Our Topic…

• How does gas consumption in Bryan/ College Station effect the rest of the world?

What is the problem with Gas Consumption?

• Fuel is non renewable which means we are draining the Earth of its resources.

What kinds of gas do we have?

• We have a variety of gases called, biogas, landfill gas, coal mine gas, sewage gas, combustible industrial waste gases and site-specific special gases. One of are more friendly gases is Ethanol gas, people are slowly using this gas more and more through out the world.

The effects of Gas Consumption

• We are using too much gas everyday. Just the USA alone is using billions a year! Soon enough we will run out of gas and will have to use other vehicles that run on other materials such as Hybrids or just even walking.

Effects on Health because of gas Consumption.

• When you drive around in a big city, your car pollutes the air with carbon monoxide. People who are infants, pregnant, or elderly are more high risked to get impairments. Some impairments include Pulmonary, Cardiac, Vascular, and Neurological impairments. The most common thing is Respiratory problems.

How does gas affect our environment?

• The extraction of natural gas and the construction of natural gas power plants destroys natural habitats for animals and plants. Possible land resource impacts include erosion, loss of soil productivity, and landslides. If the plants and animals keep being destroyed our food resources will grow short and more people will grow sick.

Money down the gas tank

• Men and Women who drive cars, or any other vehicle, use gas almost every other day. Some of these people use food stamps because of the money they use for gas. A way to decrease the amount of money spent on gas is to conserve the amount of transportation used.

Amount of Gas used in Texas

• There is not a specific amount used in Texas because of how much we use every day so it is hard to keep up with the amount. The estimated number of how much gas used is around at least thousands of gallons a DAY!

Amount of gas used in the USA

• The United States consumes over 20 million barrels (840 million gallons) of petroleum products each day, almost half of it in the form of gasoline used in over 200 million motor vehicles with combined travel over 7 billion miles per day.

Our gas consumption video

• Questions to be answered…• Is gas cheaper to buy at a gas station

or call a supplier? • When people call and order any kind of

chemicals you have, how much do they ask for?

• How many types of chemicals does your company sell?

• If people started to not use as much gas, for example if people walked, would your company survive?

What will we use when the fuel is all gone?

Some solutions….• Hybrid cars• Walking• Riding bikes• Ethanol Fuel cars• Finding a car/vehicle that runs on

other energy sources.

How does a Hybrid car work?

• Electric cars don’t have a gas motor they have an electricity motor. It gets energy from a controller, it regulates the amount of power based on the drivers accelerator pedal. It also has rechargeable batteries with stored energy inside.

What does gas also affect besides vehicles?

• Generators• Lawn Mowers• Weed Eaters• Farming Equipment• Flammable Purposes
