•Back in the 1930’s, Gender Roles were acutely defined:

•Women were to be the ideal Housewives for their husbands and proper ladies.

•Men were to provide for his family and be gentlemen.

•Girls were to girlie like wearing dresses as well as other matters of being a girl.

•Boys were to be sporty and intellectual.

•Back in the Thirties, men had to be gentlemen.

•They had to be sophisticated and able to provide for the family.

•They also had more right in their family, they had the final say in subjects that concerned the family.

•Then the women were to stay at home to take care of the house, the children and to cook.

•Without a vacuum, microwave, or already prepared foods, this was not an easy task to accomplish.

•Women did not have the right to vote or to work outside of the house.

•When it came appearance of his wife if the man did not like it, he had the right to be Furious with her.

•Girls at the time had to be lady like. They had to wear dresses and learn from their mother to be a lady. Education was not as important as learning to please men. They had to play lady like as well.

•Boys could play as they pleased as long as it was masculine and gentleman like.

•Women had to fight for the rights to vote.

•The fought for all of their rights

Today children can play without a care in the world.

•Men can be stay at home dads and raise the children while the wife is a work.

•Women can provide for the family and work at an office or where ever they please.

•A family then is different than a family then.

•Everyone has they’re own freedom
