DBA Program

EU’s highly competitive DBA program is designed to be challenging, rigorous and stimulating and to increase managerial, leadership and academic competencies. The program develops students’ independent- and critical-thinking skills, which enables them to master a specific field within business. Students hone their research and analytical skills by completing an original, expert-level research project.

Students may enroll throughout the academic year. Upon completion, they will earn a private, DBA degree from EU Business School Switzerland, an internationally accredited institution.

Apply new theoretical knowledge to contemporary business problems in an increasingly-complex world through applied research, teaching and analysis.

Explore a range of quantitative and qualitative meth-ods frequently used in research to solve current business or management problems.

Identify and evaluate internal and external influenc-es on organizations to develop strategic plans for change via transition management.

Demonstrate expertise in ethical standards and practices as well as responsibility and cultural/global diversity, to work collaboratively as a contributing leader within both business and society.

Comprehend the nature and scope of behavior within small and large organizations in the global business environment; and analyze the activities of leaders who have successfully managed change.

The pre-dissertation phase takes a minimum of one year. Its objective is to provide students with the theoretical and practical foundations of the primary and supporting fields of study. The study plan will define how each student’s interests and objectives will be pursued during the DBA program. It is unique since it bridges students’ educational activities to their personal, long-term career goals.

Each course is given in seminar form. The program also encourages students to pursue independent research, publishing, consulting, travel and teaching.

Teaching methods may include case studies and literary reviews, which are used to establish a firm link between traditional management approaches and the most recent operational developments. The DBA seminars listed below are the core portion of the curriculum. Student progress and participation is evaluated in each of the subjects through a research paper or an alternative assignment requested by faculty.

The objective of this second phase is to determine whether students have correctly absorbed the theoretical, practical and analytical knowledge of the pre-dissertation phase and are able to apply this knowledge toward the resolution of a substantial problem.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

EU Business School’s DBA program has a research-based curriculum, which uses practical business cases and consists of applied research as opposed to fundamental research. The DBA can be completed in as little as two years or in up to five years. The program consists of two major parts:
