Headland
A narrow area of land jutting out into a sea, lake, etc.
Lagoon
Where a spit has joined two pieces of land and sea water is trapped behind to from a lake.
Gulf
A large area of a sea or ocean partially enclosed by land.
Bay
A body of water partially enclosed by land but with a wide mouth, affording access to the sea.
Coast
A zone where the land meets the sea.
Cliff
A high and steep rock face sometimes under attack by the sea.
Beach
The area covered by sand or pebbles deposited by the sea.
Breakwater
A barrier that protects a harbour or shore from the full impact of waves.
Cave
Formed where waves and the material that they carry hit a weak part of the cliff.
