I feel immense pleasure to welcome you all in Geeta Adarsh College of education , Mehra, Kurukshetra. As this

institution is run by Geeta Adarsh Educational Research Society, where we are going to impart one year teacher

training programme under B.Ed.& D.Ed curriculum to achieve social , moralistic and human values, I am not only hope

but have �irm belief that the institution will occupy unique place in educational world in its lust green, spiritual and

intellectual environment by virtue of its devotion , dedication and determination effort , it is quite obvious , that the

student undergoing in the training will be nourished and inculcated in view of would be teacher, will exalt and gratify

the grandeur of teachers in true sense, with the hope and belief.

Well it is now time to do something for yourself. Let us give you the tools to manage your challenges and the stresses of

everyday living. How do we do this? We have an offer many courses to keep the mind and the body in tune. Leave your

Principal's Message

Welcome to Geeta Adarsh College of Education. The aim of the College is to provide qualitative teacher education.

The endeavour is to retain and channelise the energies of youthfulness while sensing the beautiful connectivity

between the heart, character, nation and the world.

The mind and the spirit of the students have to be awakened to look for, search and learn whatever is new to him. The

curricula is linked and is closely monitored providing the best opportunity for students to develop academic skills and

gradually expand knowledge.

Educational technology has permeated all areas of life. Our endeavour is to integrate technology and its range of

application 'throughout the classroom' in an attempt to improve the quality of learning instruction. Modern teaching

strategies, provision of student enrichment unit, recognition of various student learning styles and culture of

academic support create a special learning community at college.

Globalization and increasing diversity in man's needs has generated an enhanced demand for competitive skills, and

G.A.C.E. offers of B.Ed (Regular) and D.Ed (Regular) Teacher education courses. These courses

are duly approved by NCTE, Jaipur. For B.Ed. Course the college is af�iliated to Kurukshetra University,

Kurukshetra and for D.Ed. course to Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani and S.C.E.R.T.

Haryana, Gurgoan respectively. At present G.A.C.E. have 200 seats in B.Ed & 50 seats in D.Ed course.

Multi Purpose Hall

G.A.C.E has well equipped multipurpose hall. It acts as a

common ground for students, Faculty and renowned

educationists for regular interfaces, conference,

seminars and other events. For cultural events this Hall

is equipped with advanced communication tools and

public addressing system.

Language Lab

College has well equipped & well furnished language

lab for the development of various linguistic skills i.e.

listening, speaking, reading & writing. It is designed in

such a manner that students can practice carefully

produced pattern of drills & similar items. It is well

equipped with electronic devices i.e. the advisor's

system, hearing booth, control room, CD/DVs player,

charts diagrams & lingua phone for developing

linguistic skills.

Psychology Lab

Psychology studies human behavior in terms of its

growth & change, so that the behavior becomes

meaning full and signi�icant in life of individual. In this

lab, we have various psychology tests for assessing

creativity, personality, intelligence, interest, aptitude &

attitude of the students. All these tests, scales and

inventories enable the pupil teachers to know about

their potentials & skills.

Science Lab

Our Science lab is well equipped with all

facilities essential for science teaching. It is a

resource place of Life Science & Physical

Science teaching aid material. Demonstration

and Improvisation skills are being inculcated

among the students here.

Methods Lab

This lab is well equipped with all the equipments related with social studies & Mathematics i.e. Charts, models,

maps, tool kit, atlas, specimen transparencies of different historical & geographical places.

Art and Craft Lab

Work experience is a subject which primarily

aims at developing the skills, attaining

psychomotor development, improving

u n d e r s t a n d i n g l e v e l a n d b e h a v i o r

modi�ication of the students. Our art and

craft lab has been established for aesthetic

development of learners and for nourishing

the ski l ls o f drawing and paint ing ,

rejuvenating the waste material and the skill

of decorating a place with different things.

ICET Lab

Our campus has an advanced Information

communication & Educational Technology

(ICET) Resource Centre that provides

computing facilities comprising of the latest

HP/IBM machines linked with a wide range

of software. The lab is equipped with LCD

Projector, OHP, Slide Projector, T.V., VCD, Tape

Recorder, Radio.

Transport Facility

The college provides transport facility from adjoining areas of college campus.

Canteen

There is provision of canteen which caters hot & cold drinks, snacks , nutritious breakfast and delicious lunch.

Medical Facilities

To ensure your well being, GACE campus has provision of First aid room which has all the minimum basic facilities.

The service of consultant Doctors are always available in the hours of need.

The approach adopted at G.A.C.E. seeks to empower the students to harness their potential strengths to emerge as

positive, well-informed and con�ident individuals. The design of the course is composed of knowledge domain &

skill domain as following.

Knowledge Domain:

Since its foundation G.A.C.E. has a priviledge to invite eminent personalities for extension lecturers & seminars on

Teacher Education. Dr. Vivek Kohli, Principal S.L.D.A.V. college of education, Ambala city shared his expertise on

'Micro Teaching' with students. Sh. Roshan Lal Goel, Senior Lecturer, Indira Gandhi National College, Ladwa shared

the views on 'How to Teach English' with students and introduced them with problems and ground realities in

English Teaching. Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Lecturer, Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Shahbad extended her deliberations on

'Bhasha Ka Mahtva'. Sh. Rajender Saini (Employment Of�icer) extended his deliberations on registering the youth in

Employment exchange.

One day National Seminar on ' Classroom Climate: Emerging Perspectives, Techniques of Motivation and Moral

Building' was orgnised at college campus. Prof. K.K. Sharma, Prof. Rita Chopra, Dr. Taruna Dull and many other

dignitaries from the �ield of teacher education graced the event and extended their deliberations. Teacher

permits. Common rooms are furnished with comfortable chair, dinning tables and amusement facilities.

Sports Facilities

We provide indoor and outdoor game facilities to ensure all round development of the students. Annual Athletic

Meet and several sports competitions are being organized from time to time by the sports committee of the college.

Skill Domain:

The students are grouped into tutorials & sadans for syndicate learning for bringing about the healthy competitive

spirit & a sense of belonging. Sadan & tutorials occupy a prominent place in organizing activities in the college like

Talent Search Competition, Skill in Teaching and Annual Get-Together. We start the instructions with Daily Morning

Assembly to imbibe the values & for syndicate learning.

Community Participation:

The G.A.C.E. family serves in the academics as well as in the �ield of social welfare in terms of Pulse Polio drive,

Sanitation & cleanliness campaign, Women health, literacy and empowerment rallies, gender sensitization

Academic & Cultural Blend :Various activities are organized in the college from time to time like convocation and prize distribution Lohri

celebration, Teacher's day, International women's day ,talent search competition, Get together , etc.

Ist Convocation and prize distribution function was

organized at college campus in the year 2010. Sh. Akram

Khan, Deputy Speaker Vidhan Sabha, Haryana was the

Chief Guest. Degrees were distributed to the passed out

students. Medals and prizes were given to the

outstanding students of the college. Second Convocation

and prize distribution function was organized at the

college in the year 2013. Dr. Devender Sharma, Ex-

Minister, Govt. of Haryana was the Chief Guest. Diplomas

Educational Visits:

To enable the students to broaden their outlook &

to gain �irst hand experience, various educational

trips were organized during each session. Students

accompanied by their teacher visited Poanta Sahib

(2007-08) Geeta Jayanti Mohatsva and Book Fair of

National Book Trust (2010-11), SAARC Disaster

Management Centre, Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake,

Rose Garden, Mansa Devi Temple (2012-13)

Jyotisar,Kalpana Chawla Science Centre, Dharohar

and prizes were distributed to the students.

Three day introductory camp of Scouts and Guide was held on 6 May, 2013 to 8 May, 2013 at college campus. The

team of Scout and Guide Mr. Anil Kaushik, (State Org./Trg. Commissioner), Chandigrah, Mr. Sudesh Sharma

(Assistant Leader Trainer), Leader of the camp. Ms. Chandra Kanta,D.O.C(District Organizer Commissioner) Mr.

Sukhdev (Scout Master) and Mr. Sita Ram Scout Master. The motto behind this camp was not only to contribute in

the development of all students in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as

individuals, but also as in making of them a responsible citizen and as member of their local, national and

international communities.

Our students scaled the ladder of success in every sphere & won laurels to the college. District level inter college

1. All the students are required to be very regular in

studies.

2. Incase of emergency or illness, application on the

Leave form available from the college is submitted

through the tutorial Incharge. Resident student

should submit their leave application through the

hostel warden.

3. Leave for two days will be sanctioned by the tutorial

Incharge.

4. Leave for more than two days will be sanctioned by

the director-principal on the recommendation of

the tutorial Incharge.

5. Leave beyond four days will be sanctioned by the

principal on the recommendation of the tutorial

Incharge.

6. All application must be submitted in advance

except incase of sickness or unforeseen circum-

stances. Incase of sickness, medical certi�icate must

GUIDELINES AND RULES1. Every student has to attend at least 75% (B.Ed.),

85% (D.Ed.) respectively of the total number of

lectures delivered in each paper during the session.

Student, who falls short of lectures, cannot appear

in University examination.

2. During the period of course students must not

attend or take part in any government, anti-college

of subversive activities. Extreme penalty for such

activities is expulsion and forfeiture of character

certi�icate.

3. The B.Ed. & D.Ed. students must observe the rules

framed from time to time regarding the payment of

dues. Library, hostel, leave etc.

4. B.Ed. & D.Ed. are full time courses. The students are,

therefore, not allowed to study for any other

examination, or take up any part or full-time or

honorary job during the period of the course. In

case as student is detected to be undertaking some

remunerative job/employment. His/her admission

will be cancelled and he/she shall have no claim

upon the college whatsoever.

5. At any time during the course, the Principal may

drop from the rolls of the colleges a student who

does not abide by the college discipline or who fails

to make a reasonable progress in his/her studies.

6. Carrying Mobile Phones in the college campus is

banned by State Government. Every student is

required to keep his/her identity card in the college

7. If a student remains absent from his/her classes for

seven working days continuously, his/her name

will be struck off the college rolls. Irrespective of the

fact that he/she has paid his/her dues.

8. Any unhealthy habits such as Alcohol, smoking,

gutka/paan chewing are strictly prohibited.

Similarly, ragging is strictly prohibited; otherwise,

the offenders are liable to face legal action.

9. Students must attend classes as directed by the

college during term time. If attendance falls below

accepted level by the college, students are either

suspended or may not be allowed to take

examinations.

10. Absence of three days or more must be supported

by a Medical Certi�icate from the students' doctor.

We value self-discipline and do not believe in policing.

However any act of indiscipline or immoral behavior
