The Task Force for Neonatal Genomics applies genome sequencing and analysis to the diagnosis and clinical management of children with developmental and congenital anatomical defects.
Our mission is to determine under what parameters genome sequencing can be implemented as a tool to inform and guide pa?ent management in a scien?fically robust and ethically responsible fashion.
Robert Nussbaum, MD
Robert Nussbaum has served as Invitae’s Chief Medical Officer since August 2015. Invitae is a geneQc informaQon company whose mission is to bring geneQc informaQon into mainstream medical pracQce to improve the quality of healthcare for billions of people. Prior to joining Invitae, Dr. Nussbaum was chief of the Division of Genomic Medicine at UCSF Health where he also held leadership roles in the
Cancer GeneQcs and PrevenQon Program beginning in January 2009 and the Program in Cardiovascular GeneQcs beginning in July 2007. From April 2006 to August 2015, he served as a member of the UCSF InsQtute for Human GeneQcs. Prior to joining UCSF Health, Dr. Nussbaum was chief of the GeneQc Disease Research Branch of the NaQonal Human Genome Research InsQtute, one of the NaQonal
InsQtutes of Health, from 1994 to 2006. He is a member of the InsQtute of Medicine and a fellow at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
