SUMMARY

Three areas of interest were investigated during

The Shado Showing appears to be a carbonatized 1994;

vent at approximately the same stratigraphic horizon within Aldridge Formation sediments as the Fors and Vine properties. It is chemically anomalous in lead, zinc, copper, gold, silver and arsenic. A VLF conductor located on the south side of Redding Creek lines up well with a VLF conductor found to strike through the quartz-galena-sphalerite vein area of the main showing. Other parallel Mag or VLF anomalies exist in the showing area. A strong soil geochemical anomaly exists lkm north of the Shado Showing. Soil samples were taken on a grid south of the showing and results are pending.

The Magnetite Area may have commercial possibilities. The magnetite beds are also anomalous in lead and zinc.

strong lead-zinc soil geochemical anomaly which remains untested by any drill hole. Cominco's previous exploration on the property seems inadequate and their only drill hole tested a geophysical target away from the strong soil geochem anomaly. Base metal mineralization on the property appears to be related to structure but, with stratigraphy parallel to the structure opportunity also exists for a stratiform bedded sulphide deposit.

The extension of this soil geochem anomaly is known to cross over onto the south side of Redding Creek.

1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Location and Access

The property is located approximately 2 8 kilometers west of Kimberley, B.C..The Donna and the Wolf claims straddle the main Redding Creek road which links the main %.Mary River road with the Gray Creek Pass route to Crawford Bay on Kootenay Lake. The Red Wolf claim group lies between kilometer 6 and 12 on the Redding Creek road. As a gravel road it is maintained by Highway maintenance crews but is not ploughed in the winter.

to the south, crosses Redding Creek and follows a powerline west and then up the south side of Redding Creek to a microwave tower near Hall Lake. This powerline carries power from Cominco's Dams in the West Kootenay to the Sullivan Mine at Kimberley, B.C..Where this powerline crosses Redding Creek on the south side, a trail has been cut south 75m to a cut- line which trends Azimuth 135O. This line provides access to the southeast corner of the claim group.

At the 8 kilometer signpost a rough road departs

1.2 Physiography Slopes on the claim group are steep (15O-35O).

Elevations on the property range from 1200-2100 meters. Slopes on the North side of Redding Creek are moderately forested with pine, fir and larch. The slopes on the south side are moderately to thickly covered with cedar, hemlock, fir and larch. Travel by foot is very difficult on the south side without cut-lines. Snowfall is moderate (1.5 - 3.0 meters).

1.4 History

The Donna 1-6,Red 1-2, Red 4-9 and Red 10-17 claims were previously held during the 1970's and 1980's as the Shado, Hall and Bon claims. In 1978 under Shado Mines Ltd. did stripping, trenching and shipped 3.28 tons of ore to Trail, B.C. The ore assayed O.Oloz/t Au, 13.25oz/t Ag, 0.13% Cu, 25.4% Pb and 4.8% Zn. This ore was likely hand cobbed from the showing on the main road just before the lOkm signpost. The property was then further trenched by Golden Arc Industries Ltd.. In 1988, Mirandco Mines Ltd.conducted linecutting, soil sampling magnetometer and VLF surveys over the property. The company subsequently had management troubles and the claims were allowed to lapse. The key ground was restaked later by the original owners (Bradford, Fairclough and Johnstone).

The Wolf 1-17, Red 3 and Red 18-35 claims were previously held by Cominco as the Redd 4&6 claims. During the middle to late 1980's and in 1990, Cominco explored this area of their Red claims with geological mapping, grid soil geochemistry, Horizontal Loop E.M., magnetometer surveys and one diamond drill hole. An extensive, strong Pb - Zn anomaly was identified within the Aldridge Formation extending north-south across the entire lkm strike length of their grid.Minor trenching was done on this anomaly in 1985 and minor galena - sphalerite mineralization was located in north trending, steeply dipping faults and shear zones. Pb-isotope studies conducted during this period indicated a Mesozoic age for the mineralization. Apparently Cominco did not pursue delineation of this anomaly. Previous unpublished work indicates that this strong Pb-Zn soil anomaly extends south of the Wolf claims onto ground covered by the Red 24-27 claims (C.Kennedy-personal communication). This strong Pb-Zn soil anomaly is also believed to extend north to a point just below the Jor claims owned by Consolidated Ramrod Gold Corporation. HLEM and magnetic surveys defined bedding and structure-parallel nort-northeast striking anomalies within the western part of their grid area, roughly coinciding with a fault which separates western Creston Formation from eastern Aldridge Formation.

2.0 GEOLOGY

2.1 Regional Geology

The claim area lies on the western flank of a broad north plunging arch known as the Purcell Anticlinorium which is composed of rocks belonging to the Precambrian package of clastic sediments known as the Purcell Supergroup. These sedimentary rocks form a monotonous succession of drab coloured siltstone, mudstone, lesser quartz arenite, dolomite and limestone. The maximum thickness of the Purcell Supergroup exceeds 10,000 meters with the base unexposed.

eight distinct formations. The base is marked by the Fort Steele Formation, consisting mainly of cross-bedded quartzites and mudstones. The Fort Steele Formation is known to be only 200 meters thick. The Aldridge Formation is about 5000 meters thick and conformably overlies the Fort Steele Formation. It consists of mainly siltstone and argillites. The Creston Formation is 1800 meters thick and conformably overlies the Aldridge Formation. The Creston Formation consists of green and maroon siltstone, quartzite, mudstone and minor arenite. Conformably overlying the Creston Formation are 1200 meters of green-grey dolomitic mudstone, schist, dolomite and minor quartzite of the Kitchener Formation. The Welcome claim is underlain by Kitchener Formation. Overlying the Kitchener Formation to the west are 200 - 400 meters of green slightly dolomitic mudstones of the Siyeh Formation. The Kitchener / Siyeh Formations represent shallow water sediments of an ascending basin and mark the end of Lower Purcell time.

The Purcell rocks are conformably overlain by about 1200 meters of calcareous and dolomitic mudstone, black slates and minor siltstone of the Dutch Creek Formation. This formation is overlain by about 1000 meters of white quartzite, grey - green - maroon mudstone, calcareous mudstone and dolomite of the Mount Nelson Formation.

2.2 Property Geology

The RedWolf claim group is underlain by Proterozoic sediments of the Creston and Aldridge Formations. These sediments are locally intruded by dioritic sills and dykes also of Proterozoic age (known as the Moyie Sills). A large stock of Cretaceous granodiorite also intrudes the eastern edge of the claim group.

The Creston Formation is found on the western end of the claim group separated from Aldridge sediments to the east by a north-east striking fault. Here the rocks are grey-green silty argillite and argillaceous quartzite. The Aldridge Formation to the east is characterized by rusty weathering argillites, siltstones and quartzites.

The geological work done during 1994 focused on

1)The Shado Showing lies on the Donna 2 & 3 claims three areas within the claim group;

at about 9.8km on the Redding Creek road. Geochemical soil sampling by Mirandco Mines Ltd. in 1988 highlighted an area 0 . 5 km nort-east of the Shado Showing that was anomalous in lead and zinc over an area of 0.5km by 0.5km. Also two northeast trending VLF conductors vere discovered in the vicinity of the showing, one of which apparently links the showing with the soil geochemical anomaly.

"plug" u;? to 25 meters thick which is anomalous in gold,silver, lead, zinc, arsenic and copper. It has been the author's experience that carbonatite within the Aldridge Formation is very rare and only known to exist in conjunction with contemporaneous chemical or sedimentary exhalative type venting. This is supported by the sresence of abundant talc as well as trace amounts of kaolin and metallic sulphides. Sixty meters stratigraphically above this carbonatite vent are found several bedding plane parallel quartz-sulphide "veinsll. To the author's knowledge the lead in these "veins" has never been age dated.

Sediments in the vicinity of the Shado Showing dip steeply west. A large gabbro sill intrudes bedding approximately 600 meters east of the Shado Showing. Geological mapping has determined that tops are to the east.

2)The Magnetite Area lies within a recent clearcut above the 7.5km point on the Redding Creek road within the Wolf 7 & 8 mineral claims. The magnetite is bedded within the Aldridge Formation and comprises two units of at least 2 meters thick each, one of which is exposed in the landing at the end of the logging road which departs Redding Creek road at about 8.5km. The average thickness of the magnetite units may be more than 2 meters as is indicated by the stronger magnetic response given on line 200N. The only observed outcrops of magnetite are in the old landing as previously described. The magnetite is associated with limonitic argillite (possibly altered after feldspar) and is strongly chloritized. It is anomalous in Pb, Zn, Vanadium and Tungsten. The high phosporus content(see appendix I) is attributed to observed apatite. Total combined iron probably averages 25%.

Testing of a bulk sample is required in order to determine the relative density, magnetic content and yield of recoverable magnetite. A mining feasibility and a market study would then be recommended. The magnetite beds are possibly a reworked gabbro sill. The magnetic beds strike north towards a large 58,500 nT aeromagnetic high,located approximately lkm north.

No soil geochemistry has been done over the Magnetite Area to locate the source of the anomalous Pb & Zn .

3) Th? Cominco Drill Hnle Area is lo 'c-:=,d I I I the Wolf#l claim. It is bounded by two northeast trending faults and constitutes a graben as younger Creston formation is exposed in the core of the downdropped block with Aldridge Formation on either side. Bedding and foliation/shearing are northeast oriented with generally steep east or west dips. High lead and zinc values occur here within the Aldridge Formation.Cominco's soil geochemistry outlined a very strong and extensive lead-zinc anomaly. Lead values as high as 2073ppm and zinc values as high as 2298ppm occur over an area of at least 100 by 300 meters (see fig.6). Some of the base metal mineralization on the property is exposed by Cominco's exploration access road. This mineralization consists of galena and brown sphalerite as disseminations and veinlets within a fracture zone proximal to a northeast trending fault. Relatively little iron sulphide occurs within this zone and it would likely have a poor geophysical response.

Cominco delineated and drilled into a northeast trending Horizontal Loop Elecro Magnetic (HLEM) conductor located to the west of their drill road. This HLEM conductor was in an area of relatively poor soil geochemical results. The drill hole, 114.2 meters in length encountered six zones of disseminated to massive pyrrhotite (3-18 cm thick) and disseminated, patchy and massive zones of magnetite. This hole evidently established the cause of the best geophysical response but provided no evaluation of the lead-zinc anomaly. No further drilling was done by Cominco (Klewchuk,l992).

3.0 GEOPHYSICS Shado Showing Area During 1988, Mirandco Mines Inc. established

east-west grid lines over the Shado Showing and the area on the north side of Redding Creek road. Magnetometer and VLF surveying were conducted over the grid area. Two prominent VLF conductors were noted both striking azimuth 020°. One strikes through the vicinity of the quartz-lead-zinc "veins" and the other passes west of the vented carbonatite (see fig.3).

side of Redding Creek in order to look for the south extension of this conductor(see fig.3). Magnetometer and . VLF readings were taken every 12.5 meters on grid lines.

VLF profiles and contour plots show a possible conductor striking AZ.020° and crossing the grid lines at 350 east on each line. Magnetometer results show a coincident linear of strong gradient with mag low to the west and mag high to the east. Two other mag low linears cross the grid lines at about 150 east and 50 east. More data is required before conclusions can be drawn here.

During 1994, a grid was established on the south

Magnetite Area Four lines trending AzllO were run over the

magnetite area on different dates. Due to operator error data was lost for two of these lines. Magnetic profiles were plotted for lines 200N & 300N (see fig.4a). When over a magnetite bed readings can fluctuate up to 30,000nT (gamma). In one instance the magnetite bed was observed in outcrop to be two meters thick in section and gave a magnetic fluctuation of only 2,000 nT even with no outcrop. The magnetite beds are interpreted to be tabular and to dip steeply east or west.

Cominco Drill Road Area During 1990, Cominco Ltd.conducted a HLEM and

magnetics survey over this area. This outlined an anomalous area coinciding with and west of a north-east fault separating Creston Formation from Aldridge Formation. The best geophysical response was in the Creston Formation within an area of relatively poor soil geochemistry. One drill hole 114.2m long tested the best coincident HLEM & Mag anomalies. Cominco's geophysical survey did not delineate the geophysical anomalies and they remain open on strike to both north and south.

Mag & VLF data on the south side of the Cominco Area but this was not successful as grid lines were not then established and the bush was too thick to walk through easily. There is a long canyon south of the Cominco Area and the only way to cross Redding Creek is at the Powerline bridge 2%km upstream.

4.0 GEOCHEMISTRY

Shado Showing Sixty soil samples were taken on grid lines south

of the Shado Showing. Samples were dried and a portion saved for mobile mercury analysis. Results are still pending at the time of writing this report (Chemex Labs Ltd.).

Magnetite Area. Two rock samples were taken from the outcrop mentioned in section 3.0 and these results are appended in Appendix I. The magnetite beds are apparently anomalous in lead, zinc, vanadium and tungsten.

Cominco Drill Area No further soil geochemistry was.done over this

area. In 1990, Cominco's soil geochemistry outlined a very strong and extensive lead and zinc anomaly. Eleven grid lines tested a lkm north-south strike length; within this zone, lead values are as high as 2073ppm and zinc values are as high as 2298ppm. Values of greater than lOOppm PB and greater than 500ppm Zn occur on each of the eleven soil lines. Apparently Cominco did not attempt to further delineate the anomaly (Klewchuk,l992).

5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

A couple of short diamond drill holes would test any geochemical anomaly discovered as well as the thickness of the magnetite beds at depth.

The extension of this soil geochem anomaly is known to cross over onto the south side of Redding Creek.Unfortunately, much of 1994's efforts were taken up in gaining access to this area. A 2km access line was cut from the Powerline Bridge and a few grid lines were started.Further work here is recommended (soil sampling, Mag. & VLF) with a follow-up, helicopter supported drill hole. A drill hole is also recommended to test the soil anomaly already established on the north side of the river east of the Cominco drill hole.
