WHAT DO THE ROTARY NOMADS DO?Apart from the normal aspects of membership of any Rotary Club/E-Club, the special focus of our club is community service.

We are gradually developing our own service projects but in addition, we provide community service by supporting other clubs and service organisations. This is provided in the form of a volunteer Rotarian/s who turn up at a location to work on a project that is managed by a “face-to-face" Rotary Club.

We call the “face-to-face" Rotary Clubs Partner Rotary Clubs (PRC).

MANAGEMENT: Below is a list of our Board and other club directors.

The club’s first inductions occurred on 17 June, 2014 at the RC of Jindalee.

Our club charter event occurred in March 2015 at Broken Hill.

In addition to the positions below, we also have a Fund Raising director.

MEMBERSHIP:We currently have 32 members from Qld, NSW,

Victoria, SA and WA.

To gain members, a large was placed in RDU back in May of 2014.

Numbers are growing steadily at about 1-2 per month.

Numbers expected to grow as we advertise in magazines, do service work and club visits.

Many of our members have previous Rotary experience and are either retired, on the move in vans or motorhomes or about to do so.

We do not seek existing Rotarians as members & only one or two members fit into this category.

MEETINGS & COMMUNICATIONWednesday night weekly meetings at 7pm Eastern Standard

Time.

Use online program called GoToMeeting (see next slide) which allows us to connect with video & audio using laptops or tablets.

Meetings usually follow a similar procedure to face-to-face clubs. We don’t have a Sergeant’s session and we do include members’ travel talks and highlights of the week.

We regularly have guest speakers - the Rotary Foundation, Rotary Health, Outback Links, Outdoor Irrigation program. We are currently organising talks by Careflight, Travel consultants, Caravan/Motorhome trip preparation, etc.

Long Term PlanThe plan is to build up a web of clubs/events throughout Australia and a timetable of events where Rotary Nomads may be able to assist. As described, this has already started.

This is of course negotiated with the clubs first.

Then when looking at our travel plans, we can try to match the events with our travel plans.

If your club has any annual events where you might need some added hands, please let us know (well in advance) the details and Rotary Nomads may be able to assist.
