GENERAL MANAGER

Darcy was brought up in the car business. From a very young age she took a liking to being involved with the industry. She has experience in nearly every aspect of a dealership from cleaning cars and trucks, answering phones, working on the service counter, accounting, finance, sales, and much more. In 2003 Darcy was presented the opportunity to run her own store, G. Stone Commercial Division. Her respect for the store’s cliental is something that she prides her reputation on. She proudly attends many auctions to hand pick the equipment and trucks that are sold at the store. Darcy is proud to be a successful woman working in what she sees as being a male dominated industry.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL & TRAILER

MANAGERJamie grew up on a family dairy farm, which he helped run until 1993. Upon leaving the family business he worked an interim job doing custom farm crop work. It was this experience that led Jamie to G. Stone Motors, where he began working that same year. Jamie quickly made his way from the wash rack to prepping new vehicles, oil changes, and many other services.

Showing great ambition, he soon moved to the sales department where his drive landed him salesman of the month three months in a row. In 2009 Jamie moved to G. Stone’s Commercial Division focusing both on sales and rentals. Jamie loves working at G. Stone and 2016 marks his nineteenth year with the company.

RENTAL GUIDELINES

1. A rental agreement must be signed prior to pick up or delivery.

2. Rates are based on 10 hours per day, 5 days per week, and 20 ten-hour days in any one 28 consecutive day period. Should equipment be used longer, the overtime rate will prevail.

3. Rates are based on time out, not time used.

4. All equipment is delivered with a full tank of fuel. If equipment is returned without a full tank, Lessee will be billed accordingly.

5. Lessee is responsible for daily maintenance, unusual wear and tear, and any tire repairs.

6. Physical Damage and Liability Insurance is required from the Lessee for the equipment against damage, theft, or vandalism. A certificate of insurance is required in order to rent equipment.

7. Lessee will not move equipment to another location without permission from G. Stone Commercial.

8. No equipment listed may be sublet by the Lessee.

9. Lessee will return equipment in a reasonably clean condition. Lessee will be billed for excessive clean up at posted shop rates.

10. Lessee is responsible for all transportation charges.

11. Rental charges will continue on equipment until G. Stone Commercial has been notified that the equipment is ready to be picked up.

12. Prices are subject to change without notice.

13. All rentals are subject to availability.

NOTE: State and local permits have additional fees when required.

Use of starting fluid on any of our equipment is strictly prohibited! Lessee will be billed for damage from this use.

Andrew Doaner

Vermont native, Andrew Doaner grew up locally in Rutland. He graduated from Mill River Union High School in 2005. During school he completed an auto body refinishing course at the Stafford Technical Center. Andrew showed great entrepeunerial ambition from the get go when he started a trucking company at the young age of nineteen. Rising fuel costs soon forced Andrew into liquidation, and he found jobs in local body shops for the next ten years. This path soon led Andrew to G. Stone Commercial where he has worked for almost three years as head of the heavy truck division.

Thomas Hubbard

From a very young age Tom found a fascination with how things worked. His parents would often laugh as he dragged home junk televisions and radios in order to disassemble them. This fascination continued as he grew into a young adult. His passion for snow-cross and dirt biking furthered this fascination in mechanics. As he describes, “Anything that either smoked, had an engine, or made noise I wanted to be next to.” Tom sought an education in Daytona Beach, Florida where he attended a six month certification course in marine mechanics. Upon returning to Vermont, Tom found a job at G. Stone in the Small Engine Department. Tom now works in the Commercial Division. He proudly exclaims, “If it’s broken... at G. Stone Commercial, we’ll fix it.”

Pat Kachmar

Growing up amongst an assortment of cars, trucks, and tractors on a large Vermont hog farm, Pat became intrigued by fixing machinery at a young age. Later he entered the auto parts industry, working for Maynard Auto Supply. Pat then moved to New Hampshire where he would pursue and graduate with a mechanics degree. Since then, twenty years have passed and Pat has maintained his passion. In March 2016, he joined the G. Stone family and looks forward to his future there.

Gardner Stone, owner of both G. Stone Commercial Division and G. Stone Motors, began his business in 1974. In addition to taking out a second mortgage on his house, Gardner borrowed every dime he could to purchase a small garage on Route 7 South in Middlebury, Vermont. At first, his inventory consisted of only four vehicles, but his drive and determination quickly grew the dealership into a successful business. His countless dedicated hours at the dealership allowed Gardner to move the operation to its third and current location on, Route 7 in Middlebury as a Ford and GMC franchise. G. Stone Motors offers a wide variety of new and used cars and trucks. Today, the dealership is run by Gardner, his son Todd, and Todd’s son, Justin. In the early 2000’s, Gardner wanted to offer something new to his clients, and thus the G. Stone Commercial Division was born. Today, Gardner and his daughter Darcy, run the G. Stone Commercial Division.
