General SpecificationPENNINE INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT LTD of Huddersfield, England has been involved with the design,manufacture and supply of UHMW-PE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) extruded Wear Stripsand Guide Rail extrusions for over 25 years.Over that time we have gathered a vast wealth of knowledge which enables our Sales Staff to assist in the correct selection of boththe individual profile required and best grade of material to meet the demands of the Material Handling Industry in the 21st century.

Pennine Industrial currently hold over 85 different extruded UHMW-PE profiles and carry large stocks of the profiles shown withinthis catalogue, available for next day shipping throughout the United Kingdom and into Mainland Europe. As a major internationalexporter, selling to over 50 countries worldwide, we can also pack and ship our range of extrusions for despatch by either air or seato any part of the world. We are constantly increasing our range of standard extrusions and would be pleased to discuss any newdesigns or modifications to meet individual customer requirements.

UHMW-PE Profiles have outstanding resistance to impact and have an excellent combination of both Physical and Mechanicalproperties which are maintained over a wide temperature range.

They have excellent self lubricating properties and are highly resistant to corrosion in chemically active environments.The properties of UHMW-PE make it the most wear resistant non metallic material available to the Material Handling Industry.All of the extruded UHMW-PE profiles shown in the catalogue are approved to FDA & USDA standards and suitable for direct contactwith food and pharmaceutical products.

Alongside the standard White 1000 grade extrusions, Pennine Industrial also offer a range of special UHMW-PE grades, with aselection of additives to increase performance depending on individual applications and our customer’s needs. A number of theseare available ex stock from our UK warehouse and are shown throughout the catalogue. Other extruded profiles can be produced onrequest. Please consult our Sales Team for more information on special products.

Standard 1000 grade UHMW-PE: Excellent wear resistance up to a surface speed of 30m/min and suitable for constant usebetween – 240 / +85 deg C, Standard Colour White (Pages 1–12) & Blue (Page 11).

Prem-Lube: UHMW-PE and a food grade fluid lubricant are blended together to produce a high speed, very low friction, wearresistant material suitable for surface speeds between 30m/min and 152m/min. During operation an oil film is generated on thesurface of the material and this significantly reduces friction by up to 50%. Standard Colour Grey (Page 12).

Glass Filled UHMW-PE: Designed and developed for high impact applications often used on Canning and Bottling lines whereimpact is at the greatest on corners and can twists. Standard Colour Blue (Page 6).

MoS2 filled Nylon: Used in the Canning and Bottling Industries for its impact strength. Standard Colour Brown (Page 11).

Antistatic Grades (Black), Silicon Free Grades (Translucent White), Nylon and Nylon 6.6 (Natural & Black) are also availableon request.

Stainless Steel BackedUHMW-PE Guide RailsAll Guide Rails are of solid design and are manufactured using14 gauge 304 stainless steel backing, with 1000 grade UHMW Polyethylene insert to give outstandingresistance to impact and wear.

All Guide Rails are FDA, USDA approved for direct contact with food. Although these profiles aresupplied as standard in White 1000 grade UHMW-PE, they are also available in anti-static UHMW-PE,lubricated UHMW-PE and custom colours.

Standard length is 10ft, however other lengths are available on request.

It is particularly useful in applications where high speeds (up to 152m/min) are involved and the effectivenessof standard UHMW Polyethylene is limited.

During operation an oil film is generated on the surface of the material and this can significantly reduce frictionby up to 50%. This reduction means that conveyor lengths can be increased and chain wear reduced.

This material also reduces noise levels which are generated when using other grades of plastic. The material isalso fully FDA and USDA approved for applications where it comes in direct contact with food.

Neck Guides – Prem-LubeUsed in air blown Conveyor Lines for PET bottles. Prem-Lube reduces friction and is suitable for highspeed applications.
