The DragonI made this as a personal project at home in my spare time, I still intend to use it by starting up an online store account at Shape Ways, then selling 3D prints of the model. My influence and ideas for this was primarily because I had watched some films involving dragons. The idea for selling 3D prints came after my college tutor showed me Shape Ways, I thought it would be a good idea as it would be a small source of income.

The DragonThe strengths of this model are that it is very detailed and it is suitable for what I intended. Also, with an added bone structure for rigging I can move him into different poses for printing. However, its weaknesses are that it may not be able to be used in a game due to its high polygon count. Also, the complexity of the model means texturing a UV map is time consuming and difficult.

The RigAgain, I made this as a side project at home, although this was for my own entertainment. I had watched a film called Mad Max and then thought about making my own chase scene involving multiple vehicles with extreme modifications. The model does have a lot of detail, it has an engine, a full interior and the underside has all the drive-shafts and suspension.

The Rig (Armoured)These are the additions I made to my rig for the purpose of the animation. The pros of the rig were that it was nicely detailed and I made it in multiple layers and parts so that I could manipulate it in the animation as it drove along. The cons are that it had an pretty high polygon count and the multiple parts could be hard to work with.

The DreadnoughtThis is an object of a large space craft which I developed from an older model I made for an assignment in the first year of college. I am now using this for a game I am helping to build with some friends. My inspiration for the original ship came from multiple sci-fi films, then with some guidance from my friend I have continued to develop the model.

Military Transport ShipThis is the first model I made in Light Wave, the idea was completely made up as I went and the ship got more complicated and detailed as we were taught new tool and techniques of modelling.

CruiserThe cruiser is the ship I made to use in an animation unit, the ship was inspired from some images and ships seen in films. I have made an interior for the cockpit as it was to be used in an animation.

DewyDewy is just a simple model of my interpretation of a cartoon style Diplodocus or dinosaur.

WalkerThe walker is also one of the first few models I made, inspiration for this came from the large walkers in Red Faction Gruella. It isn’t very practical as it is in many separate parts however it is one of the first few I made.

CrawlerMy crawler was just an idea I had of something that I could use in a scene as a large surface vehicle for a sci-fi setting. The idea was it would crawl around a planets surface and other vehicles would enter and exit from a lowering bay in the middle of the crawler.
