under Grand Lodge direct supervision, Lodge Wellington No. 1385 in Antwerp and Lodge Allegiance No. 1465 in Brussels. We have a Members jewel from Lodge Allegiance in our display cabinet.

Lodge St. Bryde News. Land Trust Update. At the Management Committee Meeting on 5th. April the Lodge Secretary outlined in detail the Guardian Stone quotation for the restoration of the exterior of the Masonic Hall. He also gave an account of a meeting with representatives of the

Land Trust at which the proposed project was discussed in detail. Funding A letter had been received from the Land Trust and this was read in full and confirmed that a grant of £23,000 was being made available from The Land Trust for the restoration project. The Lodge Fund Raising was also discussed and it was agreed that the Lodge had raised sufficient funds for the whole project to be completed this year. It was also agreed that two recommendations made be acted on , That the roller shutter door be replaced with a door more in keeping with the exterior of the building and secondly, that when the works are completed a building inspection be carried out by Rentokil Building Inspectors (who conducted a survey a number of years ago). It was also confirmed that Fund Raising be continued as the Hall was approaching its Centenary and the Lodge its 150th. Anniversary. The decisions of the AGM and Committee to concentrate Fund Raising activities of the Restoration of the Hall were also confirmed. This was excellent news from the Land Trust gives the Lodge a tremendous boost. Work is scheduled to start in July .

Lodge St. Bryde News. Special Meeting at Lodge Coltswood No. 1067. Our Lodge has been invited to attend a Special Meeting of Lodge Coltswood No. 1067 on Friday 9th. June and confer a F.C. Degree as part of the Lodge official twinning with Lodge Fidelite

Occitane No. 1067 GLNF. The Provincial Grand Master, R.W. Bro. Christian Bonzi of the Province of Terres du Temple will be in attendance with a Deputation from the GNLF. A Deputation from the Grand Lodge of Scotland is also expected as this will be the first twinning with a Scottish

Lodge. Masonic Film Premier. Lodge Mother Kilwinning No. 0 was the setting for the world premier screening of TERRA MASONICA (around the world in 80 Lodges) by Bro. Tristan Boulard from Belgium. The film which is the first in a series, explores Freemasonry and Masonic Halls in many countries throughout the world. From Kilwinning to North America, South America, The Artic, Europe , Africa and India. An interesting point was the persecution that Freemasons suffered under the ruthless Franco dictatorship. Freemasons were (according to their Rank) either imprisoned for years or executed, just for being members of a Masonic

Lodge. In a similar fashion to the Nazi`s in Germany, he had a replica masonic hall constructed , but exaggerated some aspects of the ritual and regalia to try to justify to the public his actions.

The event which was held in the Lounge was a great success and £75 was raised for the Hall Restoration Fund. Israel Trip. Bro. Stuart Jack, IPM in his continued research into members of Lodge St. Bryde who fought in World War 1 has identified two sites in Israel which have Lodge St. Bryde connections. One in Beersheba contains the remains of a Lodge St. Bryde member and one in Jerusalem contains the remains of an Applicant who applied to join our Lodge and was subsequently called up before being Initiated, he was killed in action. Bros. Andrew Nisbet, James Jack, Stuart Jack and Andrew Jack will pay the respects of the Lodge during their visit and they will also visit the grave of Bro. Nisbets Great Uncle, George who was killed in action , but was not a member of 579. A full report on the visit will be made in a future Right Angle.
