Converged next-generation transport network

iPASOLINK GX

<All-outdoor L2/L3 cell site router>

iPASOLINK GX performs L3 and L2 switching capability in all outdoor environments. This

all-outdoor cell site router achieves a nodal solution at each cell site without requiring any

indoor installation space. Moreover, it achieves high-capacity radio transmission in

collaboration with NEC’s all-outdoor radios.

■ GbE Interface (electrical and optical)■ Rich packet feature with QoS / L2 switches and L3 routing protocols ■ Enables nodal aggregation and ring, mesh topologies ■ High-capacity transmission by line bonding ■ Easy deployment •Power over Ethernet (PoE) •Compact, light weight •Quick installation & provisioning •Easy maintenance■ Zero footprint■ Eco friendly •Low power consumption

The high switching capability of the iPASOLINK 100/200/400/1000

series achieves multi-radio ways (max. 20 ways) by connecting the

NEC All-Outdoor Radio (AOR) to the Ethernet ports of the

iPASOLINK. This means network expansion for new last-mile

connectivity can be achieved rapidly at low cost by deploying NEC’s

AOR.

Use example 1: New link for last PtP mile

Use example 2: New link for small-cell sites

The advantages of iPASOLINK 100/200/400/1000 and NEC AOR collaboration for network expansion are as follows:■ Time to Market■ CAPEX/OPEX Reduction • Lightened CME work • Shorter time and reduced manpower for I&C • No preparation for shelter, IDU rack, etc for indoor unit • Low power consumption and minimized CO2 emission

Increased efciency, effective optimization by all-outdoor transport network products

All-outdoor transport network solution

Today’s frontline network services such as LTE and femtocell have great potential to spread widely throughout

the world. To further popularize these services, the following challenges must be overcome because the area

coverage of an e-Node B is far smaller than the already-prevailing 2G and 3G service base stations.

1. TCO expansion by increasing the number of base stations and mobile backhaul.

2. Difculties in acquiring locations for network equipment in metropolitan areas.

NEC delivers all-outdoor transport solutions that answer these challenges, with its full lineup of such

products, shown below.

• iPASOLINK AX: 6 – 38 GHz band all-outdoor radio for small/macro-cell backhaul solutions

• iPASOLINK SX: 59 – 63 GHz band all-outdoor radio for small-cell backhaul solutions

• iPASOLINK EX: 71 – 86 GHz band all-outdoor radio for small/macro-cell backhaul solutions

• iPASOLINK GX: All-outdoor L2/L3 cell site router

NEC’s total solutions will provide a more efcient and effectively optimized transport network for frontline

network services and will help mobile-network operators to address backhaul-migration challenges while

realizing low-cost ownership.

End-to-end solutions from the iPASOLINK family

The iPASOLINK family provides end-to-end solutions from last-mile

access for both small and macro cells, to backhaul aggregation and

to the metro network in mobile backhaul. All-outdoor radio is newly

applicable for small cells in the transport network.

<6 - 38 GHz all-outdoor microwave radio>

iPASOLINK AX supports regulated license frequency bands, and is suitable for

short-to-long-range transmission. It is highly effective for small/macro-cell links.

iPASOLINK EX

iPASOLINK AX

iPASOLINK SX

■ High spectrum efciency / Scalability •QPSK to 256QAM/1024QAM AMR■ GbE Interface (electrical and optical)■ Easy deployment •Power over Ethernet (PoE) •Antenna direct mount •Compact, light weight •Quick installation & provisioning •Easy maintenance■ Zero footprint■ Eco friendly •Low power consumption

<59 - 63 GHz all-outdoor millimeter wave radio>

iPASOLINK SX supports unlicensed frequency bands, is suitable for short-range

transmission and effective for small-cell links.

■ Zero spectrum cost •Unlicensed frequency band (59 - 63 GHz)■ High spectrum efciency •QPSK to 256QAM adaptive modulation■ Easy deployment •Power over Ethernet (PoE) •All-in-one integrated antenna •Compact, light weight •Quick installation & provisioning •Easy maintenance■ Zero footprint■ Eco friendly •Low power consumption

<71 - 86 GHz all-outdoor millimeter wave radio>

iPASOLINK EX supports the e-band frequency, and is applicable for short-to-middle-range

transmission and effective for small/macro-cell links.

With its high transmission capacity, iPASOLINK EX is also applicable for backhaul

aggregation and metro networks as an alternative for the ber network.

■ Efcient spectrum utilization■ High-capacity transmission •Up to 1600 Mbps transmission rates■ High spectrum efciency •QPSK to 256QAM adaptive modulation■ Easy deployment •Power over Ethernet (PoE) •All-in-one integrated antenna •Compact, light weight •Quick installation & provisioning •Easy maintenance■ Zero footprint■ Eco friendly •Low power consumption
