LOG CABINLog cabin are an ideal solution to many of your storage and space

problems. Ideal for use as a workshop and equally well suited as a

place to spend a sultry summer. log cabin are also used by many as

an extension to their house for spare accommodation or as an offi ce.

Tuindeco offer a complete and comprehensive range of buildings

in 19 to 28 – 34 to 40 – 45 to 50 – 58 to 70mm thick logs. Tuindeco

use 1st Quality Swedish timber. The selected pine is then milled to

produce tongue and groove with corner interlocking joints

Our log cabin are extremely easy to install even for those with

minimal DIY skills. No special tools are needed other than a saw,

screw driver and hammer. Each kit contains a comprehensive

construction manual. Tuindeco cabins are all supplied un-treated.

It is advisable to treat the timber prior to installation.

When ready you can start building. One installation is complete we

advise you treat your building with coats of quality wood preservative.

The most important part of installing your cabin is to ensure you have a good base, this must be 100% level and is essential for an easy fi t

and long life of your cabin. If you are using our drainage impregnated foundation beams we recommend that you treat these as well.

If you are using our hardwood beams this is not necessary.

Log cabin are supplied with felt tiles (unless otherwise stated) in black, red, and green. Beaver tale shingles are also available in the same

colours. If a colour is not chosen at point of order, black is sent automatically.

All our log cabin packages include all the fasteners and a cylinder lock and key. Each cabin is supplied with glass. A timber fl oor and guttering

sets are available as options. For log cabin regularly exposed to extreme weather we also offer storm kits.

Tuindeco log cabin are unique and incorporate wind and waterproof angle connections. Our cabins are usually available from stock.

Tip:

Tuindeco offer a range of carefully selected treatment for purchase with your cabin.

Another option is to have your cabin pre-painted in one of our colours shown on page 88.

If you don’t want your cabin painted, you could also have it impregnated (see page 88)

IMPREGNATION of your Cabin

We can provide and impregnation service for your log cabin increasing it’s life using an impregnation process which guards against rot and fungal decay.

The process covers the entire building including doors and windows and is benefi cial as all the grooves, notches, rebates are treated where a brush cannot

reach. Impregnation is the perfect base to ensure a very long life but it does not remove completely the need for maintenance.

We do still recommend a further treatment of stain or paint in the following years.

PAINTING of your log cabin

Tuindeco offer a painting service for many of our products if you do not wish to paint and treat yourself. Our log cabin can be sprayed with a choice of colour

as required, this includes inside and outside of the building and in addition the roof. We are only able to offer one colour on each building.

The painting service also covers other products such as gazebo’s, fences, bridge parts, posts boards etc.

In the case of gazebo’s only one side of the roof is painted as the covering is on the top face.

Ask your dealer for more information.

Option 1:

We spray the base coat for you. Upon installation the customer provides the top cover. The base coat is a primer and will match your chosen top coat.

Option 2:

We apply the base colour, dry and then apply the top coat. We do recommend another coat within 2 years due to weather conditions.

We use a professional paint system that is designed to meet the highest standards. We use a European paint; Perkoleum by Koopmans and would

recommend that subsequent applications also use this paint available from you Tuindeco dealer.

Perkoleum Opaque

Traditional Super Stains

Our climate is susceptible to varying weather conditions and as such

it is extremely important to treat your timber to protect against the

impact of these variations.

We recommend Perkoleum or Ecoleum Koopmans paint.

It’s important to choose a quality protection for your woodwork!

Perkoleum is a solvent based, opaque or transparent paint stain for

almost all outdoor wood, such as: sheds, log cabin, timber

buildings and fencing.

Through a combination of traditional linseed oil which is excellant and

modern binders it produces an impregnation power giving optimum

moisture regulation and very smooth application. The addition of

linseed oil makes Perkoleum less damaging to the environment, it

also provides a durable elasticity allowing the continued protection of

the timber. Risk of cracking is kept to a minimum. Another advantage

with Perkoleum is that no primer is needed, the base coat and top

coat are provided in one go!! The colours have been for years the top

colour of choice for homes and gardens (recreation) houses.

These are colours that refl ect a personal experience.

Ecoleum provides protection of untreated raw and fi nely sawn timber. The high content of linseed oil gives very good impregnating properties. It is the ideal

product for the treatment of example: (cap) barns, fences, pergolas and sleepers. The high solids content (ca. 90%) means only one coat is necessary for years

of protection. One layer corresponds to 3 or 4 layers of ordinary garden stain. Furthermore Ecoleum moisturizes, and it does not deteriorate so the paint fi lm can

not fl ake and peel. From an ecological standpoint its environmentally friendly replacement for the real Ecoleum carbolineum. Further requirements Perkoleum
