SHADOW STUDY10.02.2013

This satellite photo was taken on October 29th, 2011 and locates the project neighborhood and site for the project.

The following page is the Assessor’s Parcel Map which was used in coordination with USGS topographic maps to input the property line data for the adjacent and abutting properties and to input the general slope of the ground for the neighborhood.

The plan and height dimensions were surveyed in the field. The most important dimensions are the heights of the properties and the horizontal separation distances relative to one another. Supporting sketches are provided as relevant.

The shading study views are taken from a camera location that is 200 feet above the ground.

For the required shading times in December and June (plus the equinox), we provide the existing and proposed shading conditions for direct comparison. Our analysis method allows the reader to assess the extent of shading on both horizontal and vertical surfaces.
