GC CORPORAT ION
F o r e w o r d f r o m o u r C E O
Since starting business in 1921, GC Corporation has strived to make
continuous improvements in the field of dental care.
Our success is due in part to our corporate philosophy of “Semui” — a
Japanese ideology that represents a combination of selflessness, objectivi-
ty, charity and wisdom. These principles guide our approach to developing
innovative new products that are changing the face of dentistry, and they are
the guiding force for our American subsidiary, GC America, as well.
In addition, we advocate a management approach that includes:
• Improving corporate quality and meeting customer expectations
• Forming a team of associates brimming with energy and respect for their fellow human beings
• Contributing to the environment and society by improving oral hygiene
This approach has helped us establish and maintain a talented team of
professionals, all committed to growth as individuals and as a whole. We
consider our associates, at all corners of the globe, to be indispensable
members of the GC family, society, and company. Our reputation for quality
and reliability is built on the talent and reliability of our associates. By
creating opportunities for each of them, we follow a path to success as a
business.
We are proud that GC America is leading the way in shifting the American
dental industry from a basic treatment philosophy, to a minimal intervention
approach. We are pleased to be providers of the innovative products that
allow for this shift to be made not only in North America, but on a global scale
as well.
Makoto Nakao
President and Chief Executive Officer
GC Corporation
In 2000, GC became the first company in the dental industry to be awarded
the Deming Application Prize. In 2003, GC became only the 18th company
in the world to have won the Japan Quality Medal, the pinnacle of quality
control. As a mark of the company's reputation, the global marketplace has
come to recognize GC's products as being synonymous with quality and
eco-friendliness.

The GC America team is so committed to research, and continual improve-
ment of our products. To date, this commitment has paid off, with GC prod-
ucts being recognized throughout the world for their superior quality. Even
our production facilities have been honored with international quality certifica-
tions and awards.
To ensure that GC America Inc. and its sister companies can continue to
meet the expectations of our customers in 2006, GC Corporation opened a
dedicated, state-of-the-art research center in Tokyo, Japan. This facility pro-
motes synergy and creative inspiration throughout all GC Corporation sub-
sidiaries, and sets the foundation for local operations in America.
The center was specially designed with an open concept. This unique open
environment helps to foster better communication and to promote synergy
between all on-site Research and Development teams — and our scientists
and research chemists continue to work on formulations, commercialization,
raw materials assessment, quality testing, and new product line extensions.
GC is committed to achieving corporate growth, through the individual
growth of our associates and partners. Therefore, ongoing training and
education play important roles in how we do business.
As part of this effort, we have our own, dedicated training center. Dental
professionals come here to learn about our latest innovations, and to ensure
that their skills are always current. The facility is fully equipped, including a
closed circuit operatory, a comprehensive training laboratory, which can be
used for continuing education seminars, summits and workshops. In addi-
tion, web-based training modules are offered for those who cannot attend in
person.
This investment in training helps us create an atmosphere of innovation —
and keeps us on the path to success.

Seminars & Lectures by Experts in the field
GC America’s future is grounded in the energy we create for our associates,
and ultimately, our customers and their patients. Therefore, we work for the
good of our workforce, our communities, our customers — and ultimately,
for improved oral health individuals throughout the world.
Our Japanese colleagues call this the “Nakama” spirit: the synergy of col-
leagues who all benefit from working together in a positive environment.
“Nakama,” is the philosophy on which we build our corporate environment
— allowing our associates to take on new challenges without fear of failure.
It is the driving force behind our policy to hold others in high esteem, no mat-
ter what their position, and to practice a constructive approach to every chal-
lenge. By setting aside organizational barriers, and encouraging communica-
tion, we empower our team to understand each other as individuals. The
result is a workplace where everyone can make the most of their abilities.
NAKAMA SP IR IT
GC Corporation comprises a family of companies serving people across the
globe. As the company’s U.S. subsidiary, GC America Inc. is centrally
headquartered in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, and is a leading
manufacturer of professional dental products for dentists, hygienists and
laboratory technicians throughout North and South America.
At GC America Inc, we value our customers’ satisfaction above all else. Our
commitment to our customers never wavers.
We are a team of experts, all focused on these fundamental values:
• Quality through innovation and understanding customer needs
• Superior manufacturing practices
• Advanced sales and marketing techniques
• Strong customer relations
• Fair pricing policies
• Recognition of our responsibility to our community and our environment
• Equal employment opportunities, with room for growth
Our heritage as a family-owned business, focusing strictly on the
manufacturing of products for the dental industry, has helped us maintain our
core vision of making positive contributions toward the oral health of people
around the world.
We work towards this vision each day, by creating environmentally friendly
products, making ongoing improvements for the good of our customers, and
engaging our team with dynamic, creative and respectful associates.
GC America understands that customer satisfaction ultimately depends on
two key elements: quality of products and services, and associate satisfac-
tion.
With this in mind, we have worked to build and retain an excellent team —
from manufacturing and logistics, to enthusiastic sales and marketing profes-
sionals, to supporting staff. Each is dedicated to our mission of creating the
most innovative dental products available today — providing dental
professionals with effective, easy-to-use materials, and resulting in positive
outcomes for the patients.

associates. We provide skill development, internal promotion opportunities,
competitive pay and generous benefit programs (including profit sharing), as
well as associate appreciation events and wellness initiatives.
Feedback from associates is solicited annually in our Associate Satisfaction
Survey, so that we can find ways to continue improving our work
environment. Our global values of safety, effectiveness and respect are
evident in our local practices as well.

The dental industry is undergoing a dynamic change. Patients are ever more
aware of treatment possibilities, the patient-doctor ratio is increasing,
consolidation and strategic M&A activities among major manufacturers and
dealers have dramatically intensified
In a competitive environment, GC America Inc. is proud to be in pursuit of
full-scale Total Quality Management as a tool to improve daily management.
The standardization of work and establishment lends for a more efficient
management system for coping with the change in an ever-changing
environment. Our corporate goal is one of ultimate Customer Satisfaction.
The core essence of which is the “NAKAMA” spirit, a Japanese philosophy
about the recognition of all associates as individuals working in a team
environment. GCA pursues these principles as basic morals. With this in
mind, we are proud to have given priority to quality and the pursuit of
“Quality-Oriented” strategies in every process.

I NNOVAT IVE PRODUCTS
GC America Inc. is striving to advance the art and science of dentistry with
unique products with the sole aim of patient safety and satisfaction. Our
corporate portfolio is built on the philosophy of minimum intervention, and
develop the tools necessary to help dental professionals achieve this goal.
Minimum Intervention (or MI) dentistry is an innovative and progressive
departure from traditional “drill and fill” dentistry. This philosophy embraces
the medical model of treating dental problems by focusing not only at
treating the root cause but also preventing it. Our latest innovations help
strengthen and protect teeth, so that dental professionals have the best
products at their disposal to help them take a much more proactive
approach to total patient care and not merely fixing the symptoms. Our
product line includes comprehensive dental repair materials that are both
attractive and durable. This means they can transition from restoring and
repairing teeth to focusing on the prevention of dental problems.

1. Identify — Products used to identify potential risks before a certain
dental problem exists. Dental professionals can now use our Saliva
Check Buffer™, Saliva Check Mutans™ and Plaque Indicator Kit™ to
measure and asses the level of risk a patient has for developing dental
decay.
2. Protect — Preventive products allow high risk patients who are at risk
from developing dental problems. Products like Fuji Triage™, MI Paste™
and MI Paste Plus™ has set a whole new standard in preventive dental
care. For the first time, these products not only prevent dental problems
but actually strengthens the teeth. It is like vitamins for your teeth. MI
Paste Plus™ is the first product that delivers bio-available calcium, phos-
phate and fluoride in the exact ratio of 5:3:1, the same ratio found in nat-
ural healthy teeth.
3. Restore — Our restorative range like Fuji™ glass ionomers, Gradia™
Direct composites and Initial™ ceramics offer the dental professionals a
wide array of quality esthetic choices from which to restore teeth to its
natural life-like appearance.
The 3 pilars of MI dentistry ensures GC America Inc. stays in the forefront of
comprehensive dental care for the total well being of the patient.
These three aspects of product development are critical to us — particular-
ly when the products we make are being used in patient’s mouths. It is
essential that the materials delivered to our customers exhibit the highest
standards of excellence. After all, patients’ safety — and dentists’ reputations
C o r p o r a t e P o r t f o l i o
