VCT 49xyl, gm5221LCD TV Reference Design V2E

The V2E LCD TV reference design is a

cost-effective worldwide LCD TV solution

supporting LCD panel sizes from 10 inches

to 22 inches. It utilizes a ready-to-use two-

chip solution from Micronas and Genesis,

comprising the VCT 49xyl all-in-one TV

front-end and the gm5221 LCD display con-

troller.

The VCT 49xyl is software compatible to

legacy TV front-end solutions from

Micronas which are well proven in the field

reducing extensive field testing, thusenabling TV manufacturers faster time-to-

market. In addition, the gm5221 LCD dis-

play controller leverages Genesis patented

advanced image processing technology, as

well as proven integrated ADC/PLL, ultra-

reliable DVI digital receiver, ITU 656 video

port, advanced TV color controls, bitmap-

like OSD, and dual LVDS or 24-bit TTL to

support multiple panel sources.

The V2E LCD TV reference design provides

a complete input connectivity for CVBS,

Y/C, YCrCb, HD-inputs 480p, 1080i, and

720p, as well as PC analog and DVI inputs.
