Gen 1-11Part 15: The “ark of salvation”

Is 54:9 “For this is like the waters of Noah to Me; for as Ihave sworn that the waters of Noah would no longer coverthe earth, so have I sworn that I would not be angrywith you, nor rebuke you.

Ezk 14:14,20 lists Noah among the three most righteousmen in history along with Job and Daniel

1 Chron 1:4 places Noah in the lineage of Abraham

Heb 11:7 By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things notyet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for thesaving of his household, by which he condemned the worldand became heir of the righteousness which is according tofaith.

The ark was God’s design

Gen 6:14-16 Make yourself an ark of gopher wood;make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside withpitch. 15 And this is how you shall make it: The length of theark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and itsheight thirty cubits. 16You shall make a window for the ark, andyou shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of theark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, andthird decks.

The gates of St. Peter’s basilica were made of gopherwood. They lasted for over 1000 yrs without signs of decay.

The ark was “pitched” within and without
