This brochure has been prepared to helpyou know more about Liberty University'sunique track and field program. Thank you fortaking the time to review this material.
The distinctiveness of Liberty athletics isbased on our motivation and mission. As ateam of college students and coaches wholove the Lord Jesus Christ, we desire to rep-resent Him and to honor Him in everythingthat we do. We want to multiply and use ourtalents for the glory of God.
In John 15:8 Jesus said, "This is to myFather's glory, that you bear much fruit, show-ing yourselves to be my disciples." At Libertywe strive for success to increase our opportu-nities to show ourselves to be His disciples. InMatthew 5:16 Jesus said, "Let your light soshine before men, that they may see yourgood works and give glory to your father, whois in heaven." We deeply desire to shine forHim.
It is a wonderful privilege and awesomeresponsibility to represent Liberty because inrepresenting Liberty we represent Jesus
Christ. We have been instructed to "shinelike stars as we hold out the Word of Life."This is our call and this is our passion. Weare available to God to be used for His glory. We have the greatest purpose. We have thegreatest motivation. Can we do any lessthan become a great track team? Is thetremendous progress of this young team anysurprise?
Certainly our team and our school are notfor everyone, but for those athletes whoshare our Biblically-based faith and ourdesire to be all we can be for the glory ofGod, what opportunity could be more excit-ing? We are looking for talented athleteswho share our passion for this wonderfulmission. God has already blessed us in somany wonderful ways and surely the best isyet to come. To run for Liberty is to run forthe Lord, the Creator and Sustainer of life.We have been set on fire, and the Flamesare Ablaze.
