A Lead Sheet is a sheet of music in jazz that has the melody written out in notation and the accompanying chord symbols. Jazz musicians will traditionally play the head melody accompanied by the chords, before improvising over the chord changes and finishing with the head again. Different jazz musicians will come up with wildly varied versions of the same piece using the same lead sheet.
Have You Met Miss Jones was written in 1937 by Richard Rogers and has been performed by many jazz legends such as:
