It is familyoriented, safety conscious, and puts sincereemphasis on youth and senior huntersuccess. The club excels in both deer andturkey hunting but also has small game,duck and hog hunting. For deer: only stand,still and stalk hunting are permitted. Theclub property is comprised of numerousleases obtained from both private andtimber/land management companies. Allclub property is sub-divided into numbered

hunt units. Sign-in is required each hunt day for selected hunt units(no pre-selected or reserved areas). Hunt units are selected first come-first choice each hunt day. All major roads are gated with easy accessand parking to all hunt units. Access is controlled and limited duringdeer/turkey season. Members travel to and from designated parkingareas to access selected hunt units. Roads, trails, major openings &food plot areas are bush hogged annually. Several major transmissioncorridors and gas line right-of-ways traverse and cross through many ofthe hunt units. Sunday hunting is allowed on all tracts. Membersreceive: membership booklet, key, membership card, vehicle decals, 4to 6 newsletters annually, financial statement, membership lists, by-laws, rules & regulations, mission statement, harvest reports, detailedtract maps and other hunting/outdoor information. No hunting isallowed after the consumption of any alcohol. Disorderly conduct isnot tolerated and is strictly enforced. Club Incorporation: PiedmontHunt Club, Inc. is a South Carolina Non-Profit corporation. Thisestablishes the club as a legal entity allowing the club to own campsitesand facilities. This also provides a certain level of protection fromliability for the officers and members.

ACREAGE & HABITATACREAGE & HABITATPiedmont Hunt Club maintains approximately 10,000 acresannually. This will fluctuate some from year to year due to landavailability and newly acquired leases. This size club is manageableand provides ample resources, acreage, better hunting opportunitiesand security for our members than a smaller club. The club’s land isin Fairfield County and Chester County. The habitat on the club isvery diverse and is ever changing with timber harvest. The soil iscomprised mostly of clay; the terrain is steep, typical piedmont landfeatures. Clear cuts with hardwoods ravines are dispersed throughoutwith various stages of pine plantations found on the hilly terrainabove large hardwood bottoms on major creek drainages.

HUNT CAMPS & FACILITIESHUNT CAMPS & FACILITIESPiedmont Hunt Club owns it’s 19 acre camp in Fairfield County nearlake Wateree. The camp provides county water, electricity, coveredshelters & skinning facilities, year round camping, sight-in ranges forboth archery & firearms. Other amenities include: horseshoes andATV riding course for the youth. For an annual fee, members can rentcampsites and leave their campers on siteyear round. The camp is located just a fewmiles from a public boat ramp accessingLake Wateree. This lake offers some of thebest crappie fishing in the spring and alsosports good large mouth and stripped bassfishing throughout the year.

FOOD PLOTS, STANDS & MINERAL LICKSFOOD PLOTS, STANDS & MINERAL LICKSPiedmont Hunt Club plants numerous food plotsannually for the purpose of attracting both deer andturkey. We plant perenial clover and chufa for theturkeys. Food plots are usually located near club standsor trees suitable for climbing. It has been determinedthat food plots are a major contributing factor for both

our deer and turkey hunting success, especially for our youth andsenior hunters. We have numerous club stands consisting of elevatedtowers, one & two man ladder stands and ground blinds. Clubstands for the most part are designed, constructed and sized for twohunters. The primary function for club stands is for our youth,seniors, handicapped and inexperience hunters, but are used by all.Mineral licks are strategically located throughout the club and arecharged annually with a mixture of salt andminerals. Our objective is to supplementthe deer with the necessary minerals to aidin reproduction and antler development.

DEER & TURKEYDEER & TURKEYPiedmont Hunt Club, over the years, has maintained avery high hunter success rate for both deer and turkey.Our records indicate that over the last five years we havehad an average annual deer harvest of 188 deer, ofwhich, approximately 65% has been doe harvest. Due toour Quality Deer Management Program (QDM) on ourFairfield Tracts, we have continually taken more QDM

bucks each year with one or two bucks making the state records list byscoring in excess of 125 Boone and Crockett points. Our turkey harvestis just as successful; our records indicate that over the last five years wehave had an average annual harvest of 45 gobblers. One statistic worthaddressing is every year we have between 6 to 8 youth hunters harvesttheir first deer or turkey. All deer & turkey harvested are weighed and

logged in at the Hunt Camp. Harvest data is collected atyears end and is compiled into a detailed harvestsummary. SCDNR daily and seasonal harvest limits are

strictly adhered to. Doe harvest is encouragedon entire club. Piedmont Hunt Club has twotypes of deer management:

SMALL GAMEAlthough we are not managing specifically for small game the PiedmontHunt Club has good populations of rabbit, squirrel, raccoon, duck,woodcock and some quail. If you predator hunt, we have plenty ofcoyote, fox and bobcat. Dogs are allowed on small game hunts.

DIRECTIONS TO FAIRFIELD HUNT CAMPDIRECTIONS TO FAIRFIELD HUNT CAMPFairfield Hunt Camp is our main hunt camp, approximately aone hour drive south from Charlotte, NC and 1⁄2 hour drivenorth of Columbia, SC. Via I-77 take exit 48 east onto SC Hwy200 for 2.8 miles to crossroads at Mitford, take a right on SSR55, go 1.1 miles to intersection and bear right staying on SSR55, go 1.1 miles to junction US Hwy 21 (Stop sign with redflashing light) continue across intersection staying on SSR 55,go about 300 yards, turn right at club sign (Camp is located justbehind Fairfield County Recycle Facility).

Annual Membership is$1325 and includes: spouse, father, mother andchildren/visitors 18 years old or younger or still in college.Guest membership and guest days are also available for anadditional fee. Membership entitles you to all hunts andclub activities.

Hunt and a Youth Turkey Hunt. Onthese hunts, in addition to the morningand evening hunts, the club provideslunch and some appropriate activity forthe youth. In the past we have hadtarget shooting with proper shootingtechniques and sporting clays with safegun handling instructions. At ourAnnual Orientation Cookout for newmembers, we acknowledge and handoutawards for the “Largest Buck” (Boone& Crockett Scoring) and “FirstDeer/Turkey” harvested. These awardsare given to both the mature huntersand youth hunters who successfullyharvested their first deer or turkey.
