Garba Night, 2015

SCET-Faculty of Engineering Ohhh…..it was really mesmerizing and fun filled night…yes Garba Night-2015, organized on

30th

October, 2015 under the banner of Social and Cultural Committee, Student Activity Council,

2015-2016. Function started around 7.00 PM at amphitheater, SCET ground.

As a part of function, office bearers of SES were invited with invitation card along with a pair of

dandiya. Amphitheater of SCET ground was decorated with colorful lights along with beautifully

decorated temple for MAA AMBE.

Garba Night began with pleasing MAA AMBE by an auspicious aarti, done by Shri Sudhir

Desai (Chairman’s Representative SCET), Dr. Vaishali Mungurwadi (Principal SCET), Prof.

Himanshu Padhya (I/C Principal SCET), and organizing team of staff and students.

After this, big round of BE TALI Garba was started initially in which few staff members and

students have participated. Then ground was left open for all kind of Garba and Dodiya round.

For the function, music arrangement was done by Pappubhai Orchestra and Company, very well

known musical band in surat and vicinity around.

Jury members invited were, Bhaviben Modi and Leenaben Vaidya, expert at classical and

traditional dances. Four prizes were announced by jury members, two for best dress (male &

female) and two for best Garba dance (male & female).

To support the function, three days workshop was organized by SCET Dance Club for staff and

students both, to teach Garba and Dodiya.

Function lasted for 3 hours and called off around 10 PM. Overall, great fun filled time was

witnessed by students and staff of SCET at its fullest.

With the combined efforts of Social and Cultural Committee and Student Activity Council,

2015-2016, it could have been possible to host such a wonderful Garba Night.

Special thanks to Dr. Vaishali Mungurwadi, Principal, SCET, for giving permission to host such

event and for all the support to make the event successful.

Finally extensive thanks to all the staff members and students of SCET engineering who have

witnessed and enjoyed the event.
