Information for all

AiRpaper is a digital data distribution platform built on the premise of India’s

Powerful radio network for government to reach citizens effectively. It

leverages on the usage of unused spectrum of the FM broadcast to carry

textual and pictorial data in regional and national languages to the common

man.

AiRpaper aims to keep the citizens of India informed on various government

schemes, policies and development activities that the government has

rolled-out in real time, and all these information is provided for free to the

citizens in each and every corner of the country without the use of internet.

FirstLight

Can you imagine the life without electricity?

It sounds horror and fearful right. It is this fearful and horror life that is being

lived by many of the rural populations in the state (Karnataka). We had the

worst power deficit in 25 years in the state this year (2015). With power cut

of 3-4 hours in the capital city Bengaluru and in rural belts, the power cut

ranges between 8-12 hours a day severely impacting rural livelihood.

FirstLight is a mechanical inverter that can be charged by physically

cranking the shaft. The inverter neither needs an electrical connection nor

requires a chemical battery to store power, it’s a plug and play inverter

which can be used at any location. The technology aims to provide power of

30W, which would be sufficient to light three 8W LED lights, for three hours

and also provides access to power for running radio and option for mobile

charging. FirstLight will replace the kerosene chimney’s and thus helps to

reduce health risk, poor illumination and carbon emission.

digital India initiative by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Intel

and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). Around 1900 ideas

were applied for the challenge from many startup’s across the country in

various domains including Healthcare, Agriculture, e-Governance and IOT.

“Airpaper” a product by GeekSynergy, initially got short listed as Top – 50,

then Top -20 and finally into Top -10 innovative technologies in IFDIC. The

technology aims to provide digital connect in the country to every citizen by

A B Sachin Anchan has one year work experience in Medical Imaging

Research Centre (MIRC) in Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE),

Bangalore where he interned for the duration. He has bachelor’s degree in

Electronics and Communication and Master’s degree in Biomedical Signal

Processing and Instrumentation from DSCE, Bangalore. He was part of the

team which is developing India’s first indigenous MRI scanner under ‘Make

in India’ regime and has contributed towards motion correction in MRI

simulator. He has five international conference papers published in one of

the leading international conference in the field, International Society of

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ISMRM 2015, Toronto, Canada) and also has

co-founded technologies in the field of motion correction in MRI for which

he has filed provisional Patent.
