You will review a PARQ and why it is important to taking part in sport and activity.
You will work in a small group to identify the protocol for fitness testing areas of health related fitness and skill related fitness and present the information to the class.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
All pupils will be able to identify the reasons for carrying out fitness testing.
Most pupils will be able to identify the protocol for four different health related fitness tests and understand what they aspect of fitness they test.
Some pupils will be able to identify the protocol for all four different health related fitness tests and seven different skill related fitness test and understand what aspect of fitness they test.
FITNESS TESTING
With the person sitting next to you.
1. What is the purpose of fitness testing?
2. How many fitness tests can you name?
3. Can you identify the area of health related / skill related fitness they test?
4. When would you carry out fitness testing?
TASK 1 You have 15 mins to prepare a powerpoint
presentation to the class. You must use the template provided and identify the specific information needed.

Multi-Stage Fitness TestProtocol1. Measure out a 20 metres section and mark each end
with a cone. 2. Allow the athletes to perform a suitable warm-up.The test is conducted
The athlete must place one foot on or beyond the 20m marker at the end of each shuttle
If the athlete arrives at the end of a shuttle before the beep, the athlete must wait for the beep and then resume running
The athlete keeps running for as long as possible until he/she can longer keep up with the speed set by the CD at which point they should voluntarily withdraw
If the athlete fails to reach the end of the shuttle before the beep they should be allowed 2 further shuttles to attempt to regain the required pace before being withdrawn
Record the level and number of shuttles completed at that level by the athlete
