DANDY FROM BENJAMIN FUELS 7-1 WIN: The Riders took down Midland 7-1 in Monday’s series finale. Wes Benjamin carried a no-hitter for 4 2/3 innings and tossed six frames in total, allowing a run on two hits in a victory. The Riders took the lead with four runs in the fourth and added a pair of late homers from Juremi Profar and Eliezer Alvarez to cruise to victory. ON THE MEND: The Riders have a pair of rehabbers in town tonight, with outfielders Delino Deshields and Ryan Rua scheduled to play tonight. Rua (muscle spasms in back) started his assignment last night and went 2-for-3 with an RBI single. Deshields (fractured tip of right middle finger) is starting his second rehab assignment of the year with the Riders tonight. He was also with the club April 19-21. UNREAL STRETCH FOR STARTERS: Frisco starting pitching has been nothing short of fantastic this week. In the last seven games, the starters are 3-2 with a 1.67 ERA (37 2/3 IP, 27 H, 7 ER, 6 BB, 44 K, .200 average). BIG PROSPECT MAKES HOME DEBUT: Lefty Joe Palumbo makes his first start at Dr Pepper Ballpark tonight after an impressive Double-A debut last Wednesday at San Antonio (5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 K). Palumbo is rated as the eight-best Rangers prospect by MLB Pipeline. LOTS OF DIFFERENT PLAYERS: With the addition of Ryan Rua yesterday, the Riders have had 72 different players appear in a game this season. That ties the 2015 squad for the most players in franchise history. Frisco’s 40 pitchers are two away from tying the 2015 team’s total, while the 32 position players are the most the club has had in one season. EARNING A SPECIAL HONOR: Riders athletic trainer Jacob Newburn was recently named the Texas League Athletic Trainer of the Year by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainer Society. As the Texas League’s winner, he is also in the running for the national honor, which will be given out to one trainer in all of Minor League Baseball at this year’s Winter Meetings. DRAWING NEAR ANOTHER ATTENDANCE CROWN: With four home games remaining, the Riders are trying to close out attendance titles in both the Texas League and all of Double-A for the 14th year in a row. Entering play tonight, the Riders are averaging 6,838 fans per game. The next-closest Texas League team is Tulsa (5,255) and the next nearest Double-A team is Richmond (6,087). game #134 TUESDAY, august 28 7:05 p.m. Dr Pepper Ballpark • Frisco, TX LHP Joe Palumbo (1-0, 1.80) vs. LHP Brett Adcock (3-1, 1.94) Video: MiLB.tv • Audio: RidersBaseball.com, TuneIn Radio and MiLB First Pitch App corpus christi hooks (79-52/36-26) Houston Astros 1 DATE TIME OPPONENT RIDERS STARTER OPPOSING STARTER Wed. 8/29 7:05 p.m. vs. Corpus Christi RHP Jonathan Hernandez (4-4, 4.92) RHP Brandon Bielak (2-4, 2.08) Thu. 8/30 7:05 p.m. vs. Corpus Christi RHP Edgar Arredondo (0-3, 4.97) LHP Ryan Hartman (10-4, 2.75) Fri. 8/31 7:05 p.m. vs. Corpus Christi LHP Taylor Hearn (1-2, 4.95) RHP Corbin Martin (7-2, 2.78) Sat. 9/1 7:00 p.m. at Midland LHP Brett Martin (2-9, 6.70) TBA upcoming pitching probables 2018................................................ 57-76 2017................................................ 59-74 Best record .............. 2018 GAME-BY-GAME

notes

• Last start (Wednesday at San Antonio): Made his Double-A debut in dominant fashion, punching out eight Missions in five innings to earn the win. His only run came on an RBI single in a 31-pitch fourth frame.

• Struck out a career-high 11 batters across five scoreless innings 8/7 vs. Buies Creek.

• Did not allow an earned run in three of his six starts with Down East.• Began the year with three rehab starts in the AZL and officially was on

a rehab assignment with Down East in his first outing with the Wood Ducks before being added to the active roster.

• Currently rated as Texas’ eight-best prospect by MLB Pipeline and 11th by Baseball America.

• Added to the Rangers 40-man roster last November.

• Struck out 122 hitters in just 96 1/3 innings during the 2016 season with Class-A Hickory, second-most in the Rangers organization and 13th-best in the South Atlantic League.

• Opened the 2016 season as a reliever before moving into a starter’s role for his final seven outings of the season.

• 2014 AZL Postseason All-Star.• Missed his senior season in high school after transferring to St. John

the Baptist HS and then learning that he was ineligible due to trans-fer rules. Instead, played with the Long Island Black Sox in the Long Island Men’s League, where he was scouted by the Rangers.

• Bypassed a commitment to attend San Jacinto Junior College in order to sign with the Rangers.
