FINANCIAL ACHIEVEMENTSDue to recent and repeated years of

financial irresponsibility, the Gamma Nu chapter had dug itself into a deep fiscal hole. At the beginning of the semester, we owed around $8,500 to National. Through hard work and perseverance we needed to alleviate this overwhelming debt, and we

managed to do just that on Tuesday, November 5th. A lot was needed to be done including sending brothers to collections, participating in fundraisers and charity events, winning school events, and brothers actively paying their financial obligations ahead of time.

NATIONAL AWARDS

“Most Outstanding Recruitment Growth” & “Commitment to Continued Growth”

On October 18th, Gamma Nu was recognized with TWO National awards. We tirelessly dedicate ourselves on being the ideal chapter and strive to receive more awards in recognition of our efforts and pursuit of excellence.

Now with our financial situation resolved and our outstanding debt relieved, Gamma Nu has devised a plan to best invest our money. In attempt to not re-enact the amount of debt we just worked so hard to get rid of, we have committed to not spending any money until 2014. This way we can stockpile and accumulate a budget so that we as a chapter could invest in some nice things in the near future.

Once the chapter acquires an adequate financial balance, brothers have tossed around some ideas for some future luxuries in reciprocity for our hard work and commitment. Some of the ideas that we have thought to better the chapter include: an out-of-town Rose Ball, cable, Wi-Fi, and new furniture for the house, DJs for major parties, as well as the chapter (not brothers!) paying for Mid-Year.

December 2nd, 2013New Brother Initiation Ritual

Finals WeekDecember 4th - Dec. 9th

Mid-YearJan 3rd - Jan 5th

Brother Initiation First off, I would like to say that we as a chapter couldn’t wait for our new associate members to become full-fledged brothers. They have been working diligently on learning the principles that this fraternity has been built on. In my opinion, this twelve member pledge class has been one of the best groups we’ve had in recent history, and they have the potential to contribute great deeds for this chapter. With that being said, not all has been going to plan. The new associate members have lasted Brother Appreciation Week, accomplished all they needed to become brothers, and they collectively passed the Blackspot Initiation Test. However, due to time constraints and some uncontrollable factors, the new pledge class has not gone through the Ritual of Initiation. Although we’re facing this rather unfortunate circumstance, we are making the most of this situation. With consultation from Brother Ron DeValinger RN 37, as well as our Chapter Advisor Jim Hardy RN 250, we have classified our newest members as “neophytes”. We have informed them that due to their hard work and diligence that we are giving them the same rights and respect as brothers, however we cannot give them the official title of “brother” since they have not gone through Initiation. Therefore, the Ritual of Initiation has been rescheduled to December 2nd.
