HOWEVER LEGALLY BLONDE IS DIFFERENT TO THIS. IT INTRODUCES THE MAIN CHARACTER AT THE BEGINNING, HOWEVER THIS CHARACTER IS VERY DIFFERENT. THE MAIN CHARACTER AS SEEN FROM THE OPENING TITLE SEQUENCE IS STEREOTYPICALLY FEMININE. THIS CAN BE SEEN FROM THE LOVE HEARTS; NAIL POLISH; PERFUME; MAKE-UP; PINK ITEMS; ‘PERFECT’ BLONDE HAIR, ETC. THIS TELLS US THIS WILL BE A FEMININE FILM AS THE MAIN CHARACTER IS VERY ‘GIRLY’. BOTH HULK AND THE CABIN IN THE WOODS DO NOT DISPLAY MAIN CHARACTERS AT THE BEGINNING. HOWEVER FROM THE GRAPHICS DURING THE TITLE SEQUENCE OF HULK, WE CAN SEE MOLECULE WHICH SUGGESTS THE FILM HAS SOME LINK TO SCIENCE. THE CABIN IN THE WOODS IS SIMILAR TO THIS. FROM THE REDS IN THE TEXT AND THE BLOOD SPLATTER, WE CAN TELL THAT THE FILM MUST LINK TO HORROR IN SOME WAY.

THE STYLE OF FONT CAN SOMETIMES HELP THE AUDIENCE DETERMINE WHAT GENRE FILM THEY’RE WATCHING AND THE MAIN CHARACTER IS LIKE. IN PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, THE FONT IS OLD-FASHIONED AND HAS A FOUNTAIN PEN STYLE. THIS TELLS US THAT THE FILM IS DATED IN THE PAST AND THE WELL WRITTEN WORDS CAN LINK TO THE MAIN CHARACTER BEING INTELLIGENT. THIS IS OPPOSITE TO LEGALLY BLONDE, WHICH HAS BUBBLY PINK WRITING WHICH SUGGEST THE FILM IS FEMININE AND THE TARGET AUDIENCE IS WOMEN. THE BOLD GREEN IN HULK CONNOTES THE HULK HIMSELF AS HE IS A BIG MUSCULAR FIGURE MUCH LIKE THE TEXT. IN THE CABIN IN THE WOODS OPENING TITLE SEQUENCE THE TEXT IS RED, RED IS A COMMON COLOUR OF BLOOD WHICH IS USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH HORROR.

SoundMUSIC CAN ALSO HELP DETERMINE THE GENRE OF THE FILM. IN PRIDE AND PREJUDICE THE MUSIC IS QUITE PEACEFUL AND TRANQUIL WHICH LINKS THE MAIN CHARACTER, KIERA KNIGHTLEY, WHO IS INTELLIGENT AND PEACEFUL AND LOVING. LEGALLY BLONDE HAS VERY DIFFERENT MUSIC COMPARED TO PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. ‘PERFECT DAY’ IS USED TO LINK TO THE MAIN CHARACTERS ‘PERFECT’ LIFE. THE MUSIC IS UPBEAT WHICH LINKS TO THE MAIN CHARACTERS PERSONALITY WHICH IS BUBBLY. HULK’S MUSIC IS QUITE MYSTERIOUS AND LEAVES A LOT OF UNANSWERED QUESTIONS, WHICH LINKS TO THE GENRE OF THE FILM AS PEOPLE HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS TRANSFORMATION. THE CABIN IN THE WOOD’S SOUNDTRACK IS SIMILAR TO HULKS IN THE WAY THAT IT HAS A MYSTERIOUS EFFECT AND LEAVES UNANSWERED QUESTIONS AS THE AUDIENCE ARE NOT QUITE SURE IF THE FILM IS A HORROR, APART FROM THE TEXT AND COLOURS USED IN THE GRAPHICS.
