ABOUT GMN

Gestión Medioambiental de Neumáticos (GMN) bases its business on the integral management of end-of-life tyres, separating their components and recycling the rubber to be reused.The company, which was founded in 2001, is a pioneer in obtaining recycling solutions in its sector due to its stance on rubber processing technology.The company is owned by COMSA Corporación, one of the main Spanish groups in the area of infrastructures, engi-neering, the environment and technology.

GMN subjects tyres to a process of material reuse.The company is one of the few in Spain that integrates all the activities related to the management of end-of-life tyres; from their collection through to the sale of the recycled product.

COLLECTION 01A service that covers the collection, logistics and transport of tyres from workshops and large production centres.

RECEPTION 02Reception and classifi cation based on their type and condition.

RECOVERY 03Recovery of the tyres in better con-dition to be sold second-hand or to be retreaded.

ENVIRONMENT/RESEARCH

GMN contributes towards sustai-nable development by means of an industrial practice that fully respects the environment, by re-cycling 100% of tyres.The company, which has a paten-ted process, has its own rubber processing technology.In a para-llel way, it actively collaborates with diverse educational and re-search institutions, such as univer-sities, the Centre for Industrial Te-chnical Development (CDTI) and the Ministry of the Environment, in search of continuous improve-ment in products and processes.Its attitude towards research and development means that it can constantly adapt to the market needs and the quality demands of its clients.

PRODUCTS AND APPLICATIONS

GMN markets recyclable materials, among others, in three large consolidated markets:

- Synthetic turf football fi elds- Safety tiles and pavement- Bitumen

Other sectors of interest are automation and building acoustics, vibration insulation and plastic mixtures.

QUALITY

GMN is a member of SIGNUS, a non-profi t institution that regulates the collection and management of 80% of the used tyres in Spain and which watches over good practices in the sector.The Catalan Waste Agency of the Generalitat of Catalonia recently awarded GMN the “Design Prize for Recycling”, in the category of materials for the rubber dust of end-of-life tyres.The company’s plant in Maials (Lleida) has environmental authorisations to process 45,000 tonnes of tyres and to store up to 20,600 tonnes.
