General Assembly Meeting – SA Session | Crete Oct. 2014

Observations, archiving and provision of dataVariables the service activity is based on• Meteorological, wave field and surface oceanographic parameters

• Oceanographic parameters (T, S,O2, currents) at 20, 50, 75, 100, 250, 400, 600 and 1000m

• Seabed (1670m) sensors for Tsunami detection and deep oceanographic observations

• Passive Acoustic Listener (PAL) providing sound signal classifications for further analysis (rainfall, waves, mammal detection, background noise, etc.)

• Upgrade on seabed observations includes addition of pCO2, CH4, turbidity and pH sensors

Data archive• Pylos-Southern Ionian DO• Web site address: www.poseidon.hcmr.grData access• Open data access policy• User access through registration. Login, password authentication required• Daily monitoring of data usage

Services provided during the first year

•Near real time data are available online plus time series plots (15 days window) through www.poseidon.hcmr.gr

•Near real time quality controlled data are also available on a daily basis through MyOcean Med Insitu TAC portal (netCDF format)

•Historical quality controlled data are available through both the website (ascii, .xls format) and MyOcean Med Insitu TAC portal (netCDF format)

•The EMECO tool is not used for product preparation/publication
