QuadrilatQuadrilateralserals
There are manydifferent kinds of quadrilaterals. All ofthem have certain things in common. But most importantly theyall havefour sides!
A quadrilateral that has at least one pair of parallel sides.
Trapezoid:
Opposite sides areparallel and of equal length. The opposite angles are equal.
Parallelogram:
This shape isalso a trapezoid.
Rhombus:
(It is also a parallelogram
AND a trapezoid!)
This parallelogram has fourequal sides, but does nothave four right angles.
Has two parallel pairs of linesand four right angles.
Rectangle:
(It is also a parallelogram AND
a trapezoid.)
Has two parallel pairs of lines, four right angles, and all four
sides are equal in length.
Square:
(It is also a parallelogra
m, a trapezoid,
AND a rectangle!)
TriangTrianglesles
All three sides are equal. Each angle is equal to 60°.
Equilateral Triangle:
Also called an
acute-angled
triangle.
It has a right angle (90°) inone of its corners.
Right Triangle:
Only two sides have the same length. Two angles are equal.
Isosceles Triangle:
Each side is a different length.None of the angles are equal.
Scalene Triangle:
