The Vyapam scam originatingfrom Madhyapradesh is becomingcuriouser by the day. The number ofsuspicious deaths increasingeveryday is a very disturbingoccurrence. lt is good that thesupreme court is seized of the matterand has ordered for a C.B.I. enquiry.The media has a leading role to playin only coming out with establishedfacts and should not play the role ofan opportunistic politician. Let thewhole truth come out and all theguilty should be punished withoutfear or favour. When a scam breaksout in any state it is only incumbenton the state administration to takecognizance of it and proceedaccordingly. To expect the primeminister to give his views on them isneither warranted nor appropriate.

The l'affaire Lalitmodi has taken aback seat since the time Modi startedshowing accusing fingers atCongress leaders too. lt is no secretthat Lalit modi was close to MrSarad pawar who was antagonisticto Mr Srinivasan the former B C C Ichief. There are more honour killingsthese days involving the dalit youthsin certain parts of Tamilnadu. Theseincidents involve predominantlylove affairs which are hated by theelders in these communities.Legislation will have very little roleto play when human sensitivities areinvolved. lt might be impossible tobring in a casteless society in Indiaand the best way to go forward willbe to ban all community basedorganisations including the politicalparties. This should include the SCand STs also. The increasingmuscle power of the SCs coupledwith the constitutional protections tothem have not been accepted by theintermediate communities whichhave become more forceful inmaintaining their caste identities. Inone of the TV debates there was agentleman who said that hiscommunity was all for lovemarriages but let the people lovewithin their own communities so thatthere is no heart burn. In a countrywhere caste has played a pivotal rolefor social hormony his views on lovemarriages cannot be brushed aside.

Sri Gayatri Charitable Trust, Perambur with theblessings of Almighty and of the Acharyas isengaged in social service activities in and aroundPerambur for nearly a decade.

Lakshmi Srinivasarao Viridhdhasramam -homefor the aged is under construction at Manavur, asmall town sandwitched between the holy places ofThiruvallore and Thiruvalankadu, famousvaishnavite and saivite places respectively.

The inaugural construction work was blessed byKanchi Kamakoti Peedathipathi His Holiness SriJayendra Saraswathi Swamigal on 21 -09-2008 andwe are desirous of dedicating the home for the agedby the end of year 2014. The Phase I of the projecthas already been completed and was inaugurated byMrsLakshmi Srinivasarao on 4th September 2009.

The tenements are to be constructed accordingto the needs of the inmates, self sufficient one bedroom apartments (Around 400 Sq. ft. Area) and alarge dormitary which will accomodate around 20persons.

The complex will have a common Kitchen cumDining hall where only vegetarian food of high qualitywill be served. A Library and a recreation hall to bebuilt will be of an added value to the inmates. Regularmedical attention to the inmates will also beprovided. The Sathyanarayana temple at the head ofthe complex will be the place of religious activities

that will bring tranquility, psychological comfortand spirituality to the inmates.

There has been a delay in the construction workof the vriddhas ram for want of funds.As the project is,n a peripheral area we are desirous of constructing amajor part of the vriddhasram in a single phase toaccommodate the inmates atieast 20 of themsimultaneously. Hence the donors are requested tohelp us construct the project as a early as possible.Considerable development of the porject site astaken place with the electricity and water supplybeing provided. The approach roads to the site arewell developed the site is 4 km from perambakkamon the Thandalam - Thakkolam National High wayand 15 km from the greenfield airportand 3 km fromthe suncity.

A Gosala and kitchen garden will be addedattractions. The approximate cost of single bed roomappartment will be around 5 lacs per unit The cost ofconstruction of the dormitory will be around Rs. 30Lacs. Donors names will be inscribed for donationover Rs. 2000 and rooms will be named after theDonor for Rs. 1.5 lakhs. Tax Exemption under 80G isavailable.
