful.

A CONTRACT WITH MYSELF

I currently feel great anticipation about my future. I have never felt like this before. This time will be dif-ferent, as I will take action and follow through completely on my commitment to myself. By purchasing this book, I have already taken the first step toward improving the quality of my life and getting em-ployed forever. Today I, __________________________, commit to continuing the process. I choose to take serious action and get employed. I will make every effort and action to help me get successfully employed, in a more rewarding career and fulfilling life. I will achieve this by continually implementing the systems and strategies I will learn in this book. I also promise that once I learn the special secrets disclosed to me I will share the information I learned. I will share information taught in this book with all of my friends, family, neighbors, classmates and people I know who might need help in finding employ-ment. They too can purchase this book and benefit from the strategic information. I will not waver on this commitment to myself. Today, I agree to do this.

THE POWER OF CHARITY

According to former US Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, his father John D. Rockefeller gave each of his five children an allowance. They got 25 cents a week and had to earn the rest of the money they got. Nelson raised vegetables and rabbits to earn part of his money. In addition, Rockefeller senior required all the boys to keep personal daily account books. They were re-quired to budget their allowance money and their earnings as follows: give 10 percent of their income to charity, save 10 percent, and account for the rest. They had to balance their account books every month, and be able to tell what happened to every penny they earned. The Rock-efeller kids were taught a specific pattern for spending their money. Imagine the discipline it took to live up to this philosophy; earning what you have, giving away the first 10 percent, paying yourself next (save 10 percent), living on the rest and accounting for every penny. If you can understand this model, then you understand the power of discipline and the power of sharing your good fortune with those who are less fortunate.

WEALTH STEWARDSHIP

The Rockefellers, like most great American billionaires, looked upon their wealth as a sort of stewardship. They believed the money wasn’t theirs and that it belonged to God. They were the caretakers of the money which was to be used for the betterment of others, while thoroughly enjoying the benefits of their good fortune. With money being a gift from God, they had no prob-lem giving back 10 percent. God to them was their best silent partner. You will be surprised to know how many successful and wealthy people feel the same way.

CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME

You too can give back to God and to the community. If you do not have a job or money, I ask that you do whatever you can to help others. I am sure that if you look through your homes, you will find items and clothing that you don’t use that others may find valuable. For those of you who have jeans or dress clothes that you are waiting to wear after losing weight, give them to the Salvation Army because they may be out of style by the time you do. Anything you give will be exchanged with a receipt that provides a deduction for God to bless you. Because I am a person that happens to embrace the stewardship concept I have decided to donate 10 percent of revenue received by the sales of this book to my favorite charitable organization. As I am a

43

firm believer that God is my silent partner in this venture, and I am more than willing to share my good fortune with those who are less fortunate around me.

I INVITE YOU TO SHARE YOUR WEALTH

Now let’s see; below, I would like you to write down a realistic salary that you expect to earn from your new job:

Now let’s imagine that you are able to get a job with a salary that is higher than the amount you stated above. Would you be willing to give away 10 percent of your monthly income to charity? What about an additional 10 percent of the monthly income you earn above and beyond the salary you are expecting, can you give away 10 percent of the additional salary to a charity of your choice? Let me give you an example: Imagine you were expecting a monthly salary of $5,000 per month, and after reading this book, implementing my ideas and by the grace of God, you end up getting a job where you get paid $6,000 per month. This is $1,000.00 per month of extra income. Now, 10 percent of your salary is $600 and 10 percent of the additional income is $100. You can choose to donate $600 per month or $700 ($600 + $100) per month to a charity of your choice. Regardless of the amount donated, you will be making more than expected. If the money is a result of God’s blessing, then it would only be right if 10 percent of the money is given back. If you don’t have the money to donate now, then just imagine and commit yourself to giving back in the future. You do not have to agree with my proposal to donate to charity. However, I strongly agree that helping those in need will allow God to help you in several areas, including getting a job. If you don’t know a charity or cause to reach out to, I will gladly help you find someone in need.

I don’t want you to think that this is an ordinary book, or a process of converting words into your desired outcome just to please you. This book wasn’t written for your amusement or to give you

EXPECTED SALARY By following the methods provided to me in this book, I am expecting to earn a monthly sala-ry of $____________________. This expectation is realistic and it reflects the current market conditions as well as the value of my experience, education, and qualifications.

44

temporary relief from the hardships of job searching. Listen; it’s absolutely not. You and I, WE are here to make a DENT in the universe, otherwise why even be here! We are creating a completely new stream of consciousness, as an art or a poem, and that is how you would have to think of this. We are rewriting the history of current human thoughts; this is what we are doing, this is why we are here, and YOU are a part of this momentous and monumental move-ment.

After reading this book, hopefully you will have it figured out. It’s about empowerment, about believing in yourself, and believing that it’s YOU who can make a difference in not only your life but in the lives of others around you; it is much easier than you think. The difference comes from within, an external stimulus conjures thoughts, which create a vibration and causes you to manifest what you are communicating within yourself, and in turn you reflect these thoughts to the outside world. I will help you control your innermost feelings and the way that you communi-cate with yourself and with others. It’s like a country where the army generals initiate a coupe to overthrow the government; the first thing they take over is the way people communicate: the radio, TV, news paper. Thus, communication is information and information is power.

HOW TO HELP OTHERS NOW

Being able to help others is so important in helping you develop the strength and the self-confidence that will carry you through the job searching process that I am willing to help you get started on the road to helping other people that may be less fortunate than you are. So, if you refer anyone else to purchase this book I will give them a 10% discount and I will pay you a 10% referral fee for your efforts. So you can be earning some money while you are looking for work.

DONATION DECLARATION

I have decided to donate 10 percent of the proceeds from the sale of this book to a selected charitable non-profit organization. If you prefer, your referral fee can also be sent under your name to any charitable organization of your choice. Simply send me an e-mail along with your referral and I will be more than happy to make a donation under your name. In your e-mail mes-sage simply state: “I have decided to donate 10 percent of the revenue received from the sale of this book to my favorite charitable organization” (Be sure to provide mailing address and tele-phone number). I will be more than happy to send them a donation under your name and ac-cording to your instructions. Let this be my small contribution to your self-confidence.

45

THE POWER OF PRAYER

Now, if you are atheist or agnostic or in any way sensitive about the subject of God, please skip the next four pages because it may make you uncomfortable. But if you believe in God, then please, read further:

Pray to God every night before you go to bed and after you wake up in morning. Pray that He will help you find the correct and appropriate job as soon as possible.

Some people may argue that there is no GOD, that there is no divine power, and that there is no proof of GOD. You cannot prove GOD through science and logic but there are things around us which we cannot explain, super natural things and spiritual powers which explain his presence. For example, when you see a big bridge, there was a builder who constructed it with concrete. When you see an airplane, you know that there was an engineer who drew the blue prints, and when you see a space shuttle, there was a scientist who thought of the quantum mechanics and the chemistry of rocket fuel. Each of these designs is very precise. If you truly think of the origin in all these things you should be thoroughly impressed with the engineering dynamics that were involved, yet these are just things that are manufactured by us human beings.

What about the engineering dynamics of the human body? Unfortunately, when many people see themselves they do not tie the thought of their body to a creator. The human body has vari-ous microscopic and intricate control systems. Think about the power of the human brain. How it thinks, functions, analyzes, stores information, retrieves information, distinguishes, and cate-gorizes information in milliseconds and does this continuously. Think about the brain for a mo-ment; the brain that thought of the mechanics of the bridge, the plane, and the rocket ship. The next logical question would be: who thought of the mechanics involved with the brain?

Think about the heart, it pumps non-stop for sixty, seventy, and in some cases even a hundred years, it contracts and discharges blood throughout the body, supplying it with oxygen with pre-cision. Think about the kidneys, and what functions they perform? The kidney is a central chem-ical lab which resides inside our body; it’s the purifying instruments of the body which performs hundreds of chemical analysis, simultaneously. It also controls the level of the toxicity in the body’s contents, and it does this automatically. Think about your eyes, (human camera) that ad-just, focus, evaluate, and apply color automatically; the natural reception and adjustment to light

46

and distance automatic, think about it. Who created thatWho created thatWho created thatWho created that, who has mastered that, who plans that and who regulates that? Is it human beings themselves? No, of course not!!

WHO IS THE CREATOR OF ALL WONDERS?

What about the universe, this earth is just one of the planets in our solar system, and our solar system is just one solar system in the Milky Way, and the Milky Way is just one galaxy in this humongous expanse that we call space. They all work in synchronization, all precise, and like clockwork they swim in orbit through space and time. They are not colliding with each other and they are swimming along in an orbit. That has been set for them. Is it man kind that set them in motion? Is it mankind that maintains this universal time clock? Of course not! Furthermore, think about the oceans, the fish, and the insects. Think about birds! Think about the animals! Think about the plants, and how the seed grows into a tree and then produces fruits for us to enjoy!

LEARN TO ACCEPT AND APPRECIATE GOD

If you do agree with the existence of God, then you should also know that there is nothing in this world that can happen without the will of God. This does not mean that you cannot do anything yourself, but that if God wants to stop you from doing anything then you cannot do it without His will. Also, do you know that if God wants you to achieve anything, you can have it in minutes? May you finding and getting employed be the first wonder that you’ll experience and with it you may learn to accept and appreciate the presence of God.

DAILY PRAYER

I will kindly propose to you to do this spiritual prayer on a daily basis: take a deep breath and thank God, who has created you, ask him to protect you, your family, your parents and your grandparents from any wrongful harm, ask him to forgive you and your family, ask him to forgive me (Saleem Sheikh) and my family, and to forgive the entire human race for any trespasses or misdeeds that we may have committed. Also, ask God to help you achieve your goal of getting employed within 30 days and to help you in your journey. -- Amen

47

MY PERSONAL DAILY PRAYER

I pray to GOD.

May God the All Mighty bring love and tranquility to mankind, and help me to understand His message. Oh Mighty God, I pray to you that everyone who bought my book and is reading it now is serious in the search for a job. I ask for you to help me guide them. I also pray that you help them, and guide them along the right path, so they can quickly find gainful and fruitful em-ployment to provide for themselves and their families with income that is earned using the righ-teous path. Oh God, you have promised to help us when we need you, so please do not disap-point us now. Oh God, you have promised that you will provide with us a source of livelihood; I ask you to please fulfill your promise, please provide these people with a good and fruitful job, so they can support their families with their earnings and lead successful lives. -- Amen

AND NOW stay focused, it’s time to take action on things learned in this book. On your mark, get set, GO!!!!!!!

CHAPTER 2 – RESOURCES FOR THE JOB SEARCH

WHAT RESOURCES CAN HELP IN YOUR JOB SEARCH?

As you begin your job search you will find out rather quickly that there are hundreds, if not thou-sands, of resources available to you that promise to make the job search easier for you. It is your responsibility to explore and to finally decide which resources to use. However, I know from personal experience that in today’s competitive job market the computer and the telephone may be your most important tools in effectively finding information and job leads.

49

COMPUTERS

With today’s job market, it is crucial that you are familiar with the use of computers and that you have a basic knowledge of Internet navigation. In addition, most jobs require you to be proficient in the MS Office applications such as: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. The use of these computer applications is no longer a special tool to be used by computer experts. They have become eve-ryday business tools, and employers expect, and in some cases demand, proficient use and application of these popular computer applications.

If you don’t own a computer, or if you are not familiar with the use of MS Office Applications, please feel free to visit my computer store at www.uscomputersinc.com to place an order for a new computer. You may also call US Computers, Inc. at (800) 550 – 8783, and you will happily be sold a complete economical computer system. Mention that you have purchased my book, along with your proof of purchase and you will be given an additional 10 percent discount off the already low prices. If you need assistance with learning the fundamentals of the Internet or how to learn the use of the above mentioned software programs, please visit my Website www.getjobinaweek.com where you can purchase the learning tutorial that covers the following material. You can also receive a 10 percent discount. If you do not own a computer or are not in the financial state to purchase one, I understand and will recommend that you use your nearest library as a resource. Please do not take computers, computer software, internet navigation, email applications or computer technology and its applications in business as something to be dismissed lightly. The use of computer related technology has changed the face of business worldwide and is here to stay.

CELLULAR PHONE

Having a cellular phone is the next most important tool for you to use during your job search. Please be sure to purchase one before you start writing and sending out your résumé. A cellular phone will allow you to have a direct channel of communications between you and your pros-pective employers. It will allow you to call employers and also allow them to call you. If possible, never give employers your home telephone number as children or relatives who may not an-swer properly may answer the telephone and create an unfavorable image of yourself with that particular employer. When using a cell telephone, make sure that a voicemail is set up for em-ployers to be able to leave messages.

50

VOICEMAIL AND VOICEMAIL MESSAGE

A simple and brief voicemail message will let your employer know that you are serious and re-sponsible, which is a great first impression. I cannot tell you how many times, when calling people for an interview, I have listened to the following types of messages, some of which were so bad that I chose not to leave a message. Due to this bad impression, I moved on to the next person, causing the individual to lose the opportunity for an interview. So, be very careful with your voicemail message and be sure not to make any of the mistakes listed below:

• Do not include a very long song first and then say, “You know what to do.”

• Do not have children answer your mail and then send your caller to voicemail.

• Do not say “What’s up?” and then follow it with a long beep.

Surprisingly, I have even received a résumé with a telephone number that was no longer in ser-vice. Other times, I was given a telephone number on the résumé that belonged to the girlfriend, wife, brother, or father, who answered the telephone (please note that employers are not at all interested in talking to your girlfriend). I have even had someone answer the telephone without a clue of the applicant because the number had been cancelled and assigned to someone else by the telephone company. The worst mistake is to find a résumé with no telephone number, because most employers will not take the time to e-mail you. As an employer, I have expe-rienced reviewing several résumés at the same time, and calling with high hopes of talking to the person that I felt might be qualified. If the number is disconnected it gives a signal that you may not be around or not be interested in the job anymore or that you are not a responsible person. In short, it makes no sense to send out a résumé with a wrong, disconnected, or a rela-tive’s number.
