Generation C

Definition: Generation C's members all have the common characteristic of being "digital natives" who turn to the Internet naturally and extensively to do a number of things.

Generation C is a group of consumers who need information first hand. They want to be connected everywhere and anywhere. Having WI FI s is a major priority to them. They always make sure they have digital devices with them whenever they travel. It is a generation that wants to share information and who want get to know where friends are and what they are doing.

Points that I agree with from the article:

• The internet being a way in which Generation C live their life, and it’s second nature for them to engage with authentic content across all platforms and all screens, whenever and wherever they want.

• This is a generation that feels the need to share information to be able to stay connected and informed.

• It a generation that need to stay innovative and creative hence they will always need to stay informed.

• Being without a wireless device is becoming unheard of, This is almost because everything we need is now made available online.

• Brands of cause want to be associated with this generation because they are a good example of marketing channels that help promote products or services. They get the information out there and on time eg through creation of buzz.

Points I don’t agree with:

• YouTube can not be the only source of voice for Generation C. This generation as long as they are using technology are connected everywhere including blogs and other social media sites where they equally share content.

• If saying Generation C has grown up with You tube, then it means associating Generation C and Generation Y to kind of mean the same thing. Generation C in the article is termed as a generation that is mostly driven by You tube yet all they do encompasses technology as a whole. If generation C can be described as age limitless then why term them as a generation that has grown with You Tube?

Google is a company that creates products with the generation C in mind. It has combined diiferent functions of technology to be able to market it as one. The applications created are products often or always used by this generation. This include: Mail, Google +, Maps, You tube etc
