GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
FOR
WHEELWRIGHT EXPLORATIONS LTD.,
HEYSON TWP.
RED LAKE MINING DIVISION, ONT.,
BY
C.D. HUSTON, P.ENG.
JUNE 25,1988.
INTRODUCTION!
A geological report and a complete description of the property and its location was presented by the author and dated June 22,1987. This report therefore outlines details only pertaining to the present magnetometer and VLF geophysical surveys as completed du;ring January to June 1988.
SUMARRY:
MAGNETOMETER SURVEY;
No significan magnetic trends have been outlined by this survey work. Several isolated areas of from 1000 gammas to 1500 gammas above background have been located which are discontinous and probably reflect basic intrusive geological formations which are only slightly magnetic and j contain verly limited sulphides. No iron-formation type mineralization was noted during the course of this survey work and for the most part all geological formations seen were massive and basic dioritic to granitic in composition with several intrusive quartz-porphyry dykes encountered with little
pyrite mineralization. Rock exposures is very scarce and the property is about 9 0fo overburden and swamp covered.
EM 16 SURVEY:
Numerous strong to medium anomalous zones have been indicated however it is the authors opinion that these represent
PAGE 2.
topographical and shore-line effects rather than indicating effects caused by sulphide mineralization. In the area of the
Ontario Hydro power line no significant readings could be obtained. The magnetometer and VLF surveys have not outlined any
areas of interest that would justify follow-up exploration.
LINECUTTING:
Linecutting was done covering the entire property and thewaters of Sully Lake and a total of ?miles of' base and tie lineswere established with ^j55Imiles of cross picket lines. This work
o7* jU?was completed by C.D. Ruston Se S ons Ltd. , during the months of January to June,1988.
Lines were cut at 200 foot intervals from PL 0+00 to PL 66E and ; to 90W. Picket lines intervals from 94W to 1?OW were cut at 400 foot ;intervals. All geophysical readings were taken at 50 foot
intervals along the cut lines.
MAGNETOMETER SURVEY:
Instrument used was an Exploranium Geometrics magnetometer model G8l6 with a digital readout of the total magnetic field with an accurracy of * l gamma. All readings have been corrected for
diurnal variation and the resultant data is shown in the accompanying contoured maps.
A total of 5.700 individual readings were taken.
EM 16 SURVEY:
Instrument used was a Geonics EM 16 with the transmitter station being Seattle, Washington USA with an operating frequency of 24.8 K HZ. The EM 16 unit gives the dip angle data in terms of percent, hence a dip angle of 45 degrees gives a reading of 100^ on
the instrument.
PAGE 3.
The unit also measures the ratio of the major and minor axxes of the resultant field ellipse. This measurement is conventially referred to as th&i quadrature or out-of -phase measurement. These data are presented on the enclosed plans and are plotted in profile.
CONCLUSIONS 8c RECOMMENDATIONS;
The present geophysical surveys have not indicated any
major conductive horizons which could "be concluded to be the result of mineralised areas and are more likely related to topographical horizons.
It is recommended that the best method of further evaluation of this property would be by means of prospecting, stripping and
sampling and a tractor should be considered to complete this work. The author is aware of gold bearing mineralization in the
surrounding properties which is not reflected by geophysical means and therefore gold mineralization may be found more readily on this property by means of conventional prospecting as recommended herein.
Respectfully submitted,^^f Z*^^ ^ t ? **~ --f *
